The best restaurants in Elgin City South Moray Highlands and Islands

The best place to eat in Elgin. Everything is fresh and delicious, soups, wraps, bagels and daily specials. One word of advice when you do visit, ALWAYS leave room for the cake! ( or get it to take away, you won’t regret it.)

Zaika is the best Indian takeaway in Elgin without a doubt. It’s a small family owned takeaway and everything is cooked fresh. I can honestly say I have never had a bad experience here. My favourite is the Chicken Tikka Masaladar, it’s very spicy with a kick but also has a sweet tang to it. Highly recommend this. I have tried most of the speciality dishes and they are just equally as good.

Lovely cafe, lovely coffee made very quickly despite having a pretty full cafe, lovely service!

Best lunch I’ve eating in Elgin and very affordable

The Bearded Chef catered our Wedding in September and the food was fantastic! Aaron and Kayleigh were both absolutely amazing and we can't thank them enough. The menu was tailored to us with new dishes and a personalised wedding cocktail as the welcome drink. The canapés were great but the main meal really stole the show. Melon with sorbet, smoked salmon and lentil soup were our choice of starters. Followed by haggis sagaloo pie, chicken stuffed with chorizo mousse with paprika sauce, fondant potatoes & veg medley and sweet potato cakes as the 3rd option. For dessert we had a trio so everybody could have a bit of everything. Highly recommend Bearded chef and would definitely use them again in future.

Best Indian meal ever. Always beautiful and the Naan breads are second to none. (cheese and garlic) worth every penny and the owner is always just lovely. 🥰. can’t wait to order again soon thank you Zaika

I have been twice and on both occasions the meal has been superb. Great service and all staff extremely helpful.

Beech tree is always a pleasant experience and I enjoy knowing the students progress so well though their training. They are always exceptionally polite and considerate. The food is exceptional though last time there was one flaw, the sugar in the lemon pie had not fully dissolved, so the texture was grainy and too sweet. I know from my own experience how easy it is for this to happen, so not a criticism as an observation.

Always delicious food and great service

Nice quiet place for a pint. The fire was lit which added to the atmosphere. Music was always on (no juke box, just music piped through by the bar staff). Good pool table too.

Came here after having seen they won some awards. Unfortunately left very disappointed. Food was very bland. Garlic King prawns were chewy.. The chicken pakora was nice. Away for a McDonald’s instead. Personally wouldn’t recommend.

Lovely family party there, can't fault food and service, excellent, only draw back was that the carpark was on the smaller side. There is parking nearby but shame it wasn't on grounds.
