The best evening meal I’ve had in Bangor in a long time! The restaurant has a lovely relaxed atmosphere and the staff are friendly and efficient I can’t wait to go back !

We popped into Joxer in Hillsborough on st Paddy's day for some brunch, the host was so friendly and warm on our arrival. We were told it will be just a short wait and it was, the place was full which was unsurprising with the delightful food. It's a dog friendly cafe which is even better. I got a pineapple chilli margarita (twice)☺️ and smashed avo and husband got chicken waffles both were amazing. Friendly staff and very open and modern surroundings, can't wait to go back :)

A great spot in Bangor, great vibes and lovely staff. Loved the wee flowers added in the dish- very different. Good amount of food and very filling. Only reasoning for the 3 star rating would be the prices of the food are on the pricey side and nothing overly special but over all great taste and could not fault the food itself.

As a party of 8 at the Hillsborough venue, every one of us loved the friendly welcome, excellent service and food we’d return for. The menu offered plenty of options without being so extensive that the quality might suffer. A slightly limited dessert choice nudged us towards the cocktail menu, resulting in us being last to leave but there was no attempt to hurry us out by the professional front-of-house team. Highly recommend the scallops and tempura of broccoli.

We arranged a party of 29 to visit Hillsborough Joxer for a surprise 30th birthday in January 2024. Joxer have a set menu of £30pp which is fabulous value! They went above & beyond for us to make the evening extra special - nothing was too much bother! All the food arrived out to everyone together and hot. Everyone complimented on the standard of food and how tasty everything was - We will definitely be back! Can definitely recommend for a small party / event.

Went back for hot chocolate yesterday after a while of not being here. The staff are all so friendly and welcoming. The traybakes are delicious and i always love popping in for hot choc.

The food here is always top class. The staff are super friendly and happy to give menu recommendations/explain how the food comes.

Something different from the norm, lovely staff, great service, and very tasty food. Car park a few yards from cafe which is handy. Nothing negative about this eating house. Very clean tables.

I love Joxer and have enjoyed many meals in their Holywood restaurant. We went to Bangor for a change and everything was lovely UNTIL a dog was permitted to sit up on the booth seats and drink water from a dog bowl placed on the table. Only we were leaving already, I would have left for that reason. I am not against dogs being allowed to come into restaurants however I do not find it hygienic or fair to customers to have a dog on a table.

Called for breakfast, abit pricier than we would normally pay. We went for the full bangor fry x2, americano coffee and a tea which came to £30. Nice atmosphere, good service

Fancy pricey food, which none of us particularly enjoyed. No kids meal options meaning that brunch for the four of us plus 2 coffees and 2 juices came to over £60... the staff were super nice and friendly, and the decor was lovely - also dog friendly which was nice.

Visited for the first time and was so impressed. The decor was beautiful, staff super friendly and the food was outstanding! Sriracha sauce was like nothing I've ever tasted before. Can't wait to go back!

Definitely one of my all time favourite places to eat, service is 10/10 and the staff are super friendly, curtis especially as he always remembers us and comes straight over to chat.

Staff super friendly and helpful. Very attentive. Water and treats for our dog, brilliant. Food excellent too. Will be frequent flyers here.

Everything was 10/10 on our first time in Joxer, I can't wait to go back and try their lunch after having their dinner menu. I'm still thinking about the Miso Mai Thai that the waiter recommended. If you haven't tried this place already, please go! My wife said it's the best brownie she's ever had. I found the prices very reasonable even though we went all out at this meal too. Big thank you to everyone involved for providing us with such a great experience

First time in Joxer and certainly won't be the last. Chicken and waffles were amazing highly recommended. Coffee was lovely, as were the staff. Relaxed atmosphere and could spend the day here. Get down ASAP

Ate in the Holywood establishment. For the price of 12 pounds I expected a lot more when you consider the rivals in the breakfast market, 30 with coffee. Service was good but the quality and quantity was lacking. Must say the best ulster fry in that price point has to be the guilemot in Bangor. As a group we sample across North Down and won't be back.

Lovely interior decor, super friendly and quick service, dog friendly (and given dog biscuits!). Nice coffee, and my salmon rosti was delicious although covered in too much onion marmalade. Would 100% return and recommend to a friend.

This is such a great place for a date night or food and drinks with friends. The cocktails are fabulous, the food is delicious. We had sharing plates, a main and shared a dessert and I couldn't find fault with anything. The staff were helpful with suggestions from the menu and very friendly and attentive. We have eaten from the lunch menu and the evening menu and honestly don't know which is better. Joxer deserves to be booked out every night but we had no problem getting a table for two. Definitely in my top two Bangor restaurants.

