Fantastic. Bien jugado Shokupan 👏
The only thing letting The Fiend down is it is cold.
It’s a large venue to heat I’m sure but we had to leave and go to another pub as it just wasn’t warm, cosy and homely 🙁 which is what you want.
Lovely beer though.
Booked Lughtons for a treat as one of our team is leaving work, from the outset I had very good communication with Julia, she also rang me on the day to confirm. Upon arrival we were seated at a very nicely set table, staff came to inform us of the home made treats which would be served and were very accommodating for friends who did not like mayonnaise or butter on their sandwiches. Orders were taken for any drinks and tea was brought, followed by a large selection of sandwiches, savoury pastries, cakes and scones with jam and cream. The afternoon was thoroughly enjoyed and all leftovers were nicely packed up in plastic boxes for us to take home, I would certainly recommend going and will visit again to try out their other delicacies :)
My mum and I visited this gorgeous little cafe in Normanton. If you’re local to the area, it’s a great little spot for some brunch/lunch and the staff are all really friendly too. The menu isn’t huge but offers a good range of different options that are all very reasonably priced. The cafe is quite small inside but we didn’t struggle to find a seat.
We visited for breakfast. I ordered the banana on toast which came with peanut butter, maple syrup and blueberries. It was definitely the best banana on toast I’d ever had! Being local to the area, I’m surprised I’ve never been here before, I will certainly be returning!

Lovely little find in Halifax. I have been a few times now for lunch with my friend and always had good food. The owner Hassan is a lovely guy.
On the latest visit, tried the lamb shank and the meat was lovely and tender and just falling off the bone. For my taste, I just sprinkled some salt and it was perfect.
Finished off the meal with a pot of aromatic saffron tea 🙂
Couldn’t fault it. All the work is done by the proprietor so be prepared for a small wait. It’s not a fast food restaurant. Breakfast comes clean and not all the ingredients piled up on top of each other. Beans and tomatoes served in a side dish.
Buy local and support local is the motto here.
