The best restaurants in Wales

Visited as a family of six on a Saturday evening. Service was excellent with lots of staff at hand. It wasn't overly busy at 6:30pm but got busier. The ability to take your own alcohol is great considering the cost of drinks these days. The menu choice was excellent. The speed at which the food arrived was very quick. All six meals were very tasty and plentiful. What we didn't eat we were allowed to put into boxes to take home. After receiving a dreadful take away here a good few years ago it was great to have a fantastic evening of good food and atmosphere. Thank you.

Had an absolutly incredible evening! Rhank you so much to Precious and Peter, who went above and beyond to make sure my little sisters 18th birthday went smoothly. The good was amazing. The staff were amazing. The vibes were amazing!!! Thank you so much for helping to make the night extra special. Will definetly be back soon!!

The reviews made up choose this restaurant and we were not disappointed. Visited Cardiff for the Christmas market and an overnight stay. This gem of a restaurant serves flavoursome food in generous portions. The sharing meze was delicious. The staff were really friendly and chatty. Thank you for a lovely evening!

Visited twice during our holiday and both evenings were excellent. All the staff were welcoming, informative and professional. Great atmosphere. The small plates all have an imaginative twist and having tried 10 different ones over the 2 visits there was no disappointment in any. Highly recommend.

Reservado el Quill y presupuesto para mi comida anual de Navidad con mi vecino Había leído excelentes comentarios. Y no me decepcionó. Fuimos recibidos por Corey. Su carácter afable era tan refrescante. Sentimos que el nivel de servicio de Corey y todo el personal era ejemplar. Es una rareza en estos días encontrar un servicio donde sientas que te cuidan durante toda tu visita. Fue más allá con Corey y el resto del personal. Tenía el tradicional pavo Chrisrmas con todos los adornos y pudín de Navidad para terminar. La comida era excepcional. Sabe a cena de Navidad casera. El vecino tenía la opción vegetariana de remolacha y calabaza butternut en croute. Sintió que era demasiada remolacha y no suficiente calabaza. Pero ella todavía estaba tan impresionada con la calidad de los ingredientes. Me alegro mucho de haber descubierto esta joya oculta. Sin duda volveremos a probar el almuerzo del domingo. Se sintió fatal al liquidar la cuenta, ya que no aceptan propinas en la tarjeta. Y no tenía dinero. En este nivel de servicio, usted desea dar propinas generosamente. What a delightful, polite young lady to serve us with a happy joyful smile. Popped in on an off chance as we were passing. Couldn't do enough for us, thank you for a pleasant visit. We will return, because of your pleasantries.

Myself and six members of my family checked in on time, we then presented the bar staff with our seven choices of our meals and the payment for all the meals. A reasonable time later all meals were delivered except for my meal of Rump Steak. I complained straight away but still had to wait until the other members of my party had almost finished their meals before my Steak meal was served to me. I would not have ordered the Seak meal if I had known how poor it was. A small portion of steak, difficulty cutting it as it was so tough. Some of the mushrooms were smaller than the peas which were not cooked and hard. Two tiny Onion rings, however, the Chips were ok. Others in the party also complained about problems with their meal, for example, my wife had the Hunter Chicken which again was very tough to cut and correspondingly almost too hard to eat. We as a group all agreed it was a very poor visit and decided not to visit the Owl again. A pity,as we all live reasonably close to the Pub.

We came here to celebrate our engagement after recently discovering its whereabouts on a walk. We had the 3 course set menu and it was all to die for!! I would recommend the venison steak, it is up there with one of the best meals I have eaten. The dining room was very cosy with little table lamps and a lit fire place. The staff were all lovely and we will certainly be retuning. Thank you

I walked by this lovely little place and saw the smoothie menu and had to try one. I’m very glad I did! I had the strawberry, banana, and mango smoothie made with apple juice. It was delicious. The staff were very friendly and service was quick. They also had lots of other lovely treats on the menu. Something for everyone. Quality was spot on and good price range too.

Lovely meal ar the superb Checkers - what a find in gorgeous Montgomery. Tasting menu was superb - the tasty ‘snacks’ at the outset set the standard for the rest of the meal. Stand outs were the brill and the beef courses but the carrot course was incredibly tasty too. Dessert courses also great - lemon posset with gel and strawberry with yoghurt, meringue and pistachios. Definitely worth a visit, great menu at a very good price.

I love this place. It's so small but so cute. There are some tables at the back, we had lots of fun playing with the travel trivia cards on the table! The coffee is lovely and staff are very friendly. It's a hidden gem!

This cute little cafe with a knockout mediterranean soup sits near the end of a narrow road to the sea in Church Bay, far off most of the main thoroughfares on Anglesey. It's worth the detour. Uniquely decorated (special shout-out to the hilarious "Wi-Fi Password" sign in the toilet), dog-friendly, and staffed with some of the most delightful people I encountered in Wales. There's a pay lot for parking just up the hill from the restaurant, although plenty of other cars seemed to be using the shoulder of the road for free parking (as they do on most of Anglesey!). If you're worried about someone dinging your vehicle, the pay lot is fairly inexpensive.

Amazing food. The Thursday deals give amazing value for money. From starters to desserts, food was great. We particularly love the vegetable samosas and onion Bajis. Desserts were a lovely way to end off the meal. Really good portions and great flavour. Service was great from start to visit. Very friendly and fast in getting drinks and food.
