Visited on Friday 20th Sept. Terrible service. Myself and colleague were sat for at least 15 minutes with the waitresses not paying an ounce of notice. My companion walked over and asked for a menu to be told "they are over there". Somebody finally came over to take order. No welcome, no smiles, nothing ! Order placed. Some time later returned with said order and just plonked it on table and left. We got up to find own cutlery and condiments etc ! I ordered cheese on toast with a poached egg as I was disappointed to note there were no veggie breakfast options. I was busy chatting when I then noticed that I had two soggy pieces of bread with cheese on and a sorry looking fried egg for £4.50 !!! I had gone past caring at this point to be honest. Only picked this place as we were meeting for work meeting and the reviews seemed good. Won't be returning.
Go here if you want good Thai food cooked by a Thai family. This is not some overpriced restaurant with an over-promising menu and exotic furnishings to make you think you are in Bangkok. The focus here is on authentic SE Asia cooking from a limited but changing menu with excellent service and reasonably priced drinks. We had Summer rolls, Green curry and Pad Thai, all were tasty and all too soon our plates were clean. No room for desserts!
Will we go here again, yes.
I wish this Thai family every success with their fledgling business.
Great food and Jim is such a nice man, and a great chef, the flavours he created were amazing, Think it was a bit lucky we were the only table (6 of us) as Jim was on his own, he did a great job, if there were more customers I would happily have jumed in to help even though I retired from the catering business many years ago it never really leave you. Yr Orsaf (the community hub, accommodation, caffi and Evening Thai all deserve success, what they have achieved is amazing, Long may it thrive.
A simple cafe. We had a light soup and sandwich lunch. The soup was hot and tasty and the sandwich was fine as well. Perhaps not the style of a modern establishment but that don’t let that put you off.
What a surprising and nice find. Wouldn’t have gone in based on the exterior. I think it’s an old pub but it was recommended. I know why now. The Victoria sponge was so light and the coffee second to none. There is a cosy cafe on one side and an Internet cafe the other side. You’re welcome to sit either side. Staff were so friendly and kept asking was everything ok. The coffee was the best available sourced from a speciality coffee company in Llandudno rather than whatever was cheap in the cash and carry. The great thing about it being an Internet cafe is that when other cafes shut at 4pm this is still well and truly open for business. Definitely will go back if I’m in the area. Oh and the toilets are clean and plenty of them based on the past use if the premises I assume. Prices are in anyone’s budget but better quality than cheap cafes elsewhere. Seats are comfy.
We had a 4 day stay, visiting the lovely beach at Conwy Morfa, the mountains nearby, the lovely village of Rowan and a gig at the stadium in Colwyn Bay.
The small hotel is beautiful and full of character. The eating space, lounge and bedroom were excellent with a bar where you can help yourself if the hosts aren’t around - just write down what you had!
The jewel is the extensive garden where you can relax amidst beautiful countryside surroundings.
The nearby village has one pub which serves good food and there are numerous enchanting local walks in the north Wales countryside or mountains within easy reach.
The hosts are. Chris and Sandra who will be only to pleased to look after you and engage in a good conversation should you wish. There’s a terrace where you can enjoy your drink and the breakfasts are extensive and varied and cater for vegetarian and gluten free options.
In all a delightful stay.
Popped in for a cuppa....
Nicely decorated, very clean and a good choice of sandwiches and pies, no hot food available though.
Bit pricey I thought, but hey.....isn't everything since the pandemic!
Lovely staff.
Called on off chance.
Bought bread which was OK....normally make my own, but on recommendation thought we try this.
Had 2 vanilla slices...found the Pastry dry and not very flaky...vanilla rather synthetic.
Can't see what all the fuss is about.
A fabulously curated collection of cheese and deli items - there's always something interesting to try, friendly advice and explanations and brilliant sandwiches at lunchtimes. The Christmas sandwich this year was stunning and it's lovely to come for wine and cheese in the evening. We really enjoy having &Caws on our doorstep and our two cats have been big fans too.
The menu is short and simple allowing the produce to shine and if there's anything in the fridge or shelves you would like to have, you can pick it up and add it on. The feta and spinach pies are worth an early trip for and the cakes are well chosen and interesting flavours. There's also fondue nights, delicious toasties and hot food as well as pop-up dining from local chefs which always have delicious sounding menus and sell out quickly.
& Caws are a0 really lovely addition to Menai Bridge.
Staying at the Celtic Royal again we decided to treat ourselves! Slightly put off by seemingly expensive menu but the portions were amazing and food cooked to a really high standard. And then, the puddings! Amazing choice and absolutely delicious! We’ll be back - I hope!
My absolute favourite cafe. Food is amazing and staff are so lovely and friendly. It’s has a relaxed atmosphere where dogs welcome. Huge bonus is the fact they cater for my son who has a milk allergy!🙌🏻
What a great find, group of 6 looking for a good brekkie, told about The Legend, fabulous quick service, lovely breakfast, we had large breakfasts and vegetarian.
Lovelly and clean environment.
The food here is very good.
Excellent sausage rolls, pies and Cornish pasties cooked each day.
Wonderful mini quiche. Broccoli and red pepper with a beetroot crust, spinach and ricotta and balsamic onion are all delicious.
The sandwiches are lovely. We had the ham, cheddar and piccalilli. The filling is very generous.
Food can be ordered by phone.
They also do hot drinks and a nice variety of other takeaway items including home made cakes.
Overall highly recommend for the quality and value.
We called in for a drink during our stay in Bala.
It's a nice local pub with welcoming staff and a good selection of beers and lagers and reasonably priced.
