Ryan's Bar and Restaurant in Belfast

Went for a quiz night, had food and drinks before hand. Overall it was a fun night, but there were a few issues. The food was really nice, but the menu is a bit confusing for vegetarian and vegan options. It says the meat version and then vegetarian/vegan options available. For example there's a King Prawn Risotto which says vegan options available, but it doesn't say what is in the vegan option. This means that you have to ask the server about what's in every vegetarian/vegan option. Would be better if there was a separate vegetarian & vegan menu, or a separate section on the main menus. There were no coasters/beer mats on the tables, so the condensation of the drinks kept getting the table wet. Halfway through the night the upstairs area got really warm, and a lot of people seemed to be struggling with it. It was probably only this warm because it was a quiz night and was completely full, but they should have turned on the air conditioning.

Fab food, great deals, amazing staff so welcoming and accommodating. Will be back soon.

Stopped in for a couple of pints with my son before heading to the football at Windsor.Manager was welcoming to all football fans and we had burger,chips and bottle of beer for £10 ,hard to beat😀

Great atmosphere and good, reasonably priced food.... fantastic way to spend a few hours before an international match at Windsor Park.

Absolute gem of a restaurant, as a person abroad the brews offered were beyond delicious from the local breweries, and the sausages and mash were incredible if I could kiss the chef I would, much love!

Great food and service Sunday roast had run out of Yorkshires but provided extra roasties instead. Great vegetarian option too.

Very nice environment, we sat down immediately and within half an hour we had all the dishes ordered. Very standard but good burger, dish with chicken curry definitely better. The environment is very quiet and suitable for groups or families.

After many years I decided to come here with my friend for Sunday lunch. Both male staff wasn't nice to me. But nice to other people. I don't mean all is like that. Yet male with glasses told me don't be so rude to me and can just cancelled order and go. I make myself to upstairs get someone else to serve is nicely instead. He didnt serve me at table i make it myself to him instead. What the hell all this service and make my mood next time wont be back again. They didn't say sorry just saying excuse its due to bank holidays or sunday is busy. Its very disappointed so no tip for them. Was 1st I got to send to upstairs to get seat then he told me go downstairs. Waste my 5 min time just to get table for 2! Bank holidays isn't issue they are not a great restaurant. My friend told me they can go upstairs last time. How come I can't? Plenty of seats. Remember the male staff serve at bar he Is wearing the glasses. Stay away from him! He needs more training or get fired.

Me and my friend came for a few drinks and staff couldn’t be more friendly. Gemma and Garry were so helpful we arnt from this area but they gave us great suggestions on where to go for the rest of the night. Friendliest staff I have ever met.

Came across this wee gem of a place when on holiday in Belfast. Food was great. Quick unobtrusive service. Friendly staff. There is a lift at the back of the bar area which we used. Would recommend Steak and Ryan's Curry.

Modern pubs in the UK often offer a reasonably priced menu of classic 'popular' dishes. This pub is welcoming and the staff are very friendly. The food is very good.

Enjoyed the Sunday roast at Ryan's. Efficient, friendly service, great portions and amazing value for money. Will be back.

Friendly, attentive staff. Lovely food at reasonable prices (mexican burger and a beer for £10!) couldn't go wrong. The kids food was generous and my wife's steak was cooked perfectly

This find is 2 minutes from where we were staying in Belfast, All our food was great, lots of it at a great price. Nice selection of Drinks. Very friendly waiting staff and a quiz to finish off the evening.

Well first in Ireland and would recommend Ryan’s bar and grill, from when we walked in to have our food the service was absolutely fantastic, and for the food I had belly pork I was beautiful, my wife had Ryan’s chicken curry (2 course for £14) The bar has a great atmosphere and everyone was very friendly, well done to all thank you

Absolutely loved it last quiz night great fun drinks where a little on the expensive side but I Di come from a little town outside Leeds where it’s a little cheap but I loved it going again tonight but having food. Only had a cheesecake but it melted in my mouth and worth every penny. Very friendly great staff fabulous atmosphere. Defo 5 stars and more thank you see you later tonight I wish I lived here.

What a great find! Went to Ryan's for dinner on our short stay in Belfast as it was next to where we were staying. The staff were so welcoming and friendly with some laugh out loud stories. The food was absolutely delicious and went down a treat (as did the cocktails) even my picky 9 year old son finished his plate. Loved the ambience, everyone so laid back and friendly. Would highly recommend if you're staying nearby.

Typical pub grub, service amazing, starter and main for £14.99, can’t complain.