Came in today to have lunch for our anniversary. We had visited in Holywood score but first time here. Fabulous from beginning to end . Hadn't booked and we asked if we could have a booth and people had just left and they cleared away so we could sit down. Nothing was a problem. Clean ,professional , friendly service , and we found out dog friendly. A other huge tick for us as we can bring ours in at a later stage. Food was superb , had chicken and waffles , hubby finished mine . So so good. The girls on service were friendly , and even better , a car park at the back. Will definately return and recommend . Went for lunch soon as we came through the door we were met by a cheerful friendly chap who was fantastic throughout making chat, recommending what's good on the menu. Bright, airy, pleasant atmosphere. I chose the chicken and waffles, the mixture of savoury, sweet with the little kick of sriracha sauce (served separately) worked so well together. Look forward to sampling the evening menu soon. 😄

Dinner in the Joxer was fabulous. Started with two small plates of Squid and Tempura of broccoli. Who even knew broccoli could be so tasty. Perfect portions and really tasty. Mains of mackerel and sirloin. The food, service. wine and beers were excellent. This is a real wee treasure of a place which I would highly recommend for dinner, not just brunch. Will most def be back.

Daughter had found Joxer while out for a drive with her husband and enjoyed it so much she that she treated us to lunch a few days later.Situated in a side street of High St.,there is a cheap carpark(£1 all day) directly behind the restaurant. Had to wait a little as place was busy being lunchtime but the buttermilk fried chicken with waffles and dips were worth waiting for.....delicious. Staff are casually dressed rather than in uniform which i perfer and are very friendly and helpful when asked about the menu. .Full bar service is available including a decent range of cocktails and wines. Will definately return again but will book an evening slot and sample the bar after.

1st time we went was lovely, next time lots of dogs, inside. Disappointing

Food nicely presented but dissapointing cold plates , food was quite dried up, bacon more leathery than crisp. While I am happy to frequent dog friendly establishments, I was surprised to see dogs sitting on the upholstery and eating off plates at the table..the staff we mentioned this to assured us that they are fine this!!!

First time being at Joxer and it was definitely worth it. The food was first class and the pancakes were great. My wife had the steak and eggs which was done perfectly.

Been coming to Joxer a while now with my wife and we have always really enjoyed the experience. However, after our trip today I don’t think we will ever be back. We arrived as usual and it was busy. We stood inside the door and were ignored by a few members of staff. A couple then came in after us and we’re spoken to first. We were then handed menus and asked to wait. A short time later the waiter who had handed us the menus walked over to the other couple and stated “right you’s are jumping the queue”. This was right in front of us and we were the only other people waiting at this point. My wife is 5 months pregnant and this level of customer service is just unacceptable. Usually customer service here is fantastic however today we experienced anything but. I was so taken back by this we gave our menus back and left. Extremely disappointed.

First timer, came for Saturday brunch, ordered chicken & waffles with an iced coffee. Really tasty food, diverse and interesting menu, friendly staff, spacious and modern seating arrangements, warm and inviting atmosphere. Highly recommend!

First off the staff were great and very attentive and everything came quickly, we had the chicken and waffles and the big Fry, both these meals were tremendous and some of the best grub about. The only reason I mark this place down as a 3 is because they give you coffee in tiny wee cups you'd see in a doll's house and 2 sips and it's gone, not only that but you are paying well over £3 for a coffee. These cups are a disgrace to serve a paying customer and I've never seen as small in any cafe or restaurant I've been too. I would say go to this place for food as it's brilliant but avoid the coffee and order a soft drink instead

This place is georgous and the music was a great vibe but the food wasn't good. And for the money being charged it really needed to be. This was my first visit to Bangor joxer. The Croque madam was drenched with cheese sauce and had a cake/pudding like texture when cut into. The sourdough should have had a crunchy texture but it was mushy and very soggy. I think too much sauce. Our coffees were not hot and where not served with sugar I had to make an extra request for some.

2 fry’s, 2 pots of tea £28.00 Food was fine but would like 2 of everything for £14 per person. Nice atmosphere, friendly staff. A bit expensive.

If you haven’t been.. GO!!! Everything absolutely flawless!

Terrible experience! I have trouble walking and use crutches. The poorly built entrance ramp is way too steep and slippery. No-one came to help when I called and I could see staff just in from the door behind the counter. Will never be back. Someone should report them to the council!

