The best restaurants in Killycrot Carrickfergus North Eastern NI

Staff were super helpful and friendly. When we came in it was busy and initially thought we may struggle to get seated. As another party left staff were straight over to clear the table for us to sit down together with high chairs available. When ordering staff were extremely helpful with accommodating my plain palette. Portion sizes can’t be complained about and everyone left full. Toilets were basic enough but had a baby change table on the wall which is always a plus.

Very nice welcome from staff especially TIA. Pours a cracking pint and has a really good friendly vibe, food was excellent to, defo recommend this place, Tias smile made my day

Had a lovely meal, the staff were very attentive especially Jess our waitress, nothing was a problem and she made our evening very enjoyable.

Started off really well - great atmosphere and wonderful gyoza. Bit concerned when we overheard waitress telling table next to us that she didn't know what udon noodles were... Mains arrived. All very good. However, my chicken tasted and had texture/look of fish. I asked waitress to check with chef, she checked on till what I'd ordered then came back and said that no, it was chicken, that's what I'd ordered and no-one else has ordered fish. I continued to eat my main (whether fish or chicken it was tasty). At end of meal I was still 100% sure it was fish, was flaking like fish, size of small fish goujon. I asked her to check with chef. She took my plate away and returned again insisting it was chicken. I've eaten lots of fish and lots of chicken. I've eaten marinaded chicken with soft texture. But was getting nowhere. Bill arrived with full cost of meals and a 10% service charge (which isn't mentioned on menu?).. Service charge removed when asked, I left a cash tip instead. Could all have been solved if she'd just asked me whether I'd prefer something else.

I usually have regular Fish n chips on Fridays, I can confidently say this is the best Fish n Chips I've had by far. The atmosphere, ambiance and music at just the right music to be enjoyable while having a conversation is a plus. The staff here is welcoming and helpful. The Value Meals are affordable for a weekday lunch. I've enjoyed by experience here.

Everything was awful, food, service, no atmosphere. This used to be a fantastic place to eat, but not anymore......very clean restaurant, nicely decorated restaurant, that's were it ends......they need a miracle, new chef and better trained waitresses, to possibly become the great restaurant it once was.

Ordered a 12" munchie box for delivery, The driver arrived with the food on the roof of his car, Told him to take it back and bring me a fresh 1 with a new driver, Phoned shop to be told a new 1 would be sent up, by a different delivery driver, But the same munchie box came back with the same driver, food was stone cold the chicken didn't even reach 50°c, and still waiting on my fresh box 😡😡😡😡😡😡 WONT ORDER AGAIN

Probably the only place with decent drink prices that's not going to break the bank food is ok for what u pay place could maybe do with a upgrade compare to other spoons which are much nicer but good for a few drinks

Ordered a bacon bap and one slice of toast which was supposed to come with free tea and filter coffee. Charged almost £12! Be aware!

Ordered a taco chip when I got home and opened it. It was a chip with taco sauce even though it said on the website taco mine and jalapeños. When I rang up the person on the phone said they had ran out of mince. £7 for a chip with sauce disgrace!

We were out for a drive in north Antrim. We stopped In carrickfergus for a walk about, it was cold, we fancied something to eat to warm us up. As we walked into the Windrose it felt really welcoming. The staff took us tour seats overlooking the marina. When we both look at the menu we both knew what we wanted “sea food chowder” and it was so good and well presented, it was very filling, the wheaten bread served along with the chowder was delicious ,lovey and moist perfect. Will definitely be back.

Don't know what all the negatives reviews are about. Am in at least 4 times a week as I ow where everything is and can be out in a flash. Staff are always polite, friendly and helpful. Yes there aren't many checkouts as mostly self scan now but, same as everywhere. Yes sometimes stock on offers is low but, they are a very small branch and keep low availability to enable them to stock a wide range of products.
