It's a good pub to watch sports in. There are plenty of big screens, but it is a pity about the service. I counted 3 barmen and 3 other staff members behind the bar chatting and just ignoring customers. In the end, I had to ask if anyone was serving. The barman wasn't too pleased to serve me, it seemed. We just had the one and left.

Two staff just wanted to talk to each other, not interested in customers. Turned the match off I was watching at half time, so I just gave up on the place.

Called into this bar with my family for the football final. Was told on entrance it’s a “mixed bar/public house” When England came on the tv they actually turned off the sound for the national anthem which is sick. So I sang it at my table and got told off? Also when England scored we got told to “pipe down” yet when Spain scored not a word was mentioned. The wee boy who worked behind the bar was an absolute sour bake. When ordering drinks he gave so much attitude I actually had to report him. The one bar tender was lovely, chatted away all night. But as for the rest of the staff there still living in the 70s Definatley not a mixed bar and 90% of the staff need an attitude check. It’s football get over it Guiness was decent tho Won’t be back

We had family visiting from Canada and booked Copper for 9 June 2022, it was a fabulous meal from start to finish. Service was excellent and so cheerful. Steak & lobster surf & turf outstanding, in fact all the meal was for all 8 of us. Highly recommend and we will definitely be back

Can’t say enough about this fantastic little gem. Dined here a few weeks ago with friends and had a wonderful whole Dover sole, cooked to perfection. We decided that we would like to come back and try one of Roy’s tasting menus and we were not disappointed. We had six totally delicious Indian themed courses each one cooked authentically and to perfection and served in a really creative way. The service was excellent with just enough time in between to enjoy each course. Roy, who does all the cooking to order, is really passionate about his restaurant and his choice of menus ,and Julie , front of house is so welcoming and friendly , they do make a great team. Unfortunately I don’t have any photos of our food as I was focused solely on savouring the meal. Thanks to Roy and Julie for a really lovely evening.

The food was very good. I went for soup of the day to start and chicken stack for main course. Plenty of it. Staff are very friendly. Live music tonight downstairs. The atmosphere seemed good I definitely recommend coming here.

Used to be big lovers of Docs and its food but it just hasn't been the same since its makeover in May 2024. It has lost its way a little bit, it doesn't know exactly what it is. It used to be a combined fish and chips takeway with dinning in, but it now aims itself as a restaurant experience but with the same expectations. Menu options are now not what they used to be, no battered options on menu other than fish for example. And when customisations or variations are requested we got told a hard no, the chef doesn't accomdate changes so the kitchen is no longer as accommodating as it used to be. Also, as others have said, service is very slow and staff are very by the book. We waited close to an hour for our three mains, all of which were straight off the menu as no customisations were allowed as I said, so no excuses. As I said we used to be big lovers of Docs but unfortunately for them there are many other options now available along the main, including some great pubs, that do much better food and service. I just can't really figure out any what Docs is anymore with regard to its identify, food and service.
