The Swan Pub in North Lanarkshire

Turned up in the off chance we could get a lunch table. Got a table no problem, everything was spot on, fresh cooked food, friendly service and freshly decorated building. 3 main courses, 2 puddings, coffee and 3 fizzy drinks for 3 people come to £50.. Couldn't have faulted the place. I had the baguette, plenty filling just the right amount of gravy and onions, was not overloaded, I had a side of chips and asked for a small jug of gravy to dip my chips in. 👌🏻 Wife had Sunday roast, beef wasn't quite ready so she got chicken, presentation was excellent and she also loved it. Just the right amount of food. So had a cheese toastie, he was not hungry at all. But what he did eat he liked it. I would definitely go back.

Yesterday,2nd March my daughter and her husband had their wedding reception at the Swan.From the word go ,the staff could not have been more helpful.Our first point of contact was with Caitlin ,who made the planning with Barbara seamless,any questions ask were clearly answered in a very professional and helpful manner, also she organised the setting for the day with her team to make Barbara and Lewis feel very special.The attention to every detail from the table settings to the meal to the ever so friendly staff was above and beyond.Everyone should be so proud of what you have all achieved at the Swan. You have all made two families very ,very happy.We will definitely be back to see you all, thank you so much for everything.

For the local community in Banton to raise the money to save their village pub is one thing, but to turn it into a hub for the village, hosting everything from yoga to quiz nights is truly remarkable. It shows you what we can achieve when we come together for the greater good.

I really enjoyed this wee gem of a place, food portions were great, I had a toasted egg,mayo, and bacon sandwich, the Mrs had the same as me but had white onion and thyme soup with a plane scone also and we both really enjoyed it was made even better when we found out it was dog friendly, we went back but was closed as its community run so alway better to phone ahead, but we'll worth a wee visit, staff are lovely ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I've had breakfast there many times and it is always lovely. My husband and I had a kid free evening and I wanted to have dinner there and we had a great meal! Portions were huge so I never finished but every mouthful was so tasty. The staff are so friendly and it was super reasonable.

We were attracted by the road signs of community owned pub, and we were delighted. The decor is lovely with a relaxed feel and welcoming staff. We had fish and chips and a pint, and really enjoyed it.

First visit, and won't be the last. Food, service, and atmosphere all pretty good for early afternoon on a weekday.

We had a wonderful meal here earlier this week when we visited family who have moved to Banton. Fantastic quality food and cooking, really warm and friendly service and everything clean and well presented. Thank you to everyone who made it happen!

Enjoyed a lunch at The Swan with friends and the food was excellent and the Staff were so friendly and helpful. The restaurant was pristine.

Small group of us went for afternoon tea to celebrate a birthday. The service was good and very accommodating. The food presentation was lovely and very tasty. If I had to make one negative comment it would be that the scones though delicious were quite large and some of us had no room for cake! Problem solved, we asked for a doggy bag! Thoroughly enjoyed it, plan to check out the new main menu. Definitely would recommend a wee visit to check it out.

Visited the swan a couple of times whilst in the area on holiday, and it really is a fantastic place.Food was fantastic, and good value for money.Staff were excellent and made a great fuss of the two dogs.Best of all was the welcome from the regulars.Whilst some pubs can be a little bit territorial, the swan was anything but.Both times we visited we were made to feel extremely welcome, and enjoyed great fun and conversation with the other customers, almost as if we were one of the family.A great place to visit.

I visited The Swan for dinner. I like the new menu and can recommend the Prawns PilPil, the fishcake, the ox cheek( divine) ,steak pie and fish and chips. The waitress was a cheery,efficient girl who was attentive without being intrusive.

