Pizzatipi in Ceredigion

No fuss 😊 Excellent! Food was great, promptly served and great beer. Loved the fire pit and the relaxed vibe. Last minute decision to pop in but very pleased we did.

Amazing restaurant, great atmosphere and vibe and the food is really good. We took our twins in their pushchair and it was accessible enough - the main area can get smoky due to the open fire in the middle but wasn’t a problem as we sat right next to a big open door.

Came in as we usually do on a Saturday night and it’s the last time, we are sick of being treated badly by the staff, everyone in our party has worked in service before so know how to be good customers, they told us we would have a sauce each with our potato sides and when we said there wasn’t a sauce politely were met with eye rolls from a young girl and attitude? And then when being served we were given incorrect instructions, and further poor treatment by 2 other members of staff. Each time we go in to eat we appreciate that they are all young workers and probably aren’t that bothered about delivering customer service that we are used to else where, but that doesn’t mean we are accepting having eye rolls and awful attitude from them again. We are good customers and never make a fuss and know how it can be being servers but do not expect anything better than this experience as it has been a reoccurring experience since the place opened. Food is nice but the service from these kids is painful and what’s even more frustrating is the long wait we endure each time we go there as they are all running about getting things wrong all the time. I don’t think we’ve ever gone in and had our order correct first time. Over £40 for 2 pizzas and a bag of potato’s

Delicious pizza and a great venue but the wait was a bit long, as we think takeaways we being prioritised over in house orders.

Quirky, rustic, in as i'd describe in glam wooden shed buildings, it shouldnt work...BUT guess what, I LOVE IT... The staff are young, helpful, very good at their job,its VERY good Pizza on very thin base, very clean and flavour, enjoyable. The place is very atmospheric, feels like you almost step back in time. A fantastic experience. Any1 who visits Cardigan should visit.X

Visited today - Saturday lunchtime at 12ish. Friendly staff, shown where the bar was, toilets etc and we could pick where to sit. We chose a booth on the riverside, cosy and quirky with just 2 tables per booth. Small menu but with specials board too - we ordered our food at the food bar. One pizza had ham/mushrooms/onion the other was chorizo/onion - both very tasty. Ordered 2 cappuccinos from the drinks bar and was served by a very friendly, polite and chatty young man. An asset to the place. Definitely will return and recommend

Quirky place that serves simple food and does it pretty well. Surprisingly long wait for food given the limited range on the menu, but I thought the pizzas were very good so no complaints from me. Seating is rather basic - outdoor benches in booths against brick walls overflowing with weeds - and they've done the clever thing of turning the simplicity of it all into a virtue - and somehow that worked for us.

I’ve never before written a TripAdvisor review so this is a first. I just don’t understand the positive reviews. We booked. Queued to enter the place. Were shown to our table. Queued to order and pay for food. Queued again out the door of bar area to get drinks. Pizzas did not arrive together so one of four of us ate later. Ingredients felt poor. Franca manca do a basic pizza with good ingredients. Pizzatipi’s margarita was sour thin watery tomato sauce and the ultra processed grated ‘mozzarella’ that is not really mozzarella. By having no ‘service’ as such, the experience was joyless with no interaction, we couldn’t be together as a family as invariably one of us was queuing and they are charging £19 for a pizza Wii cheap ingredients. We found the whole experience so sad. Someone’s taken time over the ‘vibe’ but the basic of the food itself is not good and the concept just odd. It felt like a music festival, but without the speed and efficiency, or great music that many of the festival pizza stalls have.

Disappointed at the taste of the pizza,the service and the time taken. A lot of staff standing around eating, not bothering with customers. Took an hour for our 2 pizzas to come, they were a lot blander than they used to be and the price was £16 per pizza! It's a shame because we used to love coming to you for a treat. But def needs improvement. Lovely space to sit out by the river, nice views and the tp is cool, not sure why it's so expensive when you have to do everything yourself and pay a lot- apart from actually make the pizza ! Sorry for low review but improvements are needed x

Brilliant place to eat. Pizzas are so tasty and are decent size for big appetites. The restaurant has expanded over the years and is a very cosy vibrant feel. Staff are all very friendly and polite. Great place for families

Pizza was just ok, nothing special. Just because I am a man, it doesn't mean I want to have toilet facilities in a shed !

Highly recommend. Lovely unique place, well organised with the ordering system (although have to do drinks and food separately which didn't bother us). Food was delicious. We tried to book online but no availability so we turned up and luckily they took us in so worth trying if you have the same problem. Recommend the potato tots and Garlic focaccia.

Excellent pizza, side salad and potato nuggets. Very friendly staff. At busy times you have to wait a while for food, I'm glad I made a booking.

