Went here for dinner, the restaurant was only half full, after 30 minutes only our drink orders had been taken. We had to ask staff could we order food which took another 40 minutes to arrive. The food was lovely when it did come but I go here again unless I had hours to spare

Food was great but we had to ask to order drinks, had to ask twice to order food - nearly half an hour til our food order was taken - we had allowed an hour and a half to have dinner. We waited an hour an 20 minutes for our food which we had to inhale so we could leave for our show. There were only 6 people in the restaurant when we arrived, when we complained that we had to leave the waiter brought out food for a table of 2 who came in after us. No discount - no free drinks - this is not a place you can have dinner and then go somewhere. I’d make sure to book the whole night off for this place - a real shame as the food was beautiful though the veggie options were all basic

Six of us went for a meal on the 17th of October to celebrate my son's birthday. We arrived at 6pm and were warmly greeted by a member of staff. This particular member of staff both served and interacted with us for most of the evening and could not have been more pleasant. All other staff members were also very friendly and helpful and the food was lovely. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Food Service was ever so slow , yes there was a large party in and some delay was expected but just too slow . Food served was okay and tasty especially the Monkfish Scampi , but it was obvious that if you’re a regular or well know to staff you get a better service and more quantity of food. I have been here now three times , and always walked away disappointed, this would be my last visit , sorry guys just too inconsistent and made feel unwelcome.

Very disappointed in Graze tonight . Having discovered the special Friday dining offers on the Graze website we booked for 7:30 as had to visit elderly mother in hospital first . On arrival we were seated at very back of restaurant- initially pleased as thought this was a nice quiet & private space . We soon discovered it was the main pathway between the bar and kitchen and so we had constant traffic of the 3 staff members who were running round like headless chickens! After being seated we asked for the special Friday menu- Hoping to get the steak deal of 2 sirloins for £40 . The waiter had to go and ask about it and then the woman in charge came over and said it stopped at 7:00. We explained the website didn’t make that clear / she proceeded to tell us it was clear on social media - but how would we know that if we didn’t follow Graze 🤷♀️and on the door but again we wouldn’t know that when booking 🤷♀️. She said she would check the website - then returned to tell us we were right, it didn’t state a time but we were still too late . All she kept saying was I can only apologise - however any other restaurant in such circumstances would surely do more than apologise and honour the deal as advertised on their website . We felt this very poor customer service. It was almost 20 mins until we were then told what the soup and specials were and eventually order taken. A carafe of water was placed on table which was tepid - when order was taken we asked for ice and the waiter told us they were out of ice. The barman who was the most professional of all the staff eventually came over with a glass of ice explaining he had had to go out and get more and they now had some. The meal was ok - nothing special. My husband when booking had added that it was my birthday - but no one even said happy birthday - so why even ask on the booking form to ‘add a special request’ We hadn’t visited Graze for quite some time since moving out of the area and it will be even longer before we consider returning - sad to see a previous favourite decline in standards.

Six of us had a meal on Saturday night. Have eaten here before and thought the food was great but it was very poor on this occasion. Fobbed off with nearly black chips, gristle steak and a pepper sauce that had the consistency of milk and completely without discernible flavour. Even the water was stale and had a strange sweetness. Service was OK if a little ghoulish...won't be going back any time soon if ever

Roasts arnt their forte, I'm guessing. Came here looking for a Sunday roast, and was excited about the options on the menu. The starters were good, the sizzling prawns and French onion soup especially. But the mains were a big disappointment. The roast beef wasnt roast beef, it was 2 thin rubbery frying steaks. The veg had no flavor, the roasties were undercooked and there was just no saving grace to the plate. We let the servers know (who were all very friendly), and all that was offered was a complimentary desert. At this point we didn't want to take a chance on any other dishes so asked for the bill. I don't know what the rest of their menu is, but I wouldn't come here if you're looking for a roast with any flavor. Big let down for £28 a head

Big problems in the kitchen last night!, food prep stopped, no main courses were served to a large number of tables, people waiting 1.5 hrs for a main course which, if it arrived at all, was very burnt or poorly prepared or not as per menu. It was clear to the full restaurant of guests sitting waiting for hours for meals to arrive, and observing anxious and embarrassed staff who had nothing to serve, that a big problem was unfolding in the kitchen! It was not a front of house fault. Everyone appreciated that problems happen. sadly in this case, the lack of timely or effective communication by the manager with the guests about the issues happening, led to frustration, confusion and disappointment when finally one or two meals arrived intermittently but completely burnt and others never arrived after 2.5 hrs in the restaurant! Sadly it was left to embarrassed customers to ask for their bills to be adjusted or refuse to pay for food they never received, was burnt or poor quality not as per menu. management missed an opportunity to offer an upfront apology, recompense or alternative bookings. We left the restaurant after 2.5 hrs with no main course and still no explanation by the restaurant manager for the obvious problems.yes, our bill was reduced and we were offered a free bottle of wine which was appreciated by us, but only after we complained and asked for recompense. Clearly a management issue on a number of counts. It was a pity to experience this debacle as normally an excellent restaurant.

