We had lunch in here before our distillery tour. The decor is nice and the staff are friendly. We both had sandwiches and they were so tasty and surprisingly filling. There was a great selection of cakes too so couldn’t resist. The lemon and blueberry cake was delicious and the portion was large! You can buy whisky flights here too if you fancy a tasting session.

We have been regulars since Autumn 2023 and the coffees, cakes and staff are second to none. This includes those that work in the Whisky Visitor Centre, of whom we have met. Super friendly, conscientous, attentive, genuine folk who always have cheery smiles and pleasantries. Top notch service! As we go there so often, for us it actually feels like family! We won't look past this cafe now. It's definitely 'our go to' place for a leisurely pleasant morning coffee...and on occasion some lunch as well. We have no hesitation in recommending Cafe Melba!

We visited on an unusually hot day and what a welcome retreat this was from the heat outside. We sat inside with our dog and he appreciated the cool tiled floor. The cafe is bright, clean and fresh looking. The tables are spaced well apart. The coffee was full of flavour and the scones one fruit one plain came with soft butter and a pot of jam. They were light and tasty. The staff were welcoming and efficient. We will visit again when in the area and maybe try one of the platters for lunch.

My wife and I visited Cafe Melba out of curiosity for a late lunch and we were bowled over. Though the food choice was limited, it was top quality buffet style. We chose different cold platter choices and we were very happy. This was top quality food, in generous quantity, served up with genuine friendly service. The cafe and services have been fitted with no expense spared. It is very comfortable with an option to sit in the outdoor courtyard. We had been to events in the old distillery but the new owner has raised the bar, and some.We can’t wait to return with friends. A suggested improvement would be to provide the same quality of seating throughout.

We came for food and drinks before the distillery tour and they were all really friendly and helpful. We also had the 3 x 15ml whisky tasting delight which was cheap as chips at £8 which put us in the mood for the Bladnoch tour. Brilliant day out, thank you

I have longed for a cafe doing vegan food in the area so chuffed that I can go out for lunch locally. Thankyou so much for having vegan options. We will be back. Xx

We had lunch (4 adults) following a tour of the distillery. Although a relatively limited deli-style menu (being mid-December), the quality and quantity of food was excellent, complemented by friendly and efficient service. We particularly enjoyed the tomato quiche and panini, and the the cold platter was comprehensive and delicious.

Lovely fresh and airy cafe visited whilst picking up a couple of bottles of the local produce. Coffee was spot on and cream scones delicious, so would recommend to anyone visiting the area.

We were in Galloway on holiday and this was one of the few days when it rained. It was torrential. We'd been book hunting in Wigtown and most of the cafes there looked uncomfortably full for us. Everyone has their tolerance level with Covid safety and we are quite risk averse. So we headed to the distillery, intending only to buy a bottle of whiskey. But they had a spacious cafe which allowed dogs. Lots of room between tables and proper procedures being followed. The menu was very limited with only a soup and cakes/pastries. Given the weather we went with the soup which was delicious. Though I did feel sorry for the people who came after us as they ran out of soup very quickly and could only offer cake. The coffee was great and the staff very friendly. A great find though we wish they'd had a slightly more extensive menu.

Nice coffee and scone. Pity only one type of jam on offer. Strawberry is not my favourite flavour. Plenty of variety on menu otherwise.

Had a great lunch and some festive drinks too - the soup was great and the eggnog and mulled wine were fabulous.

Cafe Melba offers truly delicious food, with vegetarian and vegan options. Quality is king here. The coffee is flavoursome: neither too strong nor too weak. A range of other drinks are available, including the outstanding Bladnoch whiskies. The staff are welcoming and service is faultless. The newly opened building is light and airy. A treat not to be missed,

After a great morning walking in the Galloway Forest, we called in at the CatStrand. Wow, what a gem of a place.its a gift shop with interesting books and art. But the best surprise is the cafe. Serving the best haggis and baked potato ever! We have called their butcher to buy more haggis. They have a nice selection of local beers to wash down a haggis lunch Also, check out their entertainment evenings. We will be back!

Just had lunch at Jinty-B's in Thornhill, Dumfriesshire. Gorgeously quirky, comics wallpapering the cafe, great home-made toasties & cake, hot tea & coffee & everything is immaculate. Perfect for family groups & very dog friendly.

This cafe served the worst scone I have ever had / didn't have. (and that's saying something as I'm in my 70s and have had a few in my time. You could build a house with a few of them. Inedible expensive rubbish. It came in a paper bag, no plate and a wooden disposable knife which struggled to cut it. The coffee was served in a paper cup. But was drinkable. Cost over £13 for two coffees and two inedible scones. I am disgusted and will definitely won't be back