Great riverside pizza restaurant, which offers a unique and enjoyable atmosphere. The funky vibe, complete with an outdoor tipi hut and wooden stalls alongside the river views is pretty unique. The pizzas are undoubtedly the stars of the show. Both my family and I were massively impressed with the quality and flavor, especially considering. They are a bit pricey though but worth it. I opted for a nduja pizza drizzled with honey, while the kids enjoyed classic Margherita pizzas and my partner preferred a Hawaiian. We also started with a delicious order of potato tots. The only minor drawback was the separate ordering stations for food and drinks. This occasionally led to queues, and the lack of table service for ordering could be slightly inconvenient. However, the food was promptly delivered to our table. Overall I thoroughly recommend Pizzatipi if you want a good quality pizza and to sit near the river.

Love this place! Second time visiting, but did not disappoint. Service was impeccable, a 30 minute wait was advised but pizzas and tots arrived well before that. Great selection of local ales, and enjoyed next to a roaring fire pit. Anhygoel, diolch!!

Open fire, good location by river and jazz music background all adds to atmosphere. Reasonable choice of beers and wood fired pizzas make for a good informal dining experience. Potato puffs were an appetising starter and kept us going til pizza arrived. Would have liked a little more choice in pizza toppings e.g prosciutto and rocket but shared ndju pizza, thin and crispy, was just fine. Service was proficient.

Great food and a great experience in a lovely setting

Travelled 20 miles to visit and it was well worth it. Service, food and drinks were all perfect. Probably the best pizza and focaccia we have ever had. Prices very good and the ambience, perfect. We will definitely be back in a few days time. Dogs are encouraged to visit too, which is brilliant.

Food was beautiful. We are returning customers for last 10 years. Pizza never disappoints.

Great views, great staff but a warning if you are gluten free, do not order a pizza. I was so excited when they said they had gluten free bases today, but was in shock when it came out literally half the size of everybody else's pizzas and no substance to it.....and you will pay an extra £2 for the experience. If that's the best you can do, please just take them off your menu.

We have been here a quite few times and we were disappointed the last few times as they had ran out of a few things and the food doesn’t come out altogether. The potato tots came out a good 10/15 mins before the pizza which I find strange as it’s not a starter. There was no specials on either which was disappointing. The pizza and pototo tots are delicious 🤤 so we will return, but we hope the last few times were hiccups. The atmosphere is great, they have a ping pong table which the kids love . Maybe a few more pizzas could be added to the menu

Pizza base was good but topping was nothing special. Some of the staff were lovely but some were disinterested and not particularly courteous or warm. The limoncello spritz was weak and cost £9, definitely not worth it and the arancini side whilst pleasant was expensive. Nice setting but definitely for tourists and I won't eat there again. Not much choice for vegetarians in terms of pizza

Really cool place to sit by river and eat, drink. No vaping or smoking anywhere outside which seems abit strict. But great food and service.

We have been coming to Pizza Tipi every summer for the past 6 years, and our last visit for my daughter’s birthday will be our last. We were sat in the riverside booths, being rained on - we asked the hostess if she could check if we could possible have a different table for our quick dinner, without checking we were told no. Despite the main tipi having plenty available tables when we sat down and when we left. The riverside booths are small, cold and far away from the atmosphere. There was burrata on the menu, but none available, the garlic focaccia was burnt toast and not soft pillowly focaccia. There was no lemonade/sprite available, despite me being able to see bottles of it in the fridge. The service is non existent (you queue in the rain to order your own food) your plates are not cleared from your table. The pizzas are nice, but are overpriced for what they are. Such a pity. This place was such a gem and we have always really enjoyed it but i think it’s had its heyday and is now just trying to make as much money as possible.

Great local business on the Waterside at Cardigan. We visited on a Monday evening in the summer holidays, and it was surprisingly busy. Might be worth booking on a weekend. Staff were friendly and service was efficient. Food was excellent, also a wide range of great beers and soft drinks available.

What a lovely place to come for dinner! Our host Rhianne squeezed us in early before our booking time despite how busy they were. The garlic focaccia was to die for and the potato puffs were divine. I'm not always down for pizza put this was so tasty I'm sorry I don't live locally to enjoy this more often. The setting and vibe was so nice, all our servers were friendly and welcoming and we had a lovely evening here by the river watching the fire burn.

Love the music. Love the pizza. Love the location. Order at the hut and the bar is on the left as you come in. Contactless for payment and the firepit is lovely to sit around if your in a couple. Beautiful during a sunset.

