The wife and I attended Y Parlwr to celebrate her birthday.
It has to rank as one of the best fine dining experiences we have ever had.
From the momemt we arrived until the moment we left we have nothing but praise!
A lovely venue with pleasant, professional and friendly staff.
We had the Parlwr Complete Experience with wine pairing. Every dish was magnificent and the wine pairing certainly enhanced the experience.
A must for any serious foodie!
We went for a meal with friends who had eaten here several times previously and rated it highly. The menu is quite small and no vegetarian options shown, although when asked there were two options available, veggie curry and cauliflower steak unfortunately neither of which appealed to me personally. I opted for the potato skins starter as a mains instead which was quite tasty but nothing I could wholeheartedly recommend. My meat eating companions chose off the chalkboard menu but were all left feeling slightly underwhelmed, cassoulet, gammon and chicken, none of which they raved about, in fact they were disappointed too as it wasn’t up to previous standards. The concept behind the pub was apparently to recapture the original Victorian feel but it just looked as if it badly needed updating. Staff were very helpful and friendly but without great food I couldn’t rate it any higher.
I’d heard of Colliery 19, but never got around to going there….until this evening, and we’re so glad we did. The food was wonderful and the staff so very attentive and totally customer focussed. It was lovely that some of the trainee chefs came to our table and asked for our opinion on the course they’d prepared. This just added to what was already a lovely experience. I think we’ll be going back, and soon.
Popped in for a treat with my daughter and the food and service was absolutely amazing, the staff were really polite and treated my daughter like a queen
That was the most amazing breakfast this morning....didn't eat another thing until 7pm this evening! Thank you so much...the beans were sensational! Can't rate this place highly enough! So sorry I live so far away and can't visit all the time!
Just looking for somewhere to get a cup of tea and a cake and we came across this little place.
Only taken over by its new owners about a year ago and they have made it warm and welcoming. Really very nice people indeed and I wish them all the luck in their new adventure.
Tea was great as were the cakes and if we are ever in the area again, will look this one out for a nice evening or lunch time meal.
Had lunch here a few days ago with friends. We were given a lovely warm welcome, coats taken and shown to our table. Great choice of food, with full explanations of all dishes given if required. I can not fault any part of this experience, the young trainees worked very hard to make sure everything went well. The staff were all very professional and it would have been easy believe you were in a “proper” restaurant. In fact I have had much worse food and service in many restaurants!
Very generous portions of food, very well presented and good service. Excellent value when full price but we were lucky to go when a 2 for 1 offer was on. I can definitely recommend and will without doubt visit again soon. Thank you and well done to the youngsters.
What a lovely pub!!
We had a table of 9 with dogs and they couldn’t have been more accommodating!
Beautiful Sunday roast, a good selection of starters and traditional hot puddings.
We had a selection of beef, pork, chicken and lamb and all meat was cooked beautifully and plenty of veg with a really tasty proper gravy!! Thank you so much for a lovely afternoon! The land lords were really lovely people xx
We were travelling home to England and all needed a breakfast ! We initially drove into the centre of Criccieth to find other cafes busy. We decided to journey home and stop at a roadside cafe if and when we saw one! Further down the road I saw a sign for Cafe and Fisheries and we immediately turned left and thank goodness we did ! We followed the forest road and came to a small pond and benches some swings and a cafe ! They allowed dogs which was great and as the weather was sunny we walked through the cafe and to the other side to a decked area overlooking a beautiful lake. The cafe was popular and some people we eating teas a cakes which also looked amazing ! We ordered 4 large breakfasts and were not disappointed ! Lovely friendly service and lovely food with a lovely view ! So glad we found this haven and didn’t get a bacon buttie from Criccieth as originally planned . This will definitely be our homeward journey breakfast stop off from now on !
This place is a real gem in the city centre. There’s a wide array of spices, germs and teas- so many it was hard to choose what to get. The lady who served me was very smiley and helpful so will definitely come back when next in the city.
