Attended for Christmas lunch with colleagues. Three course lunch with coffee for £16. Good service. This restaurant is the showcase for final year hospitality students at New College Lanarkshire. Open to the public.

Nice lunch in at ml one, didn't realise it was a tapas menu today the waitress had to explain it. Larger portions were also available. Food was mostly superb but a few wee niggles/mistakes this time, however just let them know and they'll do their best to either replace it or take it off the bill. Very small complaints really but still let them know that's kind of what we're there for to give them viable feedback. Still highly recommend it I've been many times and will continue to visit regularly the only reason I'm writing this review is I've posted a photo of some of the tapas on offer and ta has attached it as part of the wrong review but it's for this one : ) salt and chilli squid, potato and chorizo qiesadillas, chicken and chorizo paella, butternut squash risotto and plaice with potatoes and peppers can't quite recall the menu name. For starters one of us had a melon and duck dish the other two (myself included) had white onion and chilli soup which was very very nice indeed. Deserts were ok the rice pudding with winter fruit compote could've been warmer and the poached plum sunday was very nice.

We went to ML One for lunch for 4 people. The restaurant is located in Motherwell College, but don't let this put you off. It is run as a full blown licences restaurant, staffed by students undergoing courses at the college. We booked a table for 4 the day before attending. We were taking my father out for lunch as it was his birthday.First thing I have to say is don't let the location put you off, the restaurant is just past the main reception of the college on the ground floor, and although sitting on a main corridor through the building, once inside you could be sitting in any upmarket restaurant anywhere. The décor is wonderful and the table settings immaculate. We were met at the door and shown to our table. The menu, although not a large selection we found it difficult to choose as what was available all appealed to our taste buds. There was a choice of three starters, three mains and two desserts. All 4 of us had difficulty choosing as the dishes offered all looked wonderful on the menu.We ordered our starters and mains. As it was lunch and we were driving, we all offered soft drinks although looking at the menu the price of alcoholic drinks was superb. E.g. Bottle of white wine £8.50, Bombay Sapphire Gin £2.00 (prices were correct at the date of our visit).Back to the food. The staff within the restaurant are all trained/training in 'silver service' and their manner and service was impeccable. Very friendly atmosphere, and lovely cutlery and tableware. I'm fussy and find that cheap cutlery can spoil a meal. The food. Absolutely fantastic. We had all three starters from the menu; Mussels, haggis and soup. I won't go into details on the starters but the presentation was superb. The food quality was second to none and was wonderfully presented. Main: We had the three mains from the menu; Burger, stuffed mushrooms and chicken tikka. These titles do not do the food justice but I would rather that you experienced the food first hand and not from my description. Some of the comments from the group were: very tasty, beautifully presented, great quality, very fresh, etc...We didn't have a dessert as this was only supposed to be a small lunch and everyone was full after the first two courses. The bill, the bill? Oh the bill?Let me just say that I have had two starters in a restaurant that cost more than the total food bill at ML One. It was excellent value for money. The total bill for the four of us having a two course meal with soft drinks was under £25. Yes, really. We have eaten in lots of restaurants with far higher costs and I have to say that many of those restaurants didn't serve food as good quality or provide service as good as we received at ML One. This is one restaurant that we will all be going back too.The restaurant also has themed nights which we are looking forward to attending in the near future.

Went to this restaurant for a Christmas Lunchtime meal.As we entered the restaurant we were greeted at the reception and taken to our table which was pre-booked.The Christmas décor on the table and the restaurant was first class. As soon as we sat down a staff member filled up our glass with lovely refreshing cold water and gave us the menu.Spoiled for choice, from starters to desserts. The food was freshly prepared and nicely decorated on the plates.Picture perfect. The staff was very attentive. After our meal we were invited to meet the Head Chef in the kitchen and the Head Baker.Very friendly and the kitchen and bakery was spotlessly clean.Highly recommended and will visit again.Keep up the good work!

We Visited ML1 Restaurant Last Night, For A Themed Night, As My Niece is Studying For Her HND In Hospitality Management, at New College Lanarkshire. What a Revelation! From the Minute we Entered the Restaurant & Were Greeted At the Reception, till We Left the Restaurant We Had A Fabulous TimeThe Front Of House Staff Waiters, Waitresses & Everyone Were So Professional & Could Teach Many Seasoned Hotel & Restaurant Staff a thing or 2.The Fact that They are only in Training, was Showcasing Some Stars Of the Future. Not Forgetting Either the Kitchen Staff, Our Future Chefs. The Food Was Second to None, & that is saying something, as I'm difficult to Please! The Waiter for our Table, David, will Go Far, He had Such a Sparkling Wit & Personality, But Most of All Had a Very Professional Work Ethic.Entertainment was also Provided for us Which was Excellent. it was a very Memorable Night & hopefully Won't be our Last Visit to ML1.To Anyone in the Lanarkshire Area, you Have a Hidden Gem Just Waiting to Be Visited & I would Highly Recommend This Restaurant to Anyone.

