One of our favourite places to eat in Bangor. I go often with my family. My team were in town so I took them for a treat, two are vegetarian and one is a complete foodie. As expected, they loved it. The menu is comprehensive, the team are brilliant there, with Andrea and Ryan leading, they all continue to be friendly and professional on every occasion. I would recommend this place for couples, families, business and I’ve even been to several Birthday meals here. The best Bangor has!

After being seated we waited a long time before anyone came near us to enquire if we wanted a drink. When menus arrived we again waited a long time before our orders were taken. Starters were ok and we both ordered the Sunday Roast Beef. Alarm bells were ringing when our knives were replaced with steak knives! The meat was extremely poor, very tough and fatty. Shame as everything else on the plate was ok. No one came to enquire if the meal was alright. I persevered but my wife was unable to eat much of her meat. When the plates were being cleared we were asked and I gave my opinion, the reaction was it was likely because it was the last of the roast - at 2.30pm? We declined deserts or anything else as we were disappointed with the experience. When we went to pay a manageress did apologise and deducted the cost of one of the meals, had this been done earlier we may have had deserts and coffee. All in all it was a disappointment that any chef thought it acceptable to serve meat of such terrible quality in a restaurant that claims to serve "Good Honest Food"

Rang to book a table at the last minute and was delighted to get one at such late notice on a Sunday evening. On arrival we were greeted by Beth who showed us to our table and attended to us at various times during the evening. The restaurant was nicely full with a good buzz about it. Plenty of servers on duty saw to it that we did not have to wait long for orders to be taken. We chose cured salmon and roasted asparagus as our two starters. Both delicious. Then we both opted for the hake with mussels in a curry veloute with pan fried comber potatoes. A green salad and the peas and beans were our two sides. Fabulous food all round and ample quantity. We had just enough room for a dessert. I chose the sundae with caramel sauce and chocolate brownie which was tasty but my husband’s apple strudel with custard looked even better. He raved about it and made me wish I had ordered that instead. Coffee and peppermint tea completed a wonderful meal. The service was attentive and Kathryn in particular was very friendly and helpful. Will definitely return!

We were here last night for a meal. Our son gave us a gift voucher at Christmas and we just got round to using it now. We were greeted by a friendly young lady who looked up our booking and then guided us to our table. The restaurant was quite when we arrived only a handful of other diners which is nice but I prefer the busy-ness and the buzz of a filled restaurant. We were given a window seat which was quite nice. It looked onto the adjoining gardens and carpark beyond. We were given the menus to look over and asked if we wanted anything to drink. We had one starter to share of different breads oils and tapenade which was delicious. For my main I had hake with mussels baby potatoes along with some greens sitting on a mild curry sauce which I must say was delicious. My wife had the roast duck and she said it was equally delicious. We also had a dessert each. Mine was the ice cream sundae with a host of goodies in it. My wife had the hazelnut bavarois which again she said it was delicious. My sundae was nice and I enjoyed it but I think next time I will order the apple strudel and custard which I almost ordered. We also had a bottle of house white which was delicious although I only took a small glass as I was driving. There was half a bottle left when we were leaving which we took home. All in all it was great food served by great people in a lovely setting. My perception overall was the entire experience was good but a tad expensive hence the 4 star review instead of 5 star overall. This however does not detract from the quality of the meals.

As a regular visitor I have always enjoyed the location, service and food. Easter Sunday was the first time I have been left disappointed. The staff and the starters were nice. All the mains were small. The steaks were small but tasty (there was a £10 supplement per steak on top of the £37.50 cost for two courses). The lamb however was a single thin slice of lamb (similar to a piece of luncheon meat) with potatoes and both bowls of root veg were virtually raw. For 2 two courses and 2 three courses and one bottle of wine, the price was £210 excl tip. I fully appreciate that food and energy prices have been rising considerably, but the small portions alongside the pitiful slice of lamb and the raw root vegetables, left us disappointed. If the prices are now such that you can only go out occasionally, then it needs to be worth it and sadly this meal was not worth it. I do like this venue but I will wait a while before my next return.

Have been here a number of times before lock down and this was first time back since. Menu unchanged in a number of years which was disappointing. Decor also unchanged in a number of years. We were there on a Sunday night so it was quiet. Service was poor (we repeatedly had to ask for things to be brought to the table, wine, dessert menu etc). Table wear not in keeping with perceived ambience. Place looked shabby and in need of refurbishment. The food, when it arrived, was good however we expected a more satisfying experience for the cost.

It’s unusual these days for a restaurant to continue trading (in general) with consistently good service, standards, food quality and ambience. I’ve been dining here a few times a year for several years. I always have a great experience, and the standards have never slipped. The welcome is warm, the wines well priced, the menu varied (but you can request substitutions and the odd item that’s no longer on the menu) and the decor still looks great. Every time I visit I fall in love with a new dish. Tonight I fell in love with the coconut panna cotta! Would highly recommend!

Sunday lunch before the festive season starts has become a treat over the past few years. In the previous two covid years tables were set well apart and mask wearing was strictly observed, but as the disease has waned throughout 2022 it was nice to see a more relaxed atmosphere in the restaurant. The food, as always, was very nice. Starters of home made soup and mackerel pate were followed by an early Christmas treat of a roast turkey dinner. The service was quick and without unnecessary fuss, and helped to make for a memorable afternoon.

Great reception with our pre-ordered Freixenet - perfectly chilled - and a board of finger food. Butter with it - but knives were missing. Dinner was sumptuous: from the porkbelly starter, scampis, tempura and the quite perfect vegetable currysoup. Our maincourses were equally 1st class: a grand pork Tomahawk steak, a Cod dish, mine was a juicy and perfectly roasted lamb. A very wide selection of open wines (Sauvignon blanc, Chardonnay, a quite amazing Zinfandel, and for my lamb a CS-Merlot that did the trick. We shall be back again next year!

