We called in for a drink during our stay in Bala. It's a nice local pub with welcoming staff and a good selection of beers and lagers and reasonably priced.

A fabulous welcome not only to ourselves but to our two dogs from the barman on Saturday 1st June in afternoon. He brought treats and water out for the dogs , gave me information as to how to find the steam train, made us feel really welcome. If we had been staying in Bala, the Goat would be our pub of choice. Lovely feeling

Just got back from a weekend at Bala and spent most of our ‘pub time’ here! Absolutely loved this pub, the staff were so helpful and friendly, gave us menus to order in food to eat there, didn’t grumble with all the baby Guinness we ordered, really cheap drinks and a great band on Saturday to entertain us. One of the locals had a 70th party there and invited us to help ourselves to the buffet, genuinely friendly and fun people can be found in this pub! Loved it, can’t wait to visit again 🤩

Lots of nice pubs in Bala but the Goat stands out for value for money, quality of beer and friendly atmosphere. The landlord Gethin stands out as the most accommodating and friendly host you are likely to meet. Well done. Clive & Delyth.

My husband is in a wheelchair and there is a small step at both entrances to this pub but we were assisted by a chef to get in, once inside everything is easy excess and getting out ok, landlord recommended the Butty Bach from Wye Valley Brewery, lovely drop of real ale. Dog friendly pub, locals pub, will definitely pop in on our next stay in the area

Had a two night stay here over the weekend of the 6th Sept and what a wonderful little place it is. Emma and Menno were the most welcoming, friendly hosts and we immediately felt like this was a home from home, our room was very cosy and complete with home made Welsh cakes that went down a treat with a cup of tea after the long drive. The breakfasts were amazing and with the added twist of a Dutch breakfast option courtesy of Menno. The tea rooms are currently closed allowing for a lovely spacious breakfast room which is decorated with photos and keepsakes from all over the world. Emma gave us pointers on the local eateries and places to go and even filled up our water bottles for us when we went out on our hike. This is a fantastic base for walking with easy access to both the Rydd Ddu, and Snowdon Ranger paths up Snowdon as well as having several lakes and close by to the Nantile Ridge. Ty Mawr is currently up for sale which is a shame because we would definitely stay again. Thank you Emma and Menno for giving us a really lovely stay.

Staying at the Celtic Royal again we decided to treat ourselves! Slightly put off by seemingly expensive menu but the portions were amazing and food cooked to a really high standard. And then, the puddings! Amazing choice and absolutely delicious! We’ll be back - I hope!