This hidden gem of a restaurant is part of the new college on the site of the former Ravenscraig site in Motherwell. The kitchen and restaurant are staffed by hospitality students at the college, so it helps to bear in mind that they are still learning. Having said that, the food was excellent and expertly presented. We were told that the students in the kitchen were under the watchful eye of a former Gleneagles chef, and it showed. The menu is limited to 2-3 starters but they all sounded appetising. For starters, we had the butternut squash velouté with goats cheese - delicious - and the pork with black pudding - first class (plate-lickingly good!)For mains we chose pheasant (very pleasant) and the mushroom risotto with Parmesan - very flavourful and ample portions. We tried the baked apple and the plum tart for deserts - very good but not the highlight of the meal. Total cost for two, including 2 mineral waters, was amazingly under £16We hope to come back soon.

What a superb lunch! Overall was much better than the 'taste' training restaurant at cumbernauld college. Menu was excellent with unbelievable prices. With the high quality of food it makes for ridiculously good value (laughably low prices). All high quality food cooked well. Really nice dishes and great service very quick and friendly our waiter was always smiling which is always nice. Highly recommend. its easy to forget your in a college and I would be happy paying a lot more for the same standard of food elsewhere theres even a lot of places nearby cant match this standard.

I've had the pleasure of visiting the Training restaurant in Motherwell college plenty of times, living locally, and it has never disappointed. The restaurant itself is tastefully decorated, don't worry that you will be in some canteen on lecture room in the college, this feels and trades like a proper real establishment, so as to give the students some real experience of the hospitality trade. The quality of the food is really very high, with the Tuesday - Thursday menu the "silver" students (second year I believe?) and the Mondays and Fridays menu belonging to the bronze level students (1st year?) This is reflected in the menus themselves which are usually available to view on their website, the former being of slightly more advanced dishes ( technically), but that's not to say I've not thoroughly enjoyed the salmon on a Friday! The menu comprises of choice of two starters, three mains and two desserts, there's always a vegetarian option on the starter and main, and its also licensed, so you can accompany your meal with a wine or beer should you wish! The food is some of the best I've had the pleasure of eating, always packed with flavour and perfectly cooked and presented, served with a lack of pretension by the smartly dressed students. The value is incredible, with starters usually about £2.50, mains about £3-4, and desserts at £2They also hold theme nights and days, the last of which I went to was the Wine Lovers event on Valentines night. £27.50 for 5 courses, with a drink included at each, accompanied by some interesting tasting notes from a wine specialist made for a fantastic evening, admittedly I was a bit tipsy by the time coffee was served, but it was a fantastic evening, again terrific value on a "premium" occasion night.Easily my favourite place to eat in North Lanarkshire, but be sure to book ahead, as it only serves lunchtimes (out with theme nights) usually taking booking between 12 - 12.45 (seating times.

Okay this is a restaurant within Motherwell College staffed and food made by the students BUT The quality of the food is at the top end and sophisticated.I would compare this to two fat ladies at the buttery in Glasgow. You need to book in advance and they only do lunch.I had a salad, salmon main and lemon tart with a latte and my wife had something similar - we shared a bottle of fizzy water total cost - less than £20.The downside is that you may need to return food if undercooked as these are students learning the trade but at this price that seems a good deal.

My friend and I had a lovely lunch yesterday. From the moment we walked in untill the moment we left, we were looked after and we had a lovely time. Both mains were delicious and beautifully presented. We should have taken photographs. I had a lovely surprise when the girls sang happy birthday to me when they brought our desserts, which again, were delicious. I would highly recommend going as everything was great. Thank you everyone.

This was our first time at Harrington’s as my friend kept telling me how good it was. Well all I can say is it was better than he said. Food was outstanding, and a great menu. John and the staff were totally outstanding with the service. Can honestly say best meal I’ve had in a long time dining out. Will definitely be back with my own family very soon. Once again thank you for inviting myself and my wife for a magnificent night out. Best regards Lord Short

Turned up in the off chance we could get a lunch table. Got a table no problem, everything was spot on, fresh cooked food, friendly service and freshly decorated building. 3 main courses, 2 puddings, coffee and 3 fizzy drinks for 3 people come to £50.. Couldn't have faulted the place. I had the baguette, plenty filling just the right amount of gravy and onions, was not overloaded, I had a side of chips and asked for a small jug of gravy to dip my chips in. 👌🏻 Wife had Sunday roast, beef wasn't quite ready so she got chicken, presentation was excellent and she also loved it. Just the right amount of food. So had a cheese toastie, he was not hungry at all. But what he did eat he liked it. I would definitely go back.

Amazing I got a chicken burger with southwest sauce, bacon was so crispy and salad was fresh, came with Cajun chips with southwest sauce on top and me and my partner would agree it is the best chips we have ever had. Will definitely be paying them a visit again.
