A grand wee place but probably not for the young and trendy. It might be described as 'a safe pair of hands' with very pleasant staff a solid if unspectacular menu and well cooked, tasty food. I guess it's pet friendly, at least in the covered outdoor seating.

I have been to ROKA on several occasions and have always had an excellent experience. My go-to order of a Flat White and Cooked Breakfast is always made to perfection and is the perfect pick-me-up to start the day. I recently decided to mix it up and tried the Apple and Cinnamon Scones, they are to die for. You are certainly missing out if you do not try them! The staff at ROKA are very pleasant, welcoming, and professional - I have also found that they are also extremely attentive and will go out of their way to help with any needs you might have. ROKA’s staff help to create a welcoming and cozy environment to have a coffee and a bite to eat. I couldn’t recommend it enough. It is clear to see that they take pride in creating a first-class experience for their customers. P.S. The outside courtyard is a great place to sit and pass the time when the sun is out (and even bring your dog for company)!

I have visited ROKA on several occasions and thought it was about time i wrote a review. I’ve attended with friends and family, on each occasion i received the same excellent customer service - a warm, hearty feel in a family run coffee shop, something that’s very welcome in Bangor, with the owners being very attentative with both inside and outside arrangaements to suit our good Northern Irish weather. I have been for breakfasts, lunches and just the occasional scone/traybake w/coffee. Food is always of an excellent, fresh standard, well priced, especially given the cost of living crisis - all topped off by being in a friendly atmosphere. The perfect stop.

I really enjoyed my morning spent at ROKA Coffee House. I went for breakfast with some of my close friends, we were served by lovely staff. We all opted for the cooked breakfast, it was delicious! Currently I am living abroad in Dubai so my time spent at home is very precious. I was really happy to have picked ROKA for a catch up with my friends, the outdoor courtyard was nice to sit in and there was a nice atmosphere inside. Good food, Well priced and the staff made us very welcome. I will be sure to visit next time I am home. Thank you

I had read reviews online for a family lunch out with my aunt who was visiting from Canada. Myself, my aunt, my son, two daughters with their two children (2 yr old and 8months), arrived at 1230pm. Asked the lady who met us at the door could we have a table for 5 adults one child and a high chair. “We don’t have a high chair” she replied. I should have left then. However since the reviews were so good, I stayed. Sat with the baby on my knee. She came and took our orders (not overly pleasantly, and they were not overly busy, so she wasn’t rushed) then returned for our drinks order. I asked did she have any alternative milk for my latte. Like almond or oat. No we only have soya. Ok thanks I’ll have that. The look she gave me was stupendous. The food arrived. My aunt and the 2 year olds was incorrect even though she read the order back to us. She fixed these with very little Grace. I had ordered a club sandwich on brown. And received a blt on brown. At this stage I had given up and just thought ok I’ll eat that. The children were quiet and well behaved, ate nicely and the baby was passed between us so we could all eat. I unfortunately had to take a call from the hospital, so went outside and therefore was the last to actually finish. They began clearing the table (one of my major pet hates as I was still eating) I presume in a bid to get us to leave quickly. I honestly won’t be back. The food was ok. Not even close to the reviews. The service was awful and I wouldn’t advise anyone more than a party of two to go here. The price was £45.80 and honestly a chip shop would have been more pleasant.

Husband and I had a lovely walk through Ward Park and were looking for somewhere to have our lunch when we came across Roka Coffee House. We had never been before but thought we’d give it a go. Staff were very attentive and friendly and the food was freshly prepared and delicious. We sat inside, but could see that there was a beautiful outdoor area also available. Would definitely return.

I visited this coffee house with my family in August. I was disappointed to not be greeted by the manager upon arrival. We then sat down at a table that they had left their bill book on. We then we’re told that they would just be a minute and then they would bring us our menus, my granny replied to this with ‘no worries!’ To which the manager a blonde woman replied, ooh I wasn’t worrying in an extremely sarcastic and condescending tone. When the menus were eventually brought to us (after waiting a fair while) they were dirty and the lady simply chucked them on the table and walked off (again very rude). Our order was taken by a woman with red hair who was actually very nice and was trying her best given she was having to work with a very rude colleague. The food when it came was disappointing to say the least, the bacon was undercooked and it was all poor quality. When my grandmother went to pay the blonde woman was again short and we felt like an inconvenience to her. Finally, when we left, me, my mother and my father didn’t say bye we just walked out as the woman had been rude throughout our entire visit. She then proceeded to sarcastically stand at the door saying ‘charming’. My mother turned back to her and explained that she was in no position to talk about politeness given her treatment of my family. Overall, a very disappointing visit with the family being left with a sour taste in our mouths from poor food, in a shabby establishment with a bitter pompous woman.

Stopped for a light lunch and was greeted by quite an unfriendly lady at the counter. The soup was veg but was mostly barley with the odd carrot, (I like barley but not the amount that’s in this) The girl who brought the lunch out was very friendly but I wouldn’t really be in a rush to go back.

My friend and I were here today for lunch. Service was fantastic, quick and prompt. Our waiter was pleasant and even moved us to a window seat when it become available. Thank you:-) I had the smoked Haddock as pictures show, my friend had mini mixed grill, he said it was delicious. We shared a desert of toffee sponge- it was ok. We both had coffee to finish- mine was baileys coffee, very good! Can’t wait to come again. Thank you :-)

One of our favourite places to eat in Bangor. I go often with my family. My team were in town so I took them for a treat, two are vegetarian and one is a complete foodie. As expected, they loved it. The menu is comprehensive, the team are brilliant there, with Andrea and Ryan leading, they all continue to be friendly and professional on every occasion. I would recommend this place for couples, families, business and I’ve even been to several Birthday meals here. The best Bangor has!