My family and I were disappointed this evening. We waited 25 mins to order and a further 25 mins until our food arrived. My mother’s burger was pink. Doubt I’ll be back. The waitress taking our order was very understanding and explained that she doesn’t usually take orders but noticed we were waiting ages so just scribbled it down on paper instead of on the tablet. Perhaps the restaurant was understaffed this evening which is a shame as it is a nice environment.

Food was first rate, usual high quality. There is a slightly reduced menu, but all our favourites were still there and there was a really good selection to choose from. Restaurant was busy enough so a good atmosphere too. I wouldn't hesitate to book lunch or dinner again soon. Indeed, having organised a recent event for a local club, almost 20 of us had dinner there and to a man, all thought the menu choice, food quality, ambiance and service was of the highest order.Being a regular visitor I can add that the seasonal menu changes really add to the experience and the creativity in the use of local products, surely amongst the best in the world, is outstanding. Having just enjoyed the Armagh apple, parsnip and Comber potato soup and Beer battered locally caught haddock with Farmageddon onion rings on the side, I have to say that the meal and the service was superb. Staff are fantastic with kids as well. Can't recommend highly enough.

Having frequented this restaurant regularly over the past 10 years, we took a break after receiving an array of dishes that had not been properly cooked. Butternut squash in a vegetarian chilli, potato fondants, baby boiled potatoes and artichokes on a potato salad are all examples.

Lovely Restaurant with a cosy feeling marred only by the background music which for me was too much in the foreground. Service was attentive, efficient and friendly. The Menu covers most tastes with reasonable prices. The food was excellent and well presented. I found the wine prices extremely high. All in all, an enjoyable meal and a return visit is quite possible.

Super restaurant. The sirloin steak was fabulous. Along with the chips, pepper sauce and tomatoes. Just go you won’t regret it.

We walked into the restaurant and were blown away by the arched windows and lofty wooden ceilings, we had a very private booth with low lighting. It was very romantic! our waiter was friendly, helpful and knew his product. The food was so flavoursome and plentiful. We thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience.

Stayed at the hotel and had an evening meal included in the package. We decided to order from the main menu and were credited £22.50 towards our bill.We ordered a sharing mezze platter which had a plentiful selection. For mains I had a steak with chips and ordered peppercorn sauce and onion rings. The steak was cooked perfectly and was delicious. For dessert I had the chocolate pudding and it was incredibly tasty.Service was excellent too. One of my favourite meals out in a while and can't wait to go back.

This is probably our favourite restaurant for a relaxed Sunday lunch on that special occasion. We opted to order off the Sunday lunch menu to celebrate my wife's birthday. The roast rib of beef, and turkey and ham dishes were delicious and very generous. On the Sunday before Christmas the dining room was full with happy diners.

First and last time wining and dining at this establishment, booked a table for 4 people as a birthday suprise for my Wife even put a notice on the booking that it was a big birthday suprise as we have done for previous bookings on occassions at other restaurants etc. So on arrival all was grand we where then shown to our table for the evening. We had placed our orders starters and mains alround and 2 bottles of wine plus other drinks. The starters arrived all looked very good apart from my starter was incorrect only to be told the chef will heat up the alternative option that was available with the smoked salmon so a short time later a side plate of the correct ingredients for the starter. When the mains arrived a friend had nipped to the loo and when he had done so I asked him to check with the staff they are aware its a big birthday and has anything been aaranged aka a token gesture from the house as a thanks for choosing to spend your birthday and money in their establishment only to be told if he would like to buy a dessert they would gladly bring it to the table with a candle. Thus starts my problem at no point when the booking was made did anyone make it clear that this restaurant does not provide so much as a scoop of ice cream f.o.c to the birthday guest because god forbid a business takes a 30p hit to make a birthday guests dining experience in the place that little bit special! So at my frustration I had to further more purchase a dessert and a glass of house prossecco to ensure all went smoothly. The bill was in excess of £200 for 4 people which is fair enough however when I raised my concerns i got a phone call from the restaurant manager explaining that its not policy to give away birthday desserts as it may be abused i was however offered a £2 refund. Shocking excuse from an industry that should strive to make the experience for anyone booking a celebration event that little bit more special but clearly not here. A small token goes along way in the hospitality industry. Wont be back.

Went for an early lunch with two friends. We received a lovely welcome and had a nice table in the restaurant. Service was great throughout and we never felt rushed , just the right amount between courses. Food was very good and reasonably priced for Christmas lunch. We also enjoyed a lovely bottle of wine recommended to us. A really lovely afternoon spent with friends to start the Christmas festivities. I haven’t been in many years but will definitely return with my husband as we had our wedding reception here about 25 years and used to visit more frequently so I think we will put this back on our list to return. Thanks again to all the staff for an enjoyable afternoon!

A few of us met for lunch today and had a great experience. This was my first visit and I loved it from the moment we stepped in the door. We were met by a heartwarming fire with a Christmas tree beside it, and sat at nearby setees. The decor is contemporary, not minimalist or cluttered, just right to create a homely atmosphere.

Last minute decision but an excellent decision. Am sure it was because we went for the early bird menu that there was availability. Fabulous food-my old smokie cod was Devine. Would highly recommend and if we are ever back in Hollywood, will revisit!

My friend and I were here today for lunch. Service was fantastic, quick and prompt. Our waiter was pleasant and even moved us to a window seat when it become available. Thank you:-) I had the smoked Haddock as pictures show, my friend had mini mixed grill, he said it was delicious. We shared a desert of toffee sponge- it was ok. We both had coffee to finish- mine was baileys coffee, very good! Can’t wait to come again. Thank you :-)