Just visited Belfast for a short break. We stayed at The Malone on Eglantine Ave. We found Ryan's by accident on our first night and were struck by the number of people coming in who had booked tables to eat. On our second night, we had dinner and were not disappointed. We opted for the two courses special at £14 per head. The food was excellent, and the staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. Special thanks to Tiarnan, who looked after us really well. For anyone visiting Belfast and staying in the vicinity, Ryan's is on Lisburn Road, and well worth a visit. We strongly recommend this bar for both food, drink and atmosphere.

Had a lovely meal here today for 6 people .5 people got 14 pound 2 coarse meal which was beautiful. 1 person got sausage and mash of the lunch menu .we got 2 teas .bill came to 95.55 .we couldn't understand why we were short for the bill with 3 of us throwing extra money in for the tip . 2 of the party were counting out change to pay for the bill so we never even thought to question the bill until we returned home .on counting the bill should have come to 86 pounds not 95 pounds .when I phoned ryans I was told for a table over 6 there is a 10 per cent service charge .this is not printed on the menu .yet it is added unto bill .ryans said it is at customer s discretion whether they pay this or not .yet nobody informed us this would be added on .so if we had known this we would not of left a large tip on top of this .so just warning ⚠️ everyone to be careful. Either split your party into less than 6 or don't leave a tip on top of 1 you have already been charged for .I recommend ryans to everyone love there food and there service and have never been charged a service charge before .but will not be returning after this

Great food at fair prices. We had a “KombiMenu” consisting of a starter or dessert and a main course. All very tasty. The staff is very attentive and friendly.

Great buzz about the place. Vegan burger was good, not great though but friends enjoyed their meat burger and veggie curry

Been going here for 11 years. We’ve never had an issue. We went yesterday and my partner wearing a jacket with a visible football top underneath. (Rangers) we were told he had to keep his jacket on. Which I was shocked about as we’ve been before and never have been asked. I mean we go every year for st paddy’s day and they customers are in Ireland tops, tricolour face paints and Ryan’s bar itself decorates. So why would a rangers top not be allowed. Very disappointed in Ryan’s and has ruined it for me. We have been loyal customers for so long and know the managers.

Was a great place to go. Food was so good I had the shrimp Rosoto and rib appetizer. My hubby had burger and desert, and all was delicious. Would highly recommend!

We had so much fun at this place tonight, plus a great dinner including starter, dessert and drinks. Very congenial atmosphere and a high energy manager with great customer service. 👍👍

Menu has been updated since last visit and it's gotten it's gone from great to very average. Reduced options, and poor design compared to the last time we visited. Assuming there is a new chef as even the boxty's - which used to be a real favourite - have gone. Presentation has dropped, as has flavour. Vegetarian options are now just meatless meat dishes and very boring. Meat eating companions also said the quality seemed to have dropped since last visit. Used to feel like you were getting a real treat at a bargain price, and while the food is still a bargain price, it's sadly now nothing special. Drinks are still a great price, foh staff are still wonderful, and atmosphere is still great. Will be back for drinks as always but will be eating at home or elsewhere until they sort out the menu.

Last night meal on a Monday. 2 courses for £14 .loads to choose from and both pork belly and chicken curry superb.great banoffee as well .can see why very busy.

A popular bar in the local community - typical pub vibe. Cozy atmosphere inside but also a few wooden benches on the pavement to enjoy the sunset and traffic. Disappointing was we were unable to get any dinner as they were short of servers and were too busy.

Can't comment on the food but have been in multiple occasions for drinks. There is quite an extensive drinks menu and the lemonchello spritz cocktail is so refreshing its just like drinking lemonade.....tasty, morish and pure deadly after a few so highly recommend

The food is amazing. I wanted to lick my plate! Staff are lovely & friendly. I could feel the good vibes. The restaurant and bar has a great atmosphere . The toilets are spotless. I'll be back on my next visit.

Came here for my wife's birthday while visiting Belfast, delicious food, very reasonable prices (compared to everywhere else we looked) extremely friendly staff whose names I forgot to get! Overall a fantastic experience that we will happily repeat next time we are here!

In the last month I’ve eaten here three times - as a couple, with family & friends. Every visit has been superb. The staff are warm & efficient & the meal deal is amazing value. The food is fantastic, hot & plentiful. Highly recommend!

Great spot for an affordable, delicious meal. 2 courses for £14 is an offer that can’t be matched in most main cities. The quality of the food was fantastic. Great service, child friendly and comfortable environment. Thoroughly enjoyed and will definitely return on our next visit to Belfast.