Table booked 7.30 nice polite staff. Drinks and starters arrived all good. Over an hour later asked if food was available. Nice staff and apology for delay. Some time later food arrived, a small monkfish dish not properly cooked raw and cold in the middle was presented, on complaint the appearance of a manager/owner who was obviously stressed and not in good form focused on some nonsense and excuse about 33 minutes between courses. A refusal to accept and explain nicely what had gone wrong topped with an abrupt negative response resulted in our refusal to accept the main course and request the bill for starters and drinks and leave. An unacceptable experience which we will not be repeating.

Shocked that this establishment only has one star food hygiene and appears nothing has been addressed since Nov 23. Waited 1.5hrs and only had starters, ended up leaving. Painfully slow service. Sat for nearly 2 hours waiting on the main course. Other customers were visibly angry waiting on their food also and some even left before it came out. The “manager” left the younger staff members to deal with all the customers complaints. When we asked to speak to the manager we were told she was “too busy”. The younger staff were actually very good and put up with a lot of complaints and handled them professionally, unlike the manager who was rude and unprofessional. Any business can have a bad day but I would never go near this place again because of the management, which is a shame because the younger waiting staff were excellent.

What on earth has happened to this restaurant? As a local I have eaten here quite a few times over the years with no complaints, on the contrary I have always found it to be excellent. Dinner yesterday was an altogether different experience unfortunately. We were seated upstairs which is never good, zero atmosphere, cold, too far from the kitchen, only one member of staff (no complaints here, she was very pleasant and did her best). To add insult to injury, there were many empty seats around, including an extra cover on our table for 4, despite having been told on Friday that my booking couldn’t be increased from 4 to 5 because there was “no room”. Incredibly slow service (probably the longest delay between courses I’ve ever experienced), one main course was cold and sent back, roast beef was as tough as old boots, without gravy (until it turned up on the side plate of someone else not having beef), sorbet selection was more like soup and comprised mostly the same “champagne” sorbet offered as a palate cleanser. All in all it took so long and was so disappointing that we couldn’t wait to leave. I was utterly embarrassed to bring my mother here for Mother’s Day.

They had no record of my booking upon arrival despite ringing to confirm a few hours beforehand. In total spent 2.5 hours in the restaurant as there was a 1hr wait between starters and main course- we could see other tables experiencing the same. Their 'champagne' palette cleanser seemed to actually be a scoop of frozen coconut milk. The same frozen coconut milk was served up for dessert as their 'sorbet assortment' and we had to send this back. No explanation was offered for any of the above. Overall a shockingly bad experience for the price.

We went to Graze as a Mother’s Day treat. We had been before and had liked it. First disappointment was noticing the one star hygiene rating. When we went in we were told the table wasn’t ready and we had to wait for a few minutes upstairs, on a bench beside a couple who were trying to eat their dinner quietly. We were a party of 5 with a toddler! When our starters arrived ( about 40 minutes wait) my prawns were obviously forgotten No one seemed to notice that I didn’t have a plate in front of me and I had to ask. No complaints about the food and my 3 yr old grandaughter was given her meal with our starters so she was in good form …… for a while. At almost 4.30pm we were still waiting for our main course. Our table had been booked for 3pm . By this time the 3 yr old was wanting to go home. We decided we couldn’t wait any longer as she was going to see her other granny just after 5 pm and we knew we wouldn’t have finished our meal. I realise that Mother’s Day is a busy day but there is no excuse for the long wait without any explanation or apology. A good business would have staff keep customers up to date, offer more drinks and try to keep their diners happy. We will not be back. There are plenty of other restaurants in the area.

