We stopped by for a coffee after a walk and it was really nice. Loved the decor, friendly service, and good coffee. We also got cake too, and it was nice to see vegan options.

One of the loveliest indie cafes I've been in - rural or urban. Amazing baking, beautiful design and atmosphere. Well worth a detour if not on your itinerary.

An impromptu visit to the beautiful wee village of Straiton, wouldn’t be complete without a pit stop in this fab little independently owned cafe. This was my second visit and it didn’t disappoint - a warm welcome and the most delicious cheese scone I will ever have, served on beautiful crockery and the coffee is fab too! 😋 A must visit if you’re ever passing through Straiton. Thank you so much and I shall return soon😊

During a trip up to Scotland to from the South West of England to visit my parents, they insisted on taking me on a trip to a couple towns over just for a visit to this little gem of a café… and I’ll certainly be requesting another visit on my next venture up North! The café itself is lovely; a very relaxed and homey atmosphere… both small enough to enjoy chatting to other patrons if you want a community feel, but also separate enough if you wish to enjoy your conversations privately. Having a career in baking myself with past barista training and a self confessed coffee snob, I was very impressed by the quality of both the cakes on offer and the hot drinks. My plain scone (offered with cream, jam and butter) and mocha with hand whipped cream were both delicious and very skilfully made; I definitely should have gotten some more cakes to take home with me! All very reasonably priced, too. Just to put a cherry on top of this delight, Arno the owner was as lovely as could be. I’d very highly recommend a visit!

Rather by accident, we stopped in Straiton today, as my son wasn’t feeling very well. So, we went in search of coffee and found The Buck. From the old style painted sign, to the wooden floors it has a wonderful old fashioned feel. We sat down and there were lots of interesting books which I read with my children. The owner was friendly and welcoming and a had a great range of coffee and cakes. They also sell a selection of gifts and crafts. It’s a lovely village and a great cafe. I really recommend visiting.

After a lovely walk around Cornish Hill and Loch yesterday, my friends and I stopped off at this wonderful little coffee and cake cafe on the Main Street in Straiton. What a find! Super friendly welcome from the owner and the interior was right up our street with a cosy and relaxing atmosphere. The perfect pit stop and all the super yummy sweet treats were home baked and served on beautiful crockery. We had the mixed berry crumble, deep filled apple pie and rhubarb and yoghurt cake with homemade rhubarb jam: all served with a dollop of fresh cream 😋 Great coffee as well! Highly recommend and we will be back.

Stopped on way to walk in Stinchar Valley and again on the return as the coffee, apple pie and crumble was so good. Sitting outside in the Autumn sun, was a real treat and what a friendly welcome for us holiday makers. Lovely interior, lovely owner and lovely all round. Check the Facebook for open times, but the pictures say it all. We will come back when in the area.

Amazing experience, The Buck has a beautifully designed interior that sets a calm aura perfect to make you feel like the main character in a book, the owner is kind and makes conversation if you want so don't worry if you have social anxiety and scared about going:) ! The cakes/scones are delicious and for kids they could have hot chocolate or adults which i wouldn't judge you buy because it is delightful. The prices are reasonable as they are a small run business who recently opened after the lockdowns! They offer books to read if you are interested too :D

What a great find: a good value, good food, good service wee place. Homemade soup was delicious, scones were huge, the place was packed at lunchtime and I will go nowhere else when I'm back in Prestwick. Well done.

The café has a really warm and welcoming environment. The staff leave you to it but are very friendly and personable if you need any help. My boyfriend and I went here for just a couple of hours whilst we were on our holiday but we wish we could go more often as it was such a lovely place - it felt like they had their own little community. Big thanks to the staff and we hope that your business is thriving. We also managed to pick up a great game - Wildlands - which we had great fun playing that evening (would recommend).

Always great to stop by and grab a cappuccino and, if a little on the more expensive side, it certainly beats the big coffee chains! Highly recommended.

We visited yesterday and was very disappointed with food. We ordered fish & chips what we got was 4 fish goujons and frozen chips with salad which was mostly packet lettuce 1 pint orange juice halfpint shandy and 1 mocha. Price £49 00. Not worth the money