Nice place, good service, cheerful staff but our pizzas weren't very good at all. They were over loaded with pesto from a jar, hardly any mozzarella and the ricotta and spinach base didn't work. I thought the base was too biscuity.

End of a perfect day on the deck outside the tipi. Sparkling water at sundown and bumping into old friends and generally had a great time.

Wow! Delicious pizza and nice sides! I loved it and would recommend. I wish I could try every topping but I picked chorizo and my partner had pepperoni. We felt that the chorizo was a better topping but the pepperoni was a better base. Both were great though. Our plates were empty by the end! Great location too

6 of us had pizza's and they were all delicious I would very much recommend that you try it out. I had another visit here in May 2024 and was very happy with the delicious pizza, you will need to book and dogs are welcome.

Disappointed... We went over Easter whilst on holiday, we ordered a Greek salad and burrata to start, which took ages, and when it did come had no olives or dressing, to be fair the waitress was friendly and resolved it. 10 mins later we asked about the burrata, and the waitress placed a plates of mozzarella balls on the table and walked away. Thinking they made a mistake we asked her to come back and explained it isn't what we ordered, she said they didn't have what we ordered so just gave us something else, which was a strange thing to do, we sent it back. The pizzas came, this been our 2nd visit, the pizzas previously were good, but this time they were cold, thin, really thin and crispy and hardly no toppings. The kids were all hungry so we just ate it, but disappointed with the quality, especially for the cost, which was over £80 for pizzas I could have cooked in an oven with my 5yr old.... I'd say not always bad, buy also reading other reviews, it can be very hit and miss.

Excellent eatery-funky booths or sit around the fire. We had a two year old and could sit in a self contained booth with a heater and great view of the river. Amazing pizza- I had a mushroom special which had lashings of garlic and leeks and was probably the best I've had in a long time! Really friendly staff, we will be back! ❤️🍕🍕🍕

Having been here many many times over a number of years, we were shocked by the place on our last visit in March. Everywhere is now boxed in and, even though we were on the side of the river, we couldn't see it. Sadly, it has been utterly ruined in our opinion. The pizza was not of the same quality, either. One of our party said that they wouldn't be back and I'm not sure if we will, either.

Pizza is good. The experience was just alright. Tipi looks good. Shed vibe eating, instant heaters and dirty see through roofs. These cheap roofs need some some TLC otherwise could leak onto your food.

Cracking pizza place. Thin pizzas, but not so thin they're crispy. Lot's of topping options and a few sides as well. Garlic focacia was superb. Cracking variety of wine, beer and soft drinks, barman super friendly and helpful. Really nice atmosphere in the tipi.

Lovely concept and very nice pizza

I do love this place usually, I know Saturday is a busy time... Family of 6, we ordered starters, drinks and pizza.. It took more than 45 mins for our pizzas to arrive, when I went outside to vape I was told off, I was being respectful about it too! I saw no clear signage and assumed as alcohol is served I could vape outside! I did then mention I've been waiting quite a long time. I could of whacked out a whole lot of pizza's in a pizza oven within 45 mins at a 3 min bake time. Funnily enough the logs weren't completely seasoned which produced alot of smoke in the (enclosed) tipi. I don't recall it ever being this slow, but the food was good when it came. Just not a great experience this time.

we came here for a meal and where very disappointed with the service and how long the food took to come out, half of our tables food came and then waited an extra 20 minutes until the other half got there food. this is absolutely ridiculous as an establishment time management should be top priority! although the food was lovely, we where really disappointed on the wait for it.

Good atmosphere ruined by glacial waiting times (1 hour) together with mediocre pizza, some of which were charred. Very disappointed.

Food was amazing here and who couldn't love pizza in a tipi! Only reason I had to mark it down is food took about 45 minutes and had to wait longer for our sides.

What an incredible place, my wife and I went on a wet and drizzly night but it did nothing to dampen the experience here. The cosy Tipi was great, sitting by the fire you couldn't tell the weather was typically Welsh outside and still had a buzzing but not too loud atmosphere great for adults and kids alike, even pets too. Even though it was absolutely packed the people that worked there were always helpful and very kind, great people to be around. Very impressive considering how busy it was. Can only imagine how great this place is on a sunny day when it's this good on a cold February night. And then of course there's the food. Authentic pizzas you can't get enough of, we also had the potato cakes for bits and bobs to begin and can't say enough great things about it all. My new favourite place to eat, can't wait to come back with my 2 children and maybe even the dog if she ever decides to calm down enough to come to these places. 5 stars is not enough. Thank you guys

Great food, great atmosphere, warm, friendly and fab beer

Our 5th visit to Pizzatipi and as good as ever. The food is delicious and arrives promptly, and the atmosphere is fantastic. It's particularly good during the cold winter months, where you can feast on pizza while hunkering down by a crackling log fire. Perfection.

