Lick Gelato in Down

We really enjoyed Lick Gelato. Good portion sizes at a reasonable price. There was a wide variety of flavours available, and the waffle cones were also delicious! Would highly recommend.

Tried Lick again tonight, still open till 10pm on 30th Aug 23. Again, a really good selection of ice cream flavours. Must be about 12 - 16 flavours, the biggesf flavour range of any ice cream cafe I have been to. I had a 3 scoop tub with Fudge, Lotus biscoffi and coconut with lime. Tub was £4 which I think is very good for this quality of ice cream. Coconut with lime was really good. All the flavours tasted as usual would expect and were delicious. Staff were on the ball and pleasent. Without a doubt, lick is at the top level with all of Ireland's best ice cream cafes. Will definitely return on a regular basis.

Will not be back after wat i witnessed on Saturday evenin. Young nephew got the chocolate brownie with peanut m and ms. Girl took handful of m n ms out of the container put couple on top of his tray and put rest of the m n ms in the bin. Couldn believe wat she just done.

Called in Friday 30/9/22 evening about 9pm. Very nice decor in the takeaway ice cream cafe. Huge range of flavours, must be about 20 different flavours on display and all look fantastic. Tried stroop waffle, toffee and white chocolate & raspberry as a 3 scoop tub, wife had a 2 scoop tub, price was under £7 which is very good, for what was too class ice cream. Friendly and professional staff. Much better than most ice cream cafes that NEVER CHANGE THEIR FLAVOURS. It will take many more visits to get through the other lovely flavours on offer. I see they also do coffees and a load of other treats that I didn't really take time to look at tonight, but I will on next visit.

Wow what a choice. And the shop is spotlessly clean. Kids disappointed the frozen yoghurt machines weren’t in use, but they soon got over it when saw all the varieties of ice cream to choose from.

This shop’s branding isn’t maybe as strong as the ice cream place two doors down but they sure make best ice cream in town, maybe even in NI. The flavors are outstanding and texture is always perfect. my favorite is the refreshers ice cream. Service has always been friendly and quick

I visited Lick Gelato with small grandchildren. The staff were very friendly, helping to choose ice cream and advising. Also, as children make quite a mess after eating ice cream, they cleaned it up with friendly smile. Ice cream was best I've had and price is good.

We were out for the day at Newcastle. And we went into Lick ice cream shop. I got a large cone, with snickers flavour ice cream. The ice cream was lovely, loved the snickers flavour. I would recommend Lick ice cream to anyone. They have a great selection of flavours to choose for.

Good selection of yummy ice creams at low prices...yum yum although think they losing out by not selling drinks🤔🤔🤔

Amazing selection of flavours at reasonable prices! I always pop in with the children when we are visiting family.

Our kids love the ice cream here. The portion sizes are really good. Today we chose mr whippy, Ferrero rochea, mint choc chip. All delicious

There is nothing better than calling here for excellent ice cream, the choices are excellent as are the staff.

They had a nice range of flavours; nothing too exciting but a few different ones like lemon meringue, white snickers, raspberry pavlova... I had the 2 scoop with honeycomb and toffee brownie and both were yummy. My husband had the previously mentioned lemon meringue, white snickers and rum raisin and they were all really nice. Good prices and generous portions.

I’d been wanting to visit this place for a while and I finally did today! I wasn’t disappointed, the flavours on offer were plentiful and random in a very good way. I went for a double scoop of honeycomb and peach Melba combo, both flavours were delicious especially the honeycomb! It was so smooth and loads of honeycomb pieces throughout. My wife also got the honeycomb (loved it) and coffee, which she said was class and by the grunts she was making when eating it I know she meant it!! Lol Will be back for sure.

Someone suggested we take our children here, what a disappointment. Over priced, stick to a simple ice cream shop, just as good

Had the yoghurt and it was good comes with a choice of all sorts of toppings. WATCH OUT they weigh the tub and it cost twice what I expected, and there is no turning back. My fault.

Ice cream beautiful and proper home made Great and varied menu for all ages. Staff very good and friendly. Will return soon.