Myself and my partner went for brunch and we had a lovely experience! The food was amazing, especially the chicken and waffles!! The service was extremely high standard which exceeded our expectations. Our server was called Curtis and he made us feel instantly welcomed, lovely guy!!

Waiting is outside Got tea and coffee whilst awaiting food order Server didn't bring sugar and said she'd bring it but didn't Haf to go and get it mysrlf Server when asked for banana instead of bacon replied We have no bananas and that was that No suggestions for alternative 🙄 We waited for 30 minutes for our Brunch whilst watching others seated later receive food Highlighted to person I assume to be manager Offered tea in interim which didn't arrive Food arrived French toast seemed undercooked but noone checked if our food was OK Noone came near us to check! Pretty hard to understand when you have already a frustrated customer

Customer service shocking. Was humiliated by unprofessional staff who wouldn't help me in my wheelchair get up the very steep ramp to the cafe. The ramp is so steep that I'm sure on wet days able bodied people would slip. This is not an accessible ramp. Waited for 20mins outside in the cold only to then be told they were closed. Good bye Joxers... never again.

Customer service shocking: phoned to book table for 9 people and a dog. Was told that they wouldn't normally reserve tables, but a table for 9 wouldn't be turned away and a reservation was made with our name and timings. 2 hours later, arrived on time in pouring rain to be refused a table in front of onlookers and diners. Zero efforts made to resolve situation with staff trying to shift the blame to us. Staff looking at each other cluelessly ending with an underhanded remark as we were leaving feeling embarassed and annoyed. Very unprofessional. Good bye Joxers... never again.

Nice ambiance and good selection on the menu but dissapointed i had their Avo on toast ie sourdough bread with avocado. It tasted ok but sourdough bread really did not resemble a real sourdough made with natural starter. To me it tasted like standard white bloomer. My friend tried a bit and agreed with me. It costs whopping 10 pounds would be brilliant if it was real authentic sourdough as it says on the menu.

The place was nicely decorated, really friendly efficient staff, however breakfast took 35 minutes to be served. To be fair we were really early.

Been coming to Bangor for 10 years and Joxer is the best meal we've ever had. Fabulous food, great atmosphere, Olivia and Curtis were just the best. Wishing there was one in Liverpool, we'll be back for more! If you live in Bangor it's an absolute must.

The food is delicious, unique dishes, great Canadian style meals. Wine selection is superb, cocktails are divine!

We have eaten in the Joxer a handful of times before we booked the venue for our daughters naming celebration. I can honestly day that Lynsay and Lauren could not have done enough for us. We planned the meal around some vegans, vegetarians and with some very specific dietary requirements however the team in Joxer took this in their stride. The meal, service and professionalism was second to none. Thanks so much for helping us make some amazing memories for our wee girl.x

Great brunch spot! Tried multiple things from the menu and never been disappointed. Inside of this place is really nice as well, and the staff were all very friendly.

The night before our wedding, our bridal party and families all gathered in the private upstairs space for dinner and drinks. It was the perfect setting- I cannot recommend Joxer more highly. The cocktails and food were delicious and service was exceptional. Thank you guys- we’ll be back!

Very nice clean, informal and friendly place. Welcoming too and great staff - food was ok at Brunch but nothing exceptional. My fry up was fine - not greasy and well cooked. My wife’s dish included French fries, however, that looked like they were scraped from the bottom of the frier and were swimming in a centimetre of oil! All else was pretty good but the French fries spoilt it a bit. Worth a visit though- we may just have been unlucky.

Fantastic food and service. Normally very hard to get a table. We were very lucky to get the entire upstairs section to ourselves and we were able to sit on after our meal and have coffee. I had the chicken and waffles which was fantastic.

Had been told this was a good shout and indeed it was. We had several small plates tapas style (Arancini, Meatballs, Broccoli Tempura which was especially good and the Scallops) and also the Lamb Chops everything was really good, we even ventured some desserts which is unusual for us... See photos It wasn't cheap at just under £100 which I cluded a Cocktail and a Beer. We will be back...

The Joxer in Bangor is great. It does a lot small plates which can also be has as starters. The broccoli tempura in particular is extremely good. The mains are a good size, with most coming with a side. It also has a great range of cocktails, which are reasonably priced. It is definitely worth going to.

We went to Joxer for lunch having read good reviews, and have to agree the food was very good, this was only the brunch menu, the Joxer Belfast bap 👍🏻 good choice but what a mess egg yolk and sauce all over the place 😋 , I would have liked a Coke but hardly any soft drinks ?? The staff were all very friendly