Painfully slow service! We were there 1.5 hours before the mains made their way out. The food was over-seasoned to the point that my steak was almost inedible, the roast gravy so unbelievably salty, chicken dry, pannacotta tasteless… I could tell that my mum was so disappointed and we were there for her Mother’s Day treat. The people around us faced the same issues and looked totally exasperated. One person sent their plate back as it arrived cold. So very disappointing! The £14 service charge added insult to injury. Painfully slow service! Our starters took 45 minutes to make it to the table from arrival. The mains came out 1.5 hours after arrival. I love a bit of seasoning but the steak tasted like it had been drowned in salt, was not cooked to order and was chewy. The roast gravy was also incredibly salty, the chicken was dry with so little stuffing I’m not sure why they even bothered and the white chocolate pannacotta was completely tasteless. Oh and to add insult to injury they slapped a £14 service charge on for our table of 4. Needless to say we will not be back nor could I recommend based on this evenings experience. The tables around us had equally horrendous waits for their food and weren’t one little bit impressed either. One person actually had to send their plate back as their sea bass was cold. I had booked my wife and myself in as a treat for her birthday. This was a Sunday night at 7.30. Place was almost empty. Three other tables occupied. Waitress didn’t even ask my name, but just said sit where you like. She came to us after about five minutes to take our drinks order. My wife asked for a glass of rose. The barman shouted over that there was no Rose left. She then asked for a glass of Prosecco, again barman called over, none left. She settled for a espresso martini cocktail. I asked what beers they had and was told all they had left was Peroni. How can a restaurant run out of basic drinks. My wife has an intolerance to anything from the onion family, that includes garlic, chives, scallions etc and asked the waitress to check if the chef could tweak any of the starters. Any decent chef should be able to do this. She came back and said all she could have was the scallops. I had the salt and chilli squid. My starter was ok but my wife got four small scallops, which she finished in about two minutes. Again for the main she asked to see what could be done and all she was offered was the linguine. I ordered the rib eye, to be done medium to well. My wife’s linguine was pretty much just pasta with some basic cream. Not very nice at all. My steak was less than medium/well and quite fatty. Very poor steak. We were in and out again in less than an hour, as we didn’t want to linger in a place that didn’t have any decent drinks. All in all very very poor and overpriced for the quality of food. Very disappointing birthday treat. We certainly won’t be returning any time soon.

I had a 3 course meal here last night and I have to say the food was out of this world. It is the tastiest food that's passed my lips for a while. The chips tasted like my Gran dad's homemade ones!! Also I was excited to see cauliflower and cheese on the menu....you never see that on a menu. It came with those chips on the side and a side of salad with olives which was super tasty. My starter was a breaded mushroom which I was expecting to be a tad on the greasy side but I needn't have worried it was really lovely the way they did it. I also got very excited to see bread and butter pudding on the menu....one of my favourite old school desserts. To be fair it wasn't anything like the original one and more a play on it....like an up market bread and butter pudding but it was so tasty. The only criticism came, not from me, but my two friends had "greens" come with their meal. One got a single stalk of broccoli and the other two bits of what looked like kale. All in all a fantastic night with the perfect soundtrack for Valentine's Day and our waitress Lucie was a wee gem. I think I might have actually found one of my favourite restaurants in Belfast! Oh also wanted to say I can't believe I got my three course meal and the bread and dips for the table for £38! An absolute steal. Well done Graze. 👏

Disappointed, arrived at 7.25, too late for early bird, excuse given of till not allowing the earlier pricing at this later time, finishes at 7.30, ordered, waited 45 minutes for steak, pasta and fish main course, no service in between, 30 minutes in we asked a member of staff about our order, waitress told us it took 28/29 minutes to process order so this was about right?, honestly?, and staff were down by 30 %, waited another 10 minutes, now 40 minutes in, kids pasta came, another 5 minutes until our main courses arrived, no service, no apology, just waiting, we were so hungry at this stage we were happy to get anything. We were right beside the bar/toilet where all the staff congregated, we continued to have no attention before or after food, having to ask for bill. The main waitress who had a really strong smell of smoke was no where to be seen after the kids pasta was served. Food ok, portions small, service terrible. First time I haven’t left a tip for years. Very disappointed…first up the wine list was amateurish, I think someone thinks they are a restaurateur! I remember the story about man who put chocolate in his chilli, yes it has potential if done right… The sales pitch was glorious and we all had bought into this exotic taste experience! Then we tried the chocolate chilli, oh dear,he had convinced himself and us of grandeur cheffing ability or an ability to serve a high standard of taste. Food is trust and that has been broken. Well lets say once we took a mouthful there was a long silence, not of sublime amazement of something unique, but of shock! Yes shock, that the sale pitch tasted better than what was in our mouths…Our Graze experience was just like that chocolate chilli story, a shock! Will not go into the details but very very disappointed. Wine and food, bottom third if one was grading. Stick to steak and chips, can’t go wrong there.