I've been here a couple of times now, and we will be back again. This is a lovely place for lunch/dinner and has a small bar area. Both times we had more than 8 in our party and everything ordered got thumbs up. They have a decent size menu at a good price for really great quality food. All ran and owned by the locals. Great to see an old local brought back to life and done well. Only thing missing was the cheeseboard 😉

Great place to eat. Lovely warm, welcoming atmosphere. Our waitress, Rhiannon, was smiley and chatty, lovely friendly girl, as were the rest of the staff. Food was delicious and generous portions. We’ve been a few times now and it’s always been consistently good!

Very friendly pub, with excellent food at very reasonable prices, with children's menu, gluten free and vegan options We ate in the bar area, as we had our dog with us. Free drink for our furbaby too.

Fantastic! We will definitely visit again! The staff were lovely. Very welcoming, and helpful as we had a food allergy amongst the group. The food was amazing; I cannot rate the Macaroni Cheese highly enough. Hubby had the steak pie, and it looked absolutely delicious. Stopped by on the off chance they could squeeze us in, since we were out for a run in the car. Very glad we decided to stop. Thank you to The Swan for a lovely lunch :)

We popped in for a late lunch on a Saturday but were seated with no problems. Would recommend making a reservation though as it got quite busy in the hour or so we were there. The food was excellent and very reasonably priced for the quality. I had the steak pie which was particularly good. Service was also excellent, the waitress was very friendly and extremely helpful as well. Overall an excellent dining experience which I hope to repeat very soon!

The Swan was very warm and welcoming and served the most comforting meals by a lovely waiting staff team. However it is a shame that these friendly employees are being taken for granted and are not cared for by their superiors. I have witnessed disgusting harassment taken place inside the restaurant, not by workers, but one of their regulars who happens to own The Cross Butchers in Kilsyth. It makes me sick that this person has not been barred. As someone who has had their own experience dealing with harassment in their own place of work and knows exactly how degrading it feels, I'd like to think that the owner(s) will soon take their heads out their backsides and do something about the inappropriate physical and verbal advances that this person makes towards this lovely team of staff rather than dismiss it. Good luck to the workers at The Swan who are a pleasure to be served by, I hope you are treated better in the future.

In for Sunday lunch sat in the bar area as had not booked. But was well looked after food was excellent 👌 and nice coffee to finish of. Pleasant atmosphere and friendly staff. Worth a visit.

My wife and I have went several times now and through our recommendation many of our family members have went and we have all had great experiences, with friendly staff. The only negative thing I could say is that their coffee although good is exceptionally hot when I first comes out however as this is a personal gripe and people may like this aspect of the coffee I did not remove a star.

This little restaurant/pub is incredible. You will 100% not be disappointed by the service and food. I have many allergies and the vegan and gluten free menu are something all restaurants should aspire to. Not only was there multiple options available but they were incredible. I’m not from the area but if I’m ever anywhere close to this restaurant I will be sure to return and bring friends and family with me. The pictures don’t even do it justice More people should know about this place

Scotlands first ever community owned restaurant ! This lovely place serves breakfast on the weekend and great meals during the week. We had 3 meals here in one week! Prices are reasonable and portions are large. They seem to be a tad understaffed, on a busy Friday night our waitress barely gave us the time of day. Might have to consider hiring an extra hand ! The interior is fresh and new, the food is delish and the gentleman running the place on the weekends is lovely !

Fabulous and superb place. When you know the history of Banton you would love its character.

I grew up in Blanton as the son of the preacher man and in those days the Swan as a bedraggled duck really. I went back the other day, some 48 years later and what a transformation. Great food, chilled out atmosphere and very friendly staff. Go there, it's worth it and they need the support. 👍

Never been to the Swan for years and then visited twice within a week with my elderly parents and disabled Auntie as its fully accessible for them and then back today with my family to taste the great food again. With big, well priced, freshly cooked crispy battered fish, and locally sourced beef for their Sirloin , burgers and steak pie we all agreed this place is a wee hidden gem and well worth a visit, Well done to Craig and his team for providing great food and excellent service and looking forward to our next visit.
