You can’t judge a book by its cover, but you can judge a chef by his or her homemade soup. And the accompanying bread. This was fine dining in the literal sense. All the best team Guillemot.

Music, happiness and great food. Guillemot never disappoints. My wife had the Reuben sandwich as per usual, the sandwich is massive, the filling is unreal. I had the « special » buttermilk chicken burger. Filled with chicken breast, halloumi, avocado, tomatoes and truffle mayo! £33 for that, an earl grey, the cafetière coffee and a glass of orange. Here and Starfish really are the only two choices of any note in Bangor

Lovely little cafe was recommended by a local and I can say it is fabulous. Situated near the Eisenhower Pier, you can see the water, boats and birds if you get a window seat. Servers were very friendly and professional. Had the eggs Benedict and was delicious. Ample amounts of bacon rashers that tasted great and two perfectly poached eggs with a luscious creamy sauce. A little bit of peppery greens for spice. All very nice 👍🙂

On 19/10/2024 I arranged to meet a friend for Coffee. I went to the counter to pay and the lady owner was standing beside me, she advised her colleague what my friend and I had. The owner also added and that's for 'her' and pointed to me. Having owned restaurants in the past I certainly never treated my customers with such disrespect! Needless to say we shan't be giving our business to this establishment again!

I went for the dirty delicious bap which was a let down straight away as was served in a plain burger bap instead of a Belfast bap. Also fried egg was served with solid yolk. My other half went for the flatbread which was good but let down by the solid yolk poached eggs. Have had good meals before but disappointed today. Service mixed as waitress who took order bit stand offish & blanked myself. Server otherwise very engaging.

It is small and there's not too much to look at compared to other coast views but they make some killer veggie rolls, I'm not one for eating with a hangover because I'll always feel sick but this was amazing and there was no sick feeling whatsoever, it was so good that I'd travel over an hour back to have one sober, the 4 stars is only because there's not much seating, 2-4 groups of people would fill the place and there's not a big selection like some other cafes but find something you like and sit by the harbour, not too bad

I was looking forward to eating here for a while but sadly it did not live up to expectations. There were 5 of us at a table which was quite small and low, we waited around 30-40 mins for our food, other tables of 2 were coming in after we ordered and their food came out before ours. The waiter politely informed us that there was a delay and food won’t be long. The eggs Benedict was the worst I’ve had, the streaky bacon was only cooked on one side on everyone’s meals and full of fat, the muffin was deep fried so when you bit into it oil spilled out. The waiter was very nice and service was good but the wait and food was a let down, they did take off the price of 2 coffees to apologise. I wouldn’t recommend for food maybe a nice place to meet a friend for coffee

Came here for the first time only recently, even though I’m a native Bangorian. Ate at both the restaurant and the cafe and both times the food and service was superb. It was also a massive breath of fresh air that the cafe had rock music on low in the background, sick of hearing Taylor Swift in every establishment I go into 😂 Had the French toast with bacon and maple syrup and it was, hands down, the best breakfast I’ve ever had. My mum also spent the entire time eyeing all the jams, chutneys and vinegars while we ate and I’m pretty sure she’d rob the place if she thought she could get away with it 😂 Amazing experience and will definitely be back 😍

I enjoyed a wonderful meal in Coq and Bull in January. I was out for an overdue catch-up with a friend and this restaurant was the perfect place to have it. From the outset, the staff went above and beyond to ensure we had a relaxing evening. My friend had mentioned on the booking form that I have a garlic intolerance, and I was most impressed when a member of the waiting staff came over with an amended menu for me. He took the time to go through the many options that were still available to me and explained, moreover, that the chef could make alternative sauces for specific dishes. We enjoyed two delicious - and generous! - bread boards to start, followed by the ham hock and burger, respectively, and finished with the irish cream liqueur tiramisu. The staff were attentive and friendly, and did not hurry us to leave when we had finished eating but, rather, allowed us to linger over our last drinks and finish our catch-up, which we really appreciated. I had such a fabulous meal that I have decided to book to go back for my wedding anniversary in February.
