On cold and very wet December days, this cafe was a great place to warm up. I suspect it would be a great 'slice of Italy' at any time of the year. Excellent hot and tasty panini, homemade scones and hot coffee...very welcome and much needed. Great attentive and friendly staff. We will ready return (and have) to this great cafe. For us, a bonus is that it is nowhere near the city centre.
A great takeaway with lots to choose from. Their favourite phrase is “ 10 minutes” and that’s all it takes unless you go at peak times. Staff are reliable and aim to please. They all work hard here. The food is hot and delicious and portions are generous , try the prawn toasts which are massive.
Attended for Christmas lunch with colleagues. Three course lunch with coffee for £16. Good service.
This restaurant is the showcase for final year hospitality students at New College Lanarkshire. Open to the public.
Just had a hot salt beef bagel, with gherkins and mustard. It was delicious! Loads of beef on, I had to take some out to fit it in my mouth! Will definitely be returning. Lovely little shop with friendly staff.
Stumbled across this during or drive in Scotland and what a find. The service was great, food was tasty and what a view, really makes you feel relaxed and slow the pace down while enjoying your food. The location just made it extra special and good on them setting up in such an idyllic place.
Excellent lunch - burger and fish and chips - at very reasonable price (particularly for Dunkeld - one of the most expensive tourist traps I have experienced!). Fish was very fresh and well cooked and crispy and burger was well done and juicy. Chips fresh and hot. Accompanied by wine and bottle of lager. Very enjoyable. Service was very good - friendly waitress. Toilets well maintained and - very important for me - ladies and gents were quite separate - yay! Carried out two tubs of ice cream to have outside - delicious! Many quality items on sale in shop.
This is an excellent addition to eating possibilities in Dunkeld and would be my number one choice next time we visit. Delighted to recommend.
We stopped by for a coffee after a walk and it was really nice. Loved the decor, friendly service, and good coffee.
We also got cake too, and it was nice to see vegan options.
We very much enjoyed an amazing platter for two. A whole prepared lobster, champagne lobster pate, dressed crab, prawn cocktail, smoked salmon, hot smoked salmon, a box of super Greek salad, oatcakes, crusty bread. It was beautifully presented and delivered on a covered platter. Enough amazing food to last us a couple of days. Highly recommend all their products, produced by a small family business.
First time visit to Cafe Melba , and was a lovely experience. Coffee & Cake in a light , clean & airy surroundings. Staff so nice epecially Ella , a friend of ours ☕️🍰 Will defo be back !! The soap in the ladies was amazing- Whiskey & Honey .
Everything about The Factor’s House was first class.
The owner, Fiona, was welcoming, knowledgeable and readily available without being obtrusive.
The lounge, dining room and bedroom were tastefully decorated with lots of well thought out and tasteful extras.
We stayed in the Urquart room which was large and very comfortable with great views over the large garden and supplied with lovely extras eg. fruit, sweets, homemade shortbread.
Breakfast was plentiful and delicious.
We found nothing to fault in The Factor’s House or its peaceful surroundings.
I would certainly recommend a stay there