Cosy pub serving Guinness and friendliness at a very reasonable price

Stopped in here after a lovely trip around the Ulster Museum. The food was amazing, so tasty and despite being quite busy the service was very fast. Two courses for £14 is hard to beat! It's a must try! We will definitely be back. No photos of the food as I was too hungry, but the local art 'Ricky drew a piccy' were funny 😆

Eat here at Christmas time and had a great meal, went back recently and the quality wasn't as good. Advisable to reserve a table if going at the weekend. Apparently the chicken wings are the go to dish

In Ireland for the weekend and nipped in for lunch. Absolutely gorgeous food and friendly staff. It's clean, tidy and q good range of cocktails. 100% recommended. :)

Went for the first time last night. The food was absolutely delicious and the Guinness went down a dream. I can highly recommend Ryan's and will be back on my next visit to wonderful Belfast.

Pleasant local pub where the staff are warm and the drinks are cold!

Having read Ryan's owners response to my previous comment (and reading the argumentative way in which most negative comments are responded to) I would like to amend my review. By error we arrived late, although this could have been managed more professionally and less aggressive by serving staff. The members of staff in question were not polite. The following comments "I need to put you under pressure" and "Let's get you fed" were not received as polite by our family, in particular my son, who started to cry. It is clear there is a rigorous policy regarding table management but unfortunately this goes alongside a lack of quality customer service. We will not return and definitely would not recommend to others. Lovely food and value for money but service was poor with staff too concerned about getting you back out of the door. Overall it's wasn't a relaxing family experience.

We ordered 2 meals fish and chicken supreme the girl said only breaststroke left I ask her did it come with the sauce she said yes when it came it was covered in brown gravy and the chips were limp my partners was lovely so I left mine and eat half of his the girl did ask did I want something else but I said no in saying that they took for my meal when we got the bill was surprised as they saw my plate won't be back

Food and staff excellent, just a pity about the foul mouthed folk at the adjoining table who had no consideration for any other patrons, particularly the many young children there.

Great atmosphere as always. Lovely cocktails and were able to use aquafaba instead of egg whites to make them SFV. Great service from Tiarnan!

Great wee place, lovely grub at good prices

I have been here quite a few times and I cannot fault the food or the staff, excellent attentive staff and polite and chatty, food is always good in the few times I have been there, my review is based solely on my experience here and my review can change depending on my next time eating out here.

Great place but don't expect to be served fast. We were waiting for food for over an hour and when asking for an update the waitress was very rude and said they were just busy. The thing is though that other people who arrived 30 minutes after us got their food before us.

I was very impressed with our first visit to Ryans Bar. The staff are all so friendly and attentive, the food is amazing we really enjoyed our visit. We both had chicken wings and they were really delishious, we had the Steak Sandwich and added a side of veg we then ordered dark chocolate and pecan pie to share, we also had 2 drinks and a Cappuccino and i have to say it was worth every penny. Very reasonable prices we will definitely be back.

The staff here are absolutely lovely, they were so busy and we were a bit late for our meal due to waiting on a taxi but they accommodated us, the roasted cod with crispy leaks was lovely as was the pecan tart, £14 for 2 courses, great value for money, poor staff were run off their feet but were friendly, helpful and professional, will definitely be back, thank yous

Przyszliśmy do restauracji po wcześniejszym obejrzeniu menu na stronie. Okazało się, że jest nieaktualne... Uważam, że restauracja powinna to poprawić. W kolejnym kroku zamówiłam drinka z menu które przyniósł nam kelner... Oczywiście "brak". Burgery suche, ale zjadliwe. Ogólnie najbardziej podobał mi się wystrój restauracji.

We arrived at 3 minutes past 8 and they refused us food because it stopped at 8pm. A couple who walked in behind us were given menus and seated. The staff member who turned us away was not a bit pleasant. Ryan's have just responded to this post with a line stating "staff try to be nice when dealing with irate customers". We are not people who get irate. How dare you.

Don't bother unless you are a local or a regular. Walked in, was ignored by first few workers who saw us, then told table wasn't ready, got a drink, pourer talked to a regular while pouring, ignored for a further twenty minutes, cancelled booking and left. Had walked in pouring rain to get there and shouldn't have bothered.

Arrived at 8:03pm and the food stopped at 8pm. They would not accommodate us. The refusal was not very nice either. It was obvious from our accent that we were visitors but that made no difference. A couple came in behind us and were taken to a table and handed a menu? Hopefully it was a cocktail menu but??? However they did us a favour as we found a fantastic Chinese Restaurant on Eglantine Ave. The food was fabulous and the staff pleasant and very professional.

Was in yesterday, Saturday 25th November, service was good but food was a big disappointment. Beef burger very dry and chicken burger was processed chicken and also very dry even with mayo, which we had to ask for. Not good at all.

Decent bang for your buck in Ryan's. Wish the burger had of came dressed, it was quite plain and a bit dry. Guinness was great though 👌🏼

Had a very good meal along with a decent pint. The staff were very friendly and on the ball.
