The best restaurants serving African food in Wales

We have just returned from a fab few days in Tenby. Allium gave us a great base to explore the area. The rooms are exceptional and decorated to a really high standard. We also had lunch, and great chai lattes and flat whites. Would highly recommend the rooms and the cafe.

Great atmosphere and good food, lovely African music and food. decoration is nice and welcoming stuff.

We made a large order for afternoon tea for colleagues at work. It was excellent value with a great selection of sandwiches and cakes accompanied by tea/coffee and a packet of crisps. The cakes were delicious - I had tobelerone cheesecake and a lemon cake which were both very healthy portions and tasted amazing. Highly recommended, would definitely get again!

Just had a delicious Sunday lunch at Cleopatras bistro. It was very tasty, we will be returning very soon.

We weren’t greeted nor acknowledged when we entered the venue until we approached the lady ourselves and asked if we can be seated. Long waiting time for food and it wasn’t quite what we ordered, the one beef main was actually chicken with a distinct fish smell and taste due to it being cooked on the same grill as fish. As someone who doesn’t eat fish this completely ruined the taste for us. We weren’t asked about allergies/food preferences either. The fried plantain we ordered wasn’t served. Generally felt quite unwelcome as white people there.

The quality of the food has degraded, ordered goat curry , got mutton curry, maybe didnt read it much but the dish name says goat and instead selling mutton, the other dish we ordered had a very little portion as well. Other than that the service and atmosphere is still good but am unhappy with the food
