First time at James St., for my wife and I, on recommendation of my son-in-law. A busy Saturday evening didn’t spoil the experience in any way…. Among our best dining-out experiences… and, possibly, one of the best steaks I have eaten.
Exceptional food tonight for our large party service was excellent. The range of flavours and attention to detail in presentation was impressive. The cocktails were very sumptuous and it was great to see a selection of non alcoholic options. All in all a great dining experience!. Can't wait to go back !
Food was lovely, I really enjoyed the hot honey garlic bread it is a must try! Cocktails were fab! What really made it was the fantastic service from Niamh. Will be back!
Very accommodating considering we had a vegan for lunch. The roast chicken dinner was the best I've ever tasted no lie! Everyone loved the food and service.
Great hotel ten minutes walk from City center.
Room was spotless and bed was so comfortable.
We had the breakfast it was really good value and a good choice.. looking forward to staying here again on our next trip to Belfast
The Woodworkers: Where Beer is Religion and Bartenders Are Saints.
After a truly abysmal run-in with another pub-that-shall-not-be-named, we wandered into The Woodworkers hoping for a pint and a palate cleanse — and ended up having one of the best beer experiences of our lives.
The place oozes cool without trying too hard: laid-back vibes, an excellent selection, and bartenders who actually like people (a shocking concept, apparently). We were curious about the beer tasting flight — and even though the official “beer experience” didn’t start until 16:00, we showed up fashionably early at 14:00 like eager beer nerds with no sense of time.
Enter the bartender — That young woman is an absolute legend.
Not only did she not roll her eyes or throw us out for daring to exist before beer o’clock, she straight-up went above and beyond. She served us a glorious tasting board with eight different beers, explaining each one with genuine enthusiasm and that effortless Belfast charm.
She gave us more than we paid for, both in quality and kindness. By the end, we felt like we’d just taken a mini craft beer masterclass — and had a few good laughs along the way.
This place gets it. Great beer, good people, zero attitude. Whether you’re a beer geek or just here for a good time, The Woodworkers delivers. And if you’re lucky enough to be served by that bartender — give her a raise and a medal. Or at least a thank-you pint.
10/10 would get accidentally tipsy here again.
Visited here years ago and found it to be very nice. Went again on Saturday night and I doubt I’ll be back.
Food was very hit or miss. It felt slapped together without much thought. Seabass was overcooked and the ox had very poor consistency.
Plenty of optional extras on the menu, for a relatively expensive tasting menu this seemed excessively greedy. Service was the bare minimum.
Sakura is one of my favourite places to eat in Belfast. It is a very affordable sushi option , which so much amazing and yummy options to choose from! The staff here are always so welcoming and attentive, it is one of the reasons I enjoy the dining experience here so much! The first time I ever visited they communicated how the service works in terms of the conveyer belt and ordering off the menu. It has been my go to sushi spot ever since!
