The best restaurants in South Eastern NI

We had great food and the staff were lovely. They do great vegetarian options with tofu in different sauces, all of which are delicious.

Tried Lick again tonight, still open till 10pm on 30th Aug 23. Again, a really good selection of ice cream flavours. Must be about 12 - 16 flavours, the biggesf flavour range of any ice cream cafe I have been to. I had a 3 scoop tub with Fudge, Lotus biscoffi and coconut with lime. Tub was £4 which I think is very good for this quality of ice cream. Coconut with lime was really good. All the flavours tasted as usual would expect and were delicious. Staff were on the ball and pleasent. Without a doubt, lick is at the top level with all of Ireland's best ice cream cafes. Will definitely return on a regular basis.

The BBQ pulled pork and cheese toastie was beautiful omg. Great service and loved seeing Lauren there hehe #workingwoman 😏

This is thE best place for baked goods, and offers a wide range of desserts and snacks. Haven’t been there in a while but can still remember the taste of some things.

27/09/2024 After waiting 10 minutes to firstly Order food, waited for anther 40 minutes and still no food arrived. Was told by staff member it wasn’t them that had taken our order but whoever did, must have forgotten to put order into kitchen. Staff did apologise but in all honesty they didn’t really seem bothered or checked if food was even on its way. We Left and had to go elsewhere which again staff didn’t seem that Bothered about. Very very disappointed as the place had came recommended

A grand wee place but probably not for the young and trendy. It might be described as 'a safe pair of hands' with very pleasant staff a solid if unspectacular menu and well cooked, tasty food. I guess it's pet friendly, at least in the covered outdoor seating.

Excellent Mediterranean food and reasonably priced. We stopped here for Sunday lunch and both got the barbecue steak and chicken filled wraps. Just excellent.

Nice friendly staff with a pleasant decor and tables outside. The food is nicely cooked and well presented and tasty to the tongue. Not hard on the pocket and we’ll worth a visit.

hi to whom it my concern, last Friday night 19th July I booked a party of 10 for my wife's 60th birthday. I want to commend the staff that was on that night. From the moment we arrived until we left the staff and food was excellent. Very attentive and pleasant. I arrived earlier in the day to leave a cake, balloons etc for the table. They decorated the table with the balloons & flowers, conversing with me on when to present the flowers & cake to my wife , letting my granddaughter do the honours. I would like you to pass on this Thank you your members and I highly recommend your establishment. so a massive thank you to you and your staff 👏👏

My husband & I visited this lovely place having again having reserved a table in advance for 19:30 on Friday evening. We were warmly greeted and shown to a spacious table on the upper floor. Everything in sight was super clean, the restaurant was pleasantly furnished, and the music was suitably audible. With menus in hand we made our choice the wine which we had taken with us was served with a smile. As we sat we watched the 2 female waitresses working together in harmony and the scene was set for an enjoyable evening. It was very evident that those around us was enjoying themselves... the atmosphere was warm and friendly and we commented on the smiles of satisfaction as customers passed our table on their way out. The fillet steak which my significant other ordered came perfectly cooked, and my chicken maryland was moist with a crispy crumb! The accompanying selection of vegetables.… carrot, broccoli, and sweetcorn had just the right amount of ‘bite’ and the champ potatoes and french fries completed our main course(s). Although we hadn’t room for a dessert oursleves we witnessed the ‘oohs & ahhs’ of delight from those around us and we ended our meal with coffees & shortbread before settling our bill….. Which might I add, was not as expensive as other restaurants in the locality. A very lovely evening which we thoroughly enjoyed - we will return again soon and we’d recommend others do too! Terrible tea and not great service from staff,not a great place for tea,went for the 2nd time,horrible

I only discovered this hidden gem with an online search. We loved it! Quirky wee place with friendly staff and properly good coffee. My husband loved the toasted scone and my caramel square was exactly how I remembered them!

Have walked past this place many times and never had time to stop. Went in today for some coffee and pastries. Great coffee-tasted amazing! Pastries were also lovely. Staff were so friendly. Dogs are also welcome which is a bonus. Will definitely be back.

Walked in and they were pretty busy. As first timers to the cafe there was no welcome, no info about whether to wait to be seated or find a spot for ourselves. We hung around the door unsure and uncomfortable. The waiter, a young man dressed in sportswear, told us there were very busy, very shortstaffed (as if it was our problem/fault) and that there would be a wait. Didn’t say where, so we still hung around the door feeling like awkward, unwelcome and unwanted miscreants. Eventually he cleared and cleaned a table for us upstairs, handed us a menu and we had to find the spot for ourselves. The menu was uninspiring, we weren’t offered a drink when we sat down and the table was sticky and still had gloop on from whoever had used it previously. Totally negative experience. We walked out before we had the chance to order. If there is a manager reading this, an apology would be appropriate.

I firmly believe that the prices charged at Picnic are too high for what you get by the way of the food and coffee.The food is okay for a deli come cafe but on occasions can lack consistency. You try something and enjoy and the next time it is not quite the same which results in dissapointment. Maybe it is just down to a different member of staff putting together the dish.
