From the outside the safari restaurant looks rather underwhelming but don’t let that put you off booking a table and enjoying a meal here. The menu has lots of choices, service is prompt and friendly, and portions are generous. There is an early bird menu too which some of our group had - 2 courses for £18.95 - good value. We’d recommend the sharing Combo for two - but only if you are hungry- it’s gigantic!

I found out about the Square View Restaurant as a result of an invitation to Carrickfergus Cricket Club for a family birthday party. I was very surprised by the bill of fayre on offer. It's a family-friendly restaurant that has a children's menu with such items as chicken curry, fries and so on. I ordered an 8 once burger with blue cheese and crispy onion topping, served with a salad, fries and a dip. The cost was £15, but worth every penny as it was an enjoyable meal. The restaurant is open to members of the public and I'd definitely recommend it to others, You should receive a good, generously-portioned meal for around £7 or £8. The Square View Restaurant is very much a hidden jewel.

My wife and I have been regular goers to Maegden since it was the wee caravan next to the Giants Causeway. We travel down from Belfast at least once a month for a grilled cheese and bonfire hot chocolate! Now it is in Bushmill's it's even better - providing seating and selling local produce from across the Island. The girls who run it are absolute Angel's and so, so friendly and talkative. Impossible to describe to folk just how good a "toastie" can be, but trust me, it's well worth the hours travel and paying a few quid. Their bonfire hot chocolate isn't overly sweet nor does it have that artificial taste you would get from the likes of Costa/Starbucks. The marshmallow fluff they use on top is made by themselves and torched perfectly. It's 09.40am and my belly is now rumbling for a Maegden!!!! Side note: their candied jalepenos are to die for! An absolute 10/10 - I recommend it to everyone!

Fantastic staff, fantastic food. Cocktails were excellent, flavours were spot on. We got the beef, the lamb and the Thai fries and all these were just the best. Best I have had in Belfast. Spot on

What an amazing place! Just like walking into a Victorian sitting room. Very warm welcome. Had a home made pizza (which had tasty home cooked ham in abundance) fries, homemade cake and a bottomless pot of tea. We stayed for ages chatting to the owners and fellow diners. Everyone so friendly and welcoming. We were so sorry we were passing through on a tour of Ireland and couldn't return.

Lovely staff, nice food and very reasonably priced. But would love to see some vegan options added to the menu it would bring in a lot of business:)

great spot for a private paarty. All the staff were very helpful setting up the room for our party. Bar staff were great and the buffet food was plentiful and hot, the DJ hit all the right music for our age group and a great time was had by all. No hesitation recommending this place.