We have been going to Graze since it first opened and there are a few guarantees. The first one is that whatever comes out of the kitchen will be excellent. The second is that if you open the door of the restaurant and see Alana standing there you know that you can sit down and relax as you will get looked after as well as if not better than any restaurant in Belfast and I have been to many of them. The combination of fantastic food and such welcoming and friendly service from Alana is why we keep going back to Graze.

Atrocious inedible food for me. My aubergine was so undercooked the fork almost stood upright in it. Drab accompanying vegetables poorly presented and under cooked. I sent it back. My coffee at the end was vile. Burnt and bitter. My husband had steak which he said was almost inedible. Chewy and veiny and a friend had his packed up in a doggy bag. Another friend initially ordered scallops but was told only 2 of 15 in the fridge were fresh and usable. None of our company was really satisfied. The place was expensive and over rated online. As we left staff members were out the back smoking. An utterly underwhelming experience .

The service from waiting staff was good, though I am concerned that our seat we could see staff, going out a back door to smoke...didn't see hand washing thereafter & smelt smoke from staff. The food itself was of high quality but not great portion sizes, my scallops were tiny. It's a shame the steak I had was tasty, well made but again accompanying food was off small portions. My partners chicken was cooked well but not seasoned nor was the champ, she thought the sauce was very " watery thin" Overall we enjoyed the tastes but actually bought a pizza later on as we were so hungry, as the portions were small. Tasty food yes.. good portion sizes no. Oh and no 1 wants to see staff out smoking nor acting daft in the background. 2.5 out off 5.

I had heard a lot about Graze, the little, well-established restaurant in Ballyhackamore, Belfast. My aunt is a fan, and lunches there regularly. An old friend was over from Edinburgh, so we decided to reserve a table. Last night (Wednesday, 6th September, 2023) was one of the warmest evenings, and I'm wondering if Graze has air conditioning? There was a large device on the ceiling. At any rate, this little establishment was thriving when we arrived at 7.30pm. We were shown to our two-seater table beside the open-plan kitchen and opted for the Summer Menu. I had Wild Mushroom Tagliatelle as a starter, which was substantial enough as starters go: well presented, interesting, and tasty. My main course comprised sea-bass fillet, lemon & fennel potato gnocchi, crispy prawns, cauliflower Polonaise shellfish cream. This was not a huge portion; it was, however, delicious. My friend had ordered Ballycarry local Dexter beef burgers, tomato chutney, salad, Hegarty's cheddar, beef dripping chips. Unfortunately my pal became ill before the meal arrived, and had to leave the restaurant. "I always knew you were born with hollow legs." Living up to this legend I proceeded to consume my friend's meal of three meaty little burgers, the side salad, and some of the chips. The bill came to a very reasonable £43.95, including a tip and two glasses of Pinot Grigio. I'll be back.

The restaurant is fresh and well laid out, plenty of on street car parking. Greeted at the door and directed to our seats, given menus and then left for just under 10mins before we were asked if we wanted a drink. No offer of water or what the specials were. We asked one of the waitresses for a bottle of water and ended up with 2 from two different members of staff. Customer service was very confusing as we didn't have one dedicated server and were unsure of who was serving us, we were left to sit unattended for too long. Nice variety of choice - I opted for goats cheese fritters, beetroot, red onion marmalade, apple & bombay nut salad for starter; very tasty and just enough to not make it sickening. For my main I selected Grange Farm chicken breast, scallion potato bake, hispey cabbage, tenderstem broccoli & pea puree jus; looked lovely, I was grateful for the pea puree as the chicken was slightly dry. Portion size didn't leave you feeling you overstuffed. I selected the warm chocolate fondant with ice cream for dessert; good choice. Overall the experience was enjoyable and I would like to try it again.

But 1 hour 15 minutes until the first course came is bonkers. The atmosphere would have been better if we could have heard ourselves speak. The volume of chatter was at times overwhelming and everyone in the small dining space was shouting... but the food was worth it. And at half price because we arrived in time for early bird- how do they make any money?

Had dinner from the pre theatre menu. Arrived at 6:30 and we didn't finish until 9pm, leaving without dessert because that would have taken even longer. Not impressed with the waiting staff who needed some managing - classic avoiding eye contact, one wandering in and out of the dining room to go and chat to their mate who was smoking outside. The food when it did arrive (I only had a main course so was starving) wasn't worth the wait.