We had a great evening, we enjoyed a cosy booth, kept toasty warm with a ceiling heater. Delicious food. Super friendly staff and great atmosphere. Already looking forward to our next visit!

Lovely, cozy place with very tasty food. Had a special "Autumn Pizza" and my husband had the "Pepperoni" and they were both delicious; mine was a great show of flavours - beetroot, pumpkin, goats cheese, pine nuts and watercress- very tasty. It was fairly busy with different parties and families, couples and people of all age and the open fire gave it a magical atmosphere. The staff were very kind and polite. Will surely return on our next visit to Cardigan.

The pizzas have grown in size over the years, which is good to see! V tasty, good value for money, great setting. And delicious beers on tap. If you can time it with a quick boat trip up the river, you're winning at life.

Fairly expensive for what you get.... Maybe it's the price you pay for these type of places. Nice pizza... Made fresh and tastes really good. Cracking views of the river, and relaxed type atmosphere. My only negative is no soap in the bathroom to wash your hands. But it's definitely worth a visit....

Great location and the teepee in a courtyard makes for a great atmosphere. They advised a wait time of 40 mins for us, which was pretty much correct. I took a star off the service because while you order the pizza through the QR code, you have to go and queue at the bar separately for your drinks, which was quite slow at peak dinner time, and a little bit annoying. The stand out food item was the fried potato cakes. Absolutely terrific; I would go back just to have those again. The Greek salad was nice, but quite heavy on the salad leaves. The pizzas tasted really good but had quite a wide, hard crust. Perhaps this is authentic, but we ended up with most of these crusts uneaten, which feels like a bit of a waste.

The came here whilst on holiday in the area. Quite simply, you won't find pizza much better than this. Great place, great vibe.

Well, wishing I had read more of the negative comments before going! Not worth the visit and the experience ruined the last night of our holiday. The food itself was ok once we finally got it, but the place is very poorly run. 1st stood for 10mins at the check in desk waiting for someone to seat us, staff walking past and avoiding eye contact. Then once sat down did as was told and ordered food through the app immediately and then went to bar to get drinks. 40 mins went by and it was clear there was a problem - overheard other customers saying the app for food ordering had gone down so they had no idea who had ordered what…then chaos ensued. No organisation or logical thought, the staff went into panic mode. Began taking orders from 2 large groups and one of these had just arrived and not yet even ordered, completely ignoring us and another couple who had been waiting over 40mins and had paid for our food already!!! When this was pointed out to staff they were rude and indifferent (one lovely young waitress tried to help but her colleagues were not helpful). They said they had no idea who arrived when so needed to take everyone’s orders - but never came back to get everyone elses! As these large orders were already in progress we then got left to wait longer. Staff never approached us to apologise/explain, in fact actively avoided us. After waiting an 1hr and 15mins we approached staff again and expressed we felt we were being ignored - others who arrived after us were now finished their meals and we still had no food. The lady who we spoke with was very condescending. She had given others free drinks/food, whilst completely ignoring us. It appeared all the larger groups were given priority/preferential treatment. Eventually, and only as we had got quite cross at this point, one of the owners came over and expressed we would get a full refund but this has still not happened. I sincerely hope the debrief he said would happen for the staff has, and that they have a plan for what to do should this happen again. Completely understand the app going down is no one’s fault, and we expressed this at the time but this whole scenario could have been much better managed, not one person took responsibility for it or dealt with it professionally, and there was no communication from staff. I would not be recommending this place to anyone. There are plenty of other places that do a decent pizza - the experience is not worth it. It was a waste of a 40min journey and ruined the last night of the holiday.

Such a beautiful spacious light and airy venue. Authentic pizza ovens and amazing food and bites. Apart from the pizza I would recommend the potato cakes and the pea and spinach fritters. Thank you Pizzatipi for a lovely evening 🍕

The Olives were terrible. Barely edible. We heard a table behind us complain about them and instead of apologising the manager became very condescending and dismissive to the mans request. The manager seemed to accuse the man of lying by attempting to contradict his claims by saying "Actually, they came fresh this morning". Very insulting. I was very disappointed, incredibly rude manager. Also, it is very annoying you have to order drinks at the bar in person but food through the app. This caused a major issue as the bar was wholly understaffed on the night we dined here. I was left for over twenty minutes waiting for the two people behind the bar to get their act together while a queue of customers gathered behind me. By the time I got back to my table my food was already ten minutes cold. Pizzas were very nice though.
