The best restaurants in Northern Ireland

Ordered on Just Eat and what they sent me (very late} was rubbish and cold All the chips were tiny scrapings . It was just awful !!!!

We waited nearly 1 hour for our mains. Lots of waiting staff on shift and standing at the till area but there mustn't be anyone co ordinating them. Different staff at our table everytime and we had to get the staffs attention going past us to get new drinks orders. The food was OK/average. Chips not great. The girl at the till at the end was rude. For no reason. We'll not be going back here again. Used to be so much better in every way. Date of stay: July 2024

Tried to order online but wouldn't work so went walked down to shop. Have ordered many times when in Bangor with no issue as recently as a few months ago. This evening at 6pm placed my order with girl on counter, went to pay, the girl wouldn't take cash ( which I always paid with), told her I didn't have a card she just repeated we don't take cash. Another customer lost.

This Mauds has always been somewhere I'd avoid, but I was in a rush and it was the closest cafe. Thinking "how badly can they mess a crepé up?", I gave it another shot. Expecting something fresh (as they used to serve here), I was horrified to see the disinterested staff member shove a pre-made crepé into a tiny air-fryer. After a lengthy wait (longer than it takes to make a fresh crepé), I was treated to a cold, hard cone of disappointment, remembering it cost £6 with each bite taken. No napkins or cutlery were provided, nor was it made clear where to get them. The layout of this place is terrible. Ice cream, crepes, churros, and some cold drinks seem to be served from the front, while hot drinks and sandwiches can be bought from a counter at the back. There's very few tables, and combined with the dirtiness and exclusive use of paper plates and plastic cutlery, you wonder why they don't operate purely as a takeaway. This "café" is an embarrassment to Mauds and customers visiting who may have been to other Cafe Mauds like those in Belfast will be bitterly disappointed. I can't stress this enough, AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS. Please don't be tempted by its great location, walk to one of the many other great cafés in Portrush. Babushka, Follow Coast, Ocean Deli, My Pie and Ground are all amazing spots for brunch nearby. Milk Parlour and Morelli's are excellent for ice cream.

The chips were very tasty and a decent quantity. However the chicken fillet burger consisted more of crispy batter than actual chicken. I thought I was going to break my teeth with the amount of crispy batter or else have a heart attack. Amazing chips but let down by the batter. I paid a whooping £10.50 for my chips and battered chicken fillet. I would like to point out however that the business was amazingly clean and spotless and someone was wiping the benches when I was getting served.

they took my money alright but sadly the food never came! contacted to get a response as to why a week ago heard nothing , no apology , no replacement order , no refund , stole my money and ignoring all contact which has left me to leave a review here to see if they will wake up and answer! i have a video doorbell no driver ever came to my door with food ........... bunch of robbing b*******s

It’s not the first time I have placed an order for our business and we never had any issues before. We have been their customers for many years. This is the first time I ended up in a really unpleasant situation. 5/09/24 I placed an order at 7.30pm and was waiting for it as usual. The driver rang me and said that he was outside but I said I didn’t see him on the cameras (we can see the whole street here and it was never an issue for their drivers to park in front of our premises) so he hung up. Then he rang me again saying he is parked outside but again, I don’t know where he went as he wasn’t beside our premises. I tried to explain to him where we are but he started arguing and he said “Are you coming to get this order or what” I said “I do need this order but can’t just go outside not knowing where you are, looking for you” so he hung up. I rang back to the store on Lisburn road, from which I always order and got to talk with Kristina. She said she will send a different driver as this one came back to the store with our order. So I said that’s ok, and I will wait for him and once again nobody came. As I mentioned before we can see the whole street and there was only my car parked. So I rang her back and she said that the driver is outside when he wasn’t. It was really frustrating as I have ordered from my business before, many times and we hadn’t had any issues like this. I rang their local store for the third time and Kristina refused to give me their head office number and cancelled our order. She also hung up on me twice. So this ended up really ugly. With this customer service we received today I don’t feel happy to order for my business from them again. Nobody likes to be treated this way

Big mistake fish batter on one side was soggy and not much fish. Chips were anaemic and soggy. Go to Clarence instead

Nice cafe in a great locations on a Game Of Thrones site that attracts bus tours. Pretty ridiculous that they can’t cope with a bus load of people wanting to buy their food! Was told wait for toasted sandwich was 5 mins so placed order and paid £28! After 25 mins had to leave without food as coach was departing! The lady cooking was clearly stressed but shouting at the poor lad who was trying to appease an endless stream of paying customers wasn’t great.

Disorganised coffee shop.People standing around inside drinking takeaway coffee Coffee was literally thrown at me.Milk was in a paper coffee cup. Won't be back again

Just watch they take double payments on drunk people, and make up own pricing after a certain time, 30 pound for chicken popcorn 3 chicken tenders chips and gravy and a drink BASICALLY we got the last scraps ....they said this is the REAL PRICE 😂😂😂😂

just had a very dry and tiny fillet burger that tasted of nothing and some limp cold chips that tasted of nothing, the piece of chicken and corn was ok. total waste of 8 quid. buy a Chinese instead

Probably the worst carvery we have ever had! The main course was soup and it was very very salty. The main course was very average and extremely bland. The staff looked fed up and were uninterested in anyone.

Not good at all - expensive to start (but to be fair everywhere is now) but the food was poor. Onion rings were soaked in grease and right through the paper. Couldn’t eat them after the first one as they were too greasy. The chip was a pretty small portion and again very greasy. Even the kids eat only half of theirs. Maybe I called on a bad night but I’m afraid I won’t be back.

Went in on Tuesday for 2 for 1 deal my food was disgusting had mold and flys coming out of the box. Asked for a manger and some fat mess came stomping over with her fingers down her dunnes stores wannabe flares. She came back over and waved her hand around the place the smell of fish coming from her fingers nearly made me be sick in her face