Heard great things about this place, was very quiet for a Sunday evening, we ordered starters and were very nice but it took over 40 minutes to bring out our mains. Food was over cooked and looked like it had been sitting under a heat lamp for awhile. Definitely won’t be back as there is other nice restaurants close by. Very disappointed as we were really looking forward to giving this place a go

Visited on Thursday 19th May. Had a really superb meal and which made it all the better....it was 50% off on food. They are currently promoting this deal on Wednesday and Thursday. Unbelievable value but more importantly good food. I had cod cubes which where cooked to perfection. My friend had a sirloin steak. Again excellent and for £14. Service was top notch and a great selection of wine. My advice? Visit!! Especially on a promotion evening. Advisable to book though as it was bunged.

Very good food and excellent value when dining on a Wednesday or Thursday. However, front of house management is terrible and the worst I have experienced in years. Although having to wait 40 minutes between starter and mains isn’t great, the manager said she had been in regular contact with the kitchen about the delay but only did something about it when we asked. Honestly, unless you are happy to wait a long time for your food and content with an ambivalent attitude from management go elsewhere! I certainly will.

Absolutely Loved this little restaurant, first ever visit with my friend who lives here, on holiday from Scotland and I chose here from a list of options she had given me, so glad we came. Food was amazing, great service from the staff who were warm & helpful, nothing was too much for them. Easter set menu so had 3 courses, started with squid, followed by the fish and finished it all with the meringue, super flavours and excellent presentation. Highly recommend a visit here

We had dinner at this wonderful restaurant. Met by Alanna who was very friendly and looked after us very well throughout the evening!! The menu choice was excellent!! We shared a starter, had a main course each and shared a chocolate fondant desert. Portion sizes were perfect. Everything tasted delicious and presentation was perfect. Thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience and will definitely return!!

Two of us went for lunch in Graze, the second visit for me and it will definitely not be the last.! Such a lovely little restaurant with a very good choice on the menu, but what makes it special is the service, especially from our lovely waitress who I think is called Alana - she was so attentive and nothing too much trouble even though she was really busy. My first visit was with two friends and we just called without booking and although they were closing in half an hour she made sure we were served very quickly with delicious sea bass and didn’t make us feel a nuisance as she was busy getting organised for the evening.

The food was good- when it arrived after 1hr 40 minutes to be exact. To make matters worse none of the servers checked on us the entire 1 hour and 40 minutes to apologise for the wait and it felt like our table was being completely ignored as the other tables around us were served promptly. Once the food finally arrived the server just stated “sorry for the wee wait” as if we’d only being waiting 20 minutes not nearly 2 hours. The inconvenience of the wait was not addressed and the customer service was sloppy and slow. I won’t be back.

Went here last night for a birthday treat for my brother in law with the family, what a disaster, took an hour to take our order, another hour for our starters to arrive and same for our mains to appear, the lady in charge was so unprofessional she even gave a dirty look when we complained. Her excuse was that it was very busy, well i say cut down on your tables or get more staff. I have to admit the food was delicious when it did arrive. This has happened before and we thought we would give it another try but definitely won't be back. P.s. Also when we got the bill our £100 deposit wasn't even taken off and had to pay a service charge that wasn't deserved. When we got home we noticed that we were charged for two beers when there was only one received and that was because they didn't have enough beer as their beer order was being delivered today 🙄 my husband and his brother had to share !!! did you ever hear the like of it....a restaurant with not enough beer !!!!! RANT OVER.

Went to Graze for the first time in a family group for my mums 80th. We were so impressed by the food and the service. My mum said it was the nicest food she had ever eaten. The service was perfect and the prices were very reasonable. I had the seabass with mushrooms tenderstem broccoli and conlcannon. Mushroom sauce was to die for. The fish had a lovely crispy skin on it. . Seafood dishes were amazing aswell as the steak courses. As for the sweets they were sumptous. My brother in law had the mini burgers and said they were the nicest he's ever tasted. Can't wait to go back.

A big thank you to Alana and her team at Graze. They were extremely busy but still managed to make us feel that we were the only 3 people there. We did not feel hurried nor were we left waiting long for food or drinks ordered. Food was excellent, the star for me was the short rib of beef! Very underwhelming food. There are so many new and exciting restaurants with innovative cookery. The more established restaurants need to up their game to compete. Out of 3 mains, 1 was good, 1 average and 1 poor. Disappointing.

Great service, great food. Its all good. Whenever we turn up there is always a queue, sometimes that extends as far as outside the door. The staff are brilliant though at turning around the tables. As soon as someone has paid their bill and leaving the tables are cleared and set up for the next set of customers. Once sat and you've chosen your food, you will not be disappointed, I'd always recommended the General whether you're there for breakfast, brunch or lunch.
