Great food and Jim is such a nice man, and a great chef, the flavours he created were amazing, Think it was a bit lucky we were the only table (6 of us) as Jim was on his own, he did a great job, if there were more customers I would happily have jumed in to help even though I retired from the catering business many years ago it never really leave you. Yr Orsaf (the community hub, accommodation, caffi and Evening Thai all deserve success, what they have achieved is amazing, Long may it thrive.

Yet another excellent meal from Jim at Yr Orsaf. Obviously inspired by his recent trip to Thailand, we had new dishes not even on the menu yet, Papya salad, tasty pork mince salad that was like nothing we tasted before and a payanne duck curry.

The tastiest meal we have had in years. Who would have thought that a little village could host such a lovely Thai restaurant. Thai fish cakes and satay tofu to start was lovely. Beef Rendang and Hoisin belly pork tasted fantastic. Tofu curry, perfect rice!

I visit Yr Orsaf quite frequently and have done so since it was opened. It has changed hands relatively recently but the high quality remains the same as before with some interesting modifications and additions to the menu. I had the club sandwich with tripple cooked chips and a lovely salad, and the coffee is also great. I’m not too sure about the truthfulness of the poorly written one star review posted below as it definitely does not reflect my experience or the people I know who visit often. I recommend that you visit here to see for yourself because you definitely won’t be disappointed. It’s a great little café and by going there you will be supporting a community project. Have a look at their website to learn about all the good things they do in the community.

Our family of 16 had meals over 3 days last week and just have to say each meal was outstanding! Jim and Anna prepared breakfast and evening meals for all of us with no fuss or hassle. As it was my wife's special birthday, I cant thank them enough in making our stay in North Wales so memorable. Can't wait to go again hopefully when its a bit warmer! Highly recommended!

I’ve visited the cafe on numerous ocasions, for a full breakfast on Saturdays and Sunday lunch. They have lovely food, a really nice atmosphere and Pam who runs the cafe is great. Well worth a visit if you’re in the area. They usually have a nice selection of fresh home made cakes on the counter as well!

Visited with family for Sunday lunch. Could not fault the meal. Home cooked, hot and plentiful. Home made bara brith bread and butter pudding was lovely and so was the homemade rice pudding served with apricots drenched in local honey. Relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff. Have also visited in the week, good menu and lots of homemade choices. Nice outdoor seating which I will use once the weather improves. Thank you

A really welcoming atmosphere in this little hidden gem. The food is both great and plentiful. I recommend the breakfast, particularly if you’re camping, it will set you up for a great day!

This was a flying visit, having decieded to cycl to Penygroes on a cold and windy day. So a warm welcome, a hot coffee and a nourishing cake set me up for the journey home. Yr Orsaf was slowly filling when I was there with the local football team who were meeting for a cooked breakfast before travelling to their away game. Warm Welsh welcome so if in Penygroes, call in.

Me and my fiancé fancied a change for lunch and went for some food to this local café and were not disappointed. I had chicken and bacon panini and fiancé had jacket and chilli con carne. We both thoroughly enjoyed our food. The staff also were very pleasant and the atmosphere was great. Highly recommend if you're local or if you're passing through - I believe they also do take away on some food items.

This hotel may be suitable for couples looking for a quiet getaway for a day or two, but unfortunately, it falls short for families with children or people wanting to stay longer. The main menu has very limited options and does not change. There is no children’s menu available, and when I asked about meal options for my kid, I was met with frustration and told that the only fish available was a £25 pollock and the portion size was tiny! The rooms, while cosy, felt overpriced for what they offered and had a peculiar smell. For the rate charged, I expected more comfort, luxury and space. To top it off, I had informed the hotel in advance that we were celebrating a birthday, yet there was no acknowledgment—no special touch, not even a simple birthday greeting. It felt impersonal and underwhelming. Overall, not a great experience for families or special occasions. Would not recommend for those traveling with children or hoping for a memorable celebration.

This was our 3rd stay at Plas Dinas and once again, we were not disappointed! We had booked a 2 night stopover in the fabulous Lady Armstrong Jones room and were shown to the room by Rupert who was obviously very proud of the room refurbishment and the wonderful en-suite bathroom. The evening meals were delicious. We bumped into Chef Daniel one morning and congratulated him on his appearance on The Great British Menu. We had been following his progress during the programme and felt very lucky to meet him in person. A fabulous stay and wonderful hospitality from all members of the team. We will be back!

This is possibly the best coffee in Barmouth. Nice atmosphere and lovely furnishings inside. Only had a toasted tea cake here but looking at the menu everything looks reasonably priced.
