The best place to eat in Elgin. Everything is fresh and delicious, soups, wraps, bagels and daily specials. One word of advice when you do visit, ALWAYS leave room for the cake! ( or get it to take away, you won’t regret it.)

Nice quiet place for a pint. The fire was lit which added to the atmosphere. Music was always on (no juke box, just music piped through by the bar staff). Good pool table too.

I recently visited Pizzeria Planta in Elgin for breakfast, and it was a truly delightful experience. I opted for the French toast, served with fresh berries, Greek yoghurt, berry compote, and honey, alongside a cup of Earl Grey tea. The French toast was absolutely delicious – cooked to perfection. Unlike other versions I’ve tried that have felt quite heavy or stodgy, this was light, fluffy, and beautifully balanced. The fresh zestiness of the berries, the creaminess of the yoghurt, and the sweetness of the honey and jammy berry compote made for a perfect combination. The restaurant itself is modern, tastefully decorated, and clean. The staff were attentive, friendly, and made the experience even more enjoyable. I highly recommend Pizzeria Planta for a breakfast treat. It’s a gem in Elgin and a spot I’ll definitely return to.

I ordered Vegetarian sausages. When my food arrived my sausages did not present themselves as vegetarian so I had a family member try them. I asked a waitress if they were vegetarian to which she went and asked the kitchen. Turns out there had been a mistake made and they had gave me REAL sausages. This is a serious mistake to be made. I will not be returning.

Edit: went back to Badenoch’s after they changed ownership. The service was still, not very good, but the food came out quickly. However, I ordered the chicken tenders, which to my knowledge were meant to be plain southern fried tenders, however, they had some sort of sauce all over them, making the sauces served on the side a bit useless. I don’t know if they just haven’t updated their menu, but it definitely caught me off guard. Also the table we sat out was dirty, so I’m not sure how clean they keep the place these days. I’m upping to 3 stars because the food was better, albeit a little strange. Went here on a trip to Elgin before moving and was not impressed. The staff were really nice but the food took over an hour to come because they only had one chef, understandable, but they should warn customers. When the food finally came, our starter came out with the rest of the food which was irritating but whatever, we were very hungry by this point, but unfortunately the burger buns were stale and fell apart immediately after being picked up so we had to both eat our burgers with a knife and fork and no bun. Definitely won’t be back for food but again, the bar staff were very kind and that’s why I gave at least 2 stars.
