The best restaurants in Wales

Had an absolutly incredible evening! Rhank you so much to Precious and Peter, who went above and beyond to make sure my little sisters 18th birthday went smoothly. The good was amazing. The staff were amazing. The vibes were amazing!!! Thank you so much for helping to make the night extra special. Will definetly be back soon!!

I visited with my partner today and was served by both Peter and claudio. They were an absolute pleasure through out and made our visit very enjoyable. The food was delicious, especially the calamari. Will be returning in hopes of being served by these gentlemen again. Thank you!

Mina always offers a warm and comforting experience! The food is so delicious and reliably good. The atmosphere is magical and people are welcoming. Will always return to Mina's as we always have a great experience

Visited twice during our holiday and both evenings were excellent. All the staff were welcoming, informative and professional. Great atmosphere. The small plates all have an imaginative twist and having tried 10 different ones over the 2 visits there was no disappointment in any. Highly recommend.

Organizamos un baby shower en el Quill and Quote y no podría haber estado más contento con la experiencia. Paula y el equipo fueron más allá para asegurar que el día fue perfecto. La comida era encantadora, con una selección de sándwiches de dedos, pasteles y bollos. La presentación y la configuración también fue encantador. Los cócteles también nos encantó y bien presentado! Nos quedamos particularmente impresionados con Paul y el equipo. El servicio fue impecable, con personal atento que siempre estuvo a mano para ayudar y ofrecer asistencia. Fueron más que serviciales y el profesionalismo y la alegría de Paula hicieron que el día fuera aún más memorable. Recomendamos encarecidamente el Quill and Quote para cualquier ocasión especial. Gracias, Paula y el equipo, por una tarde realmente maravillosa.

Reservado el Quill y presupuesto para mi comida anual de Navidad con mi vecino Había leído excelentes comentarios. Y no me decepcionó. Fuimos recibidos por Corey. Su carácter afable era tan refrescante. Sentimos que el nivel de servicio de Corey y todo el personal era ejemplar. Es una rareza en estos días encontrar un servicio donde sientas que te cuidan durante toda tu visita. Fue más allá con Corey y el resto del personal. Tenía el tradicional pavo Chrisrmas con todos los adornos y pudín de Navidad para terminar. La comida era excepcional. Sabe a cena de Navidad casera. El vecino tenía la opción vegetariana de remolacha y calabaza butternut en croute. Sintió que era demasiada remolacha y no suficiente calabaza. Pero ella todavía estaba tan impresionada con la calidad de los ingredientes. Me alegro mucho de haber descubierto esta joya oculta. Sin duda volveremos a probar el almuerzo del domingo. Se sintió fatal al liquidar la cuenta, ya que no aceptan propinas en la tarjeta. Y no tenía dinero. En este nivel de servicio, usted desea dar propinas generosamente. Esperamos con interés mi próxima visita.

Sunday dinner was amazing. Could see everything was homemade and it was all very tasty. Puddings were great. Staff were lovely and welcoming. Might be out of the way on the a5 but definitely worth the detour.

Not worth the inflated price. Some of mains not up to standard. Extremely disappointed with minimalistic servings. Also, extremely difficult to access.

We left with a mixed experience of the Checkers after our stay in January. Highlight was the tasting menu. Fantastic courses each with a delightful blend and mix of flavours. Credit must be given to chef Andrew for his expertise and presentation style. Excellent too at £85. You will have to go far to find a tasting menu of similar quality and value. The service and hospitality though was solemn and sedate. Greetings on arrival were somewhat formal with little conversation and this was the approach to service throughout our evening and overnight stay. Each course being served without the passion they deserved, being functionally presented. We never saw Andrew either and he didn’t come out to chat to his guests. The overnight accommodation was very well presented with good facilities, although quite cold with the heating going off before we retired for the night. We can’t comment about breakfast as unfortunately we were slightly late after 9:30am due to an urgent family call we had., my partners mother being taken into hospital. We apologised to Rachel who advised that we were 8 minutes late and the kitchen had closed. There was only ourselves and another couple who stayed over that evening! A very strange way to treat guests who are paying well over £400 for the experience. So go to the Checkers for the excellent Michelin rated cuisine, but not if you expect warm service and hospitality to support the dining experience.

We've bought ice cream from here many, many times over the years. There are lots of places selling great ice cream in West wales, but this one is the best I've found.

We huddled in here on a damp August day and didn't want to leave. despite the very low ceiling and sloping floor we stayed for 2 coffees and some snacks and left very happy. A hidden gem.

This cute little cafe with a knockout mediterranean soup sits near the end of a narrow road to the sea in Church Bay, far off most of the main thoroughfares on Anglesey. It's worth the detour. Uniquely decorated (special shout-out to the hilarious "Wi-Fi Password" sign in the toilet), dog-friendly, and staffed with some of the most delightful people I encountered in Wales. There's a pay lot for parking just up the hill from the restaurant, although plenty of other cars seemed to be using the shoulder of the road for free parking (as they do on most of Anglesey!). If you're worried about someone dinging your vehicle, the pay lot is fairly inexpensive.

Delicious food and great staff, very friendly and helpful, would highly recommend the lamb makhani with keema naan!!!

I was so happy to find out nearly 40 years later that Mrs Will has taken over from her husband and is keeping the delicious catches coming. We had a lobster platter for two and it was better presented and tastier than any fish restaurant we've eaten in, anywhere in Europe. Fantastic!
