Stopped here for a few quick drinks. Was very friendly and the tea was lovely. Tray bakes and cakes look good ( as did the fry we saw being made), but too full from an earlier lunch to sample any. Definitely worth a stop. And you can sit out front on the picnic tables. Seems reasonably priced for everything too.

My husband found this place on TripAdvisor. We live locally and we usually have a snack in Ballycastle but he decided to try this wee place. It was fantastic. The lady that served us was wonderful and chatted away to us like she has known us forever. She talked to our 10 year old daughter Anna and made her feel special. It was really like going to visit family. The food was amazing too. Anna enjoyed tea in a china cup and teapot and the coffee my husband and I had was beautiful. Thank you so much. We will be back!!!

We stumbled across this cafe after visiting fair head. There was a sign outside saying "it's just like being at your grannys" and this couldn't have been more wrong! From the minute we entered we were welcomed by the lady who owned the cafe, who was the most delightful, helpful and friendly host! They had an amazing gluten free menu with so many options; I was totally spoilt for choice. The food was the best we had on our Northern Ireland trip. So comforting and filling, and such good value for money! We are sad we live so far away from this cafe so we can't visit more, but strongly recommend a visit to this place - it's totally worth it!

Tutto veramente buono, zuppe, piatti principali e i dolci... In 4 abbiamo speso 58€. Servizio non velocissimo ma sarà una bellissima esperienza!

We marked our aunt’s significant birthday with a celebratory afternoon tea in most relaxed and homely surroundings. Christine could not have done more to make this a real treat for all of us. The soup was delicious; homemade scones and cakes were fresh, tasty...and she assured us, calorie free! (Not sure I believe her though!!) And to top it all off, Christine produced a mint aero roulade, adorned with the obligatory candles. This was not my first visit to this hidden gem and it certainly will not be my last! Thank you again, Christine.

This place must not be missed! We found it quite by chance and the parking area in front of the cafe was full. About 100 yards (metres) along the road is a car park that had plenty of space for out Motorhome. A brisk walk back and we entered the world of a bygone era! Ignore the hairdressers and the post office counter and pass right to the back of the premises to find the quaintest cafe imaginable and the most charming lady as “front of house”. There is a large variety of food available and everything is cooked to order and very fresh.... not a fast food outlet but enjoy the ambience whilst waiting for your grub. I can recommend the delicious chips but all tastes catered for including a massive Sunday lunch. We brought a boiled fruit cake away with us that is delicious and may have to pop back for some more! If passing, do drop in, or plan a stop here... you will not be disappointed! Thank you for a wonderful experience and helpful advice

There is a really interesting menu of choices for breakfast/brunch & lunch, from a simple bacon bap to an amazing pancake stack with bacon, drizzled with maple syrup (my kids loved these!) Even my toddler was very well looked after and sensed the relaxed atmosphere which the hosts Emma and Christine provided. The lunch menu is equally varied and well priced. No sense of being rushed at this cafe either. It's a great pitstop on the north coast tourist route, with plenty of free parking outside. We left feeling like we had received a nourishing brunch and a very warm relaxed welcome to the area. We will definitely come again & I will be recommending this cafe to friends who are visiting the Ballycastle/north antrim area.

Christine is the perfect hostess. Nothing is to much trouble for her and she always has a smile on her face. She makes our visits so enjoyable and the food is 5 star. Absolutely no complaints about anything.

This is a wonderful place - Christine was so welcoming and couldn't do enough for us - really outstanding service. The food is cooked by Christine and her daughter - all freshly made on the premises and just delicious. We couldn't recommend Barnish Coffee House highly enough and will definitely make this our go-to place in Ballycastle.

We went here for brunch. Decided on it as it is top of the list for Ballycastle. Christine makes you feel so welcome then you get the food. What can i say other than my taste buds and stomach were in heaven. Definitely recommend calling in to Christine for a fry if visiting Ballycastle as you'll not get a better one anywhere else. Will definitely be back. Thanks Christine

Every time we visit the Barnish Cafe we are greeted with a very warm welcome. The cafe has a family atmosphere and children are made very welcome. All the food is cooked to order and nothing seems too much trouble for the attentive staff. We have enjoyed paninis, chicken coujons, sausage, beans and chips to name but a few - the homemade fries look amazing and one that I hope to taste on our next trip up. The scones and tray bakes are pretty good too. Should not be missed on a visit to the North Antrim Caost.

We dropped in here having toured round the Ballycastle area. Surprisingly few eateries out of towns and we were welcomed in to a busy bar/restaurant. Our hostess was diligent in helping us choose from the menu and the food was excellent. Well recommended as Hunters Bar.

So glad we decided to stop at this homely wee place. Tea served in china cups, knitted tea cosy, interesting cute objects and wee books around the place all make for a lovely atmosphere.I had home-made soup and the most delicous home baked wheaten bread then we had scones with jam and cream and I have to say they were the best scones we've ever had, tasty and so light The owner is a lovely, friendly lady and the young waitresss was very nice too. If you are in the area I definitely recommend popping in. If we are ever up that way again we most certainly will

Stopped in based on TripAdvisor reviews, and we were not disappointed. Easy to find -- just outside of Ballycastle in Ballyvoy. Food was traditionally Irish and excellent -- I had the breakfast, and my mum had chicken on the bone with lovely veg and mash. Service was also very good, and the prices were reasonable. We enjoyed chatting with Christine.

Good food, great value, friendly staff - what more could you ask for? The Barnish has it all and more. Located in the peaceful little village of Ballyvoy, just a couple of miles out of Ballycastle, it is the perfect "get away from it all" location to enjoy great cooking and hospitality. Definitely worth travelling the extra few miles for! You won't be disappointed.

Stopped for something to eat after visiting Ballycastle on the Cushendall road, Barnish Cafe, a lovely warm, modern yet homely cafe through the back of the shop at the garage. Plenty of parking space outside and nearby. The food was fresh and delicious, we all thoroughly enjoyed our meals, homemade bread, soup, pasta, salads, spicy chicken etc. Staff friendly and helpful, the cafe is bright and tastefully decorated, also spotlessly clean. Will definitely be back!

I come here everytime i'm in the area (climbing at Fair Head). The malteser cheesecake is outrageous and the Ulster fry up excellent. Everything about the Barnish is fantastic, except the opening hours which should be a lot longer so we can turn up more often. A seriously great place, well done everyone!

In the land of Breakfast Fry-Ups, Barnish Cafe, and it's near neighbour Hunter's Bar are outstanding. It's so unfair to have my loyalties tested like this every time I fancy a breakfast out. Christine is the perfect hostess with a computer like memory for your preferences, we visited yesterday i.e. myself sister and brother in-law, maybe 2 months since our last visit and she remembered my sister liked 2 shots of coffee in her latte, and had recommended she should try the Gingerbread syrup for the latte. It was there and available that morning. Harry commented on the fact that his teacup was pre-warmed and the generous pot of tea was kept warm with a cute handknitted teacosy! And as for the bacon, heaven cooked to perfection, best I've eaten out in years. If I can drop just a wee hint...........while I enjoy black pudding, I prefer the white! Breakfast wise everything is cooked to order, nothing pre-cooked so if it's busy you'll just have to be patient, but well worth the wait.

The best little port on a cold wet day. We visited Ballintoy on a typically dreary day and the cafe was so cosy warm and welcoming. Staff are wonderful, coffee was fabulous and the cakes were out of this world. Since great views too. Highly recommend!
