I ate here two nights on the trot while staying in Grantown-on-Spey for a short break. We enjoyed the food so much on the first night that we booked in again before leaving. Really good quality food and inexpensive. The restaurant itself is fairly small, which I like, and nicely but informally set up. The staff are friendly, attentive and helpful. All in all, pretty much everything that you'd want from a Thai restaurant. Grantown-on-Spey is also such a lovely place so it's great that it has Po Pia as a nice option to have dinner.

Have tried to visit here on three separate occasions and unfortunately still not able to get through the door. Having driven past and seen scones and coffee advertised we stopped but were greeted with a multitude of signs saying it was residents only and you had to call in advance . Driving past a week later we thought we would stop again having seen the sign out the day before. Again we weren’t able to cross the threshold . It’s a shame it’s a nice looking place and it ihas outdoor space that literally in a year I have seen one couple sitting at . I’m not sure what’s going on - perhaps staffing issues but I’m not sure I’ve gone to a stranger place that advertises on a public raid that it has refreshments but then doesn’t let you in

Great food, steak and fish cooked to perfection, served with really good chips. Went for deserts too, which we don’t normally go for, butter tablet ice cream hit the spot.

My dinner partner and I had an excellent informal evening catching up. The food was excellent. I had the best Dhansak I've tasted in a long time, my dining partner thought his Garlic Chilli dish was superb. Well recommended and a wonderful bonus to have such quality near where we live.

I checked google, hidden Scotland and this site ALL said it was open on Tuesday. Drove past our usual coffee place to come here and found a sign on the door saying closed Tuesdays!

Menu was very poor choice & nothing like on website. Ended up with a poor quality wine at £9.00 per glass & a chicken burger which I didn’t eat as boring (would have preferred a McDonald’s one which would have been a lot cheaper!) Husband had cheeseburger which was average, nothing special. Place is very dark & we needed our phones to read menu. Waitress wasn’t very good. Overall, underwhelming & disappointing!

Une cuisine innovante et originale, une très bonne ambiance. Il est préférable de réserver une table. Surtout essayer le haggis revisité, je ne me souvient pas du nom du plat mais sous forme de croquettes avec une émulsion de pomme de terre ! Incroyablement bon... Les autres plats aussi sont excellents.

We thought the bread and pastries looked very nice, and there was a very brisk trade going on. Very disappointed with almond croissants. Dry, no taste, over baked and very heavy. The same with the pain au chocolat. Heavy, dry, afraid we did not enjoy and threw them away. The seeded tin loaf was moist and well made however. The service was quick and efficient.

We visited this Cafe after a long walk in the forest. Dogs are welcome inside the cafe. Inside there is a log burning stove, which was very welcome, the cafe had a nice rustic feel they do there own baking and my wife described the scone as the best she had. The coffee was lovely. We had visited the Cafe at the Cheese makers across the road which was very nice but had to sit outside with the dog. We will certainly be back here, probably for a lunch next time.

I booked the Glenaden Hotel to provide a funeral tea for 30 people after a private internment in Ballater . Neil , the owner could not have been more helpful in organising this for a very reasonable price. We were delayed at the cemetery but a quick call alerted the staff who said no problem Once there we were given a private area for the family with its own bar and toilets . The food supplied was fresh and plentiful and there was unlimited tea and coffee . The staff were friendly and always available. We were told we could stay as long as we wished and that was great because everyone had come from far afield . It was a nice end to a sad day . We intend visiting again for food when next in the area .

Absolutely the perfect place to have afternoon tea and our anniversary dinner this year! Gorgeous surroundings, delicious and well-curated food selections, and the most outstanding service. We couldn’t help but feel a bit like royalty during our afternoon tea in the living room and during our anniversary dinner the next evening in the dining room. The staff is so welcoming and elevates the experience to world class levels. And can we talk about the wine list? Beyond excellent! We capped off our dinner meal with a few fabulous cocktails from Elsa’s and enjoyed them by the fire with the piano adding more beauty to the ambience. Memories were created that will keep us thankful and smiling until the next time we make it to Braemar and The Fife Arms. Thank you to all the staff at The Clunie and Elsa’s Bar

Stopped in for lunch after a hike in the National Park. Service was decent to start with, but not a welcoming atmosphere unless you are a local… ordered our food (2) burgers, first bite into the one there was a piece of plastic that had been cooked into the patty. Finished what we could and then had to go tell the waitress as she hadn’t come to check on how our meal was. She went “oh sorry, I’ll take that off the bill” handed me the bill and the proceeded to re-engage with other people at the restaurant. Shite!
