Forget fish and chips. If this place is open go in a buy a smokie to eat on the harbour. Get it split and microwaved. I paid ÂŁ7.50 for mine which is more than a couple of years ago but it is well worth it. See picture. Very friendly and helpful staff. I was the man on his way down from Aberdeen!
The Hollies is a community cafe in the heart of Musselburgh. It offers very good food at a reasonable price. Apart from what is available on the menu there is always soup, a dish of the day and a sweet. The staff are very friendly and helpful and its the kind of place you can go to on your own without feeling out of place.
Went in for breakfast in the morning. Nice place, nice service, good food and fresh scones too.
One big issue though; the premises was absolutely freezing cold, to the point customers were shivering and kept their jackets on.
Not good!!! Heating should be on in time for the place opening to the public and seeing customers sitting in jackets should bet of alarm bells if you work there or own the place

I recently tried the macaroni pie at Ashers and it was a pleasant surprise. The pastry was golden and flaky, perfectly complementing the creamy, cheesy filling inside. The macaroni was cooked just right not too soft not too firm and the cheese sauce had a nice balance of richness and flavor without being too heavy. It had a comforting, homemade feel that made it very satisfying.

After attending church at Glasgow, I was walking down the road, the aroma of the Indian cuisine at Tik Tok restaurant brought me to taste the soft and fluffy naan and the spinach lamb curry is really âout of the worldâ. And the mint and lime drink just made my day by quenching my thirst and filling my stomach. Donât miss it. đ
This is my favourite place in Edinburgh to get bubble tea. Some of the other places are really hit or miss, but this one is always consistently good. Reasonable prices too.
Iâd recommend the Lychee Fruit Tea with Mango balls!
It is run by volunteers helping to raise money for the church. It could be called a hidden gem as not that many people know about it, with a wide selection to choose from it is very good value for money.

Great wee place for a stop on a long walk. Decent selection of very well filled rolls, home baking etc. Good coffee too. Busy place which is a good sign probably helped by really nice staff.
Excellent food every time and friendly staff, best Donner kebab in Glasgow by far. Pizza plus deals are bang on and the chilli burger and chips is banging too.
Great place to get food to go hot and cold filled rolls. Soup, wraps, burgers and cakes. Hot and cold drinks. Made fresh to order. Plus newspapers, essentials. Friendly staff always happy to chat.
We came across this place as it was recommended on North Harbour restaurantâs Facebook page and boy we were not disappointed! We had the lobster and chorizo bisque and scallops to start- both of which were out of this world. For mains we had fish, which was fresh and beautifully presented and the venison steak which was so soft and juicy. Ginger and date pudding was a glutinous extra but we couldnât resist how good it looked on a neighbouring table - fluffy, tasty and rich. :) We canât wait to come back already!
