Wonderfully thought out food, a unique take away experience, one where you feel good the next morning. Friendly service, ethical policies, great creativity with lovely ingredients.

What a hidden gem - if you like fish it is a must visit spot! Staff lovely and friendly, could not do enough. Food five star taste, quality and portion size generous. Good value, lovely views. Clean and tidy and right next to the car park! Tables inside and out. Would highly recommend.

We have just dined here. The reception was very good and friendly. I like the ambiance here, it tells me that they are confident about their product and it turns out that confidence was not misplaced. We were taken upstairs to the restaurant. It was like being a member of an exclusive club. Another friendly greeting from the restaurant staff and an introduction to an absurdly simple menu. A choice of 3 starters and main courses. When have you seen that before ? This is so refreshingly different. It promised me that they know what they are doing and it came good on that promise. My starter of “sardines on toast” was superb. A game changer. Very very good. There was fennel and lemon and sardine in perfect harmony. This is the best food I have tasted in years ! Next was steak and chips with an endive salad and a sauce vert that was a good complement to the steak. The chips were perfect and a nice amount of pepper on the steak. It’s so simple and so good. Next was a tart tatin and a good custard as a pudding. You could travel all over the world and not eat better than this. Cardigan should be as proud of this as it should be of other notable eateries that have opened up in the town. This restaurant is another example of how Cardigan is going to end up as a quality destination.

Picked up a couple of delicious cakes here as we were passing by, some sort of brownie with a biscuit on top, it was the gooiest sweetest treat I’ve had in ages. A small observation, no prices/descriptions in the window, whilst we stood and chose our treat a couple of potential customers walked away commenting the cakes would probably be too expensive, many of the younger generation don’t like to ask. Your prices are amazing for the quality by the way.

I think we’ve tried most things for sale here but personal favourite has to be the banana biscoff almond croissant, or the garlic mushroom pizza. I also like how you get the choice of a middle piece or corner piece too! Always try to pop in whenever I’m in Cardigan :)

Always a lovely place to hang out

If I could give this restaurant 10 stars, I would! Some of the most unique combinations of food that made for such a wonderful meal, loved every single bite and left wanting more! Cannot wait for the next chance to eat here. Very knowledgeable staff as well in terms of explaining good & dessert options.

A very friendly place, a proper community cafe and music venue

Fabulous baguettes, very friendly service and great value. Blossom (the dog) loved her special bag of take away chicken! Blossom’s (and ours) favourite lunch spot!

Wonderful food! Truly something special in Cardigan. The brioche French toast was really amazing and the "side item" furikake fries m deserved it's own place in the main menu. We were greeted by a somewhat grumpy fellow who complained directly at us for not booking a table of 8 (the restaurant wasn't busy). The rest of the staff were really lovely and they made up for the first impression.

Came here with friends on a trip back to my home town. Have been looking forward to it for some time as last time I was in this building I was getting a hair cut. It was over crowded upstairs when out side was empty. Our order was taken fast and came out in good time. Unfortunately the fish was more like something from the chip shop, breaded and not a herb crust. Lasagne tasted like a supermarket microwave meal. We were ignored once we had our meal. No one asked us if we were enjoying it. We were not offered more drinks and only offered a dessert an hour after we had our meal. When we said we were unhappy the waitress was not interested and offered us nothing. Been in hospitality over 30 years. Very disappointed and won't waste my money again. Thank you for your reply. We were there 28th December. You were offering the fish in a herb crumb but that is not what my friend received and a review can be left at any time.

Best cooked breakfast I’ve had in years

The cooking took shorter than a normal pizza getting cooked. I like it because I don’t need to wait for too long. The pizza tastes delicious. (By Wilfred aged 9)

Had a meal here for Valentine’s. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, possibly more than any restaurant I’ve been to which was nice! The food also excellent and I’m extremely fussy with food, I will only ever usually go to one other Indian so it was a big risk and one that paid off. Thank you, we will be back.