It is good to find an ice cream shop that does at least sorbet's for your child because everyone else is having home made ice cream. Lick provided that opportunity for us.

Our kids favourite place to visit when in Newcastle. It is kept so clean and tidy - the frozen yoghurt self serve is a novelty for the kids, along with mr whippy! Husband and I enjoyed hot waffles and coffee. One wee tip is if there were traybakes or cake to have along with coffee would be great!

I love the fact I can have wee treat but be good at the same time,frozen yoghurt and berries ,yum,nice clean bright with tables outside for a good day.

There's no shortage of ice cream and gelato places in Newcastle but Lick has to be right up there. Jammy dodger and Oreo gelato make a great combo in a chocolate waffle cone. I want to go back to taste all the flavours!!

There is a large selection of Gelato ice creams. The red velvet is my favourite! I'm a fan of frozen youghart, although I've not tried it in Lick as there wasn't many flavours to choose from!

Not sure why I wanted an ice cream/frozen yoghurt (the sky was grey and a light rain was coming down, not to mention very strong winds blowing umbrellas inside out), perhaps because I saw a lot of ice creams shops, but I went into Lick Gelato thinking I would have a more healthy frozen yoghurt rather than an ice cream.

We loved it here - kids enjoyed 'serving themselves' to frozen yoghurt and toppings. What struck me was how spotlessly clean it was. I love to see ice cream parlours with no dribbles or bits of melted ice cream over the containers.

Lick es una buena heladería tiene mas sabores que la competencia (nugelato)pero no es tan popular y por eso hay menos gente.

Went for an ice cream today- excellent selection and also options of frozen yoghurt for people who are after something a little bit healthier

Friendly staff great ice cream, plenty of variety ...try the malteser flavour WOW , can't go wrong really as all th flavours go down a treat with the family. Our door seating too. Not really into frozen yogurt but they have this too. Great wee place

We visited here recently while in Newcastle, so much choice and idea's. I had a strawberry and white chocolate sauce kind of sundae and my partner had a chocolate profiterole ice cream 'dish'

Highly recommended. So many flavours to chose from you may end up standing for about 5 minutes deciding your ice-cream choice. Bubble gum is great along with loads of other flavours.

My favourite place for a treat in Newcastle and the Jaffa cake flavour always goes down well in my house

Fantastic ever changing choice of ice creams and milkshakes. Tasters are available if you are unsure. Lovely and clean. Very friendly staff!

Lovely Italian ice cream. Range of flavours to choose from. Was yummy and just right. Would def recommend to here to stop by and get an ice cream if your in Newcastle :)

Like visiting Lick, ice cream good but perhaps not just as good Nugelato next door. Food selection for those having a tea or coffee is very poor. Some of the staff could be more friendly and efficient

We visited here as a family on a recent visit to Newcastle the staff were vet polite and helpful and the place was spotless.the range of flavours was good and I thought the tubs were well priced all four of us had different flavours and only one of the flavours wasn't nice.I would definitely go back again.

Bought two small bubblegum and two medium raspberry-ripple icecream cones and they were nothing out of the ordinary. They certainly were NOT gelati either as I know the difference between real gelato and icecream having worked in an Italian-run gelateria.

Just the plain frozen yoghurt is to die for but normally there are up to 4 flavours to choose from, it's so light and creamy the problem is not going back for a second tub! One downside is that they could do with a couple of highchairs or booster seats for little ones to keep them contained but as it is quite a small shop it's maybe felt like these would takeup too much room.

Oh...the delicious yumminess of a frozen yoghurt! A place mainly for young people, although I'm sure plenty of older people enjoy it too. I liked how you were able to choose your own and serve yourself. Expensive, but worth it!

On a wet and windy day I happened upon this ice cream shop. I was with a large group who decided we all wanted ice cream. The large number of people arriving at one time did not cause a problem. We were dealt with quickly and with great patience. The ice cream was superb and reasonably priced. There was even enough seating for us all when the wind and rain drove us back.
