The best restaurants in Rural West York York Yorkshire and The Humber

Gone downhill some what since last visit. I had an appointment at York Hospital, got out at dinnertime ,so Wetherby Whaler it was. Really busy but got a table. I am disabled & use a wheelchair but they took a chair away so I could sit up to the table. We have the seniors ,asked for them lightly battered but well done, came as we asked for them. I know they were very busy but a welcome & a smile wouldn't have gone amiss from the staff.If the can't smile & make you feel welcome then sorry they are not in the right occupation. We have tried every Whaler but won't be going back her again.

Carvery is the worst £14.50 I spent in my life. The beef was just fat? The staff dress like they are at a holiday camp and the chef sweats and wipe his nose while serving. Good luck to anyone that goes there. I would love to know the hotel and restaurant inspector that gave them 3 stars.

Best pies in York. Best pies ever tasted. Superb service too.

Después de un rebote en los trampolines para una hora, puede relajarse en la cafetería de arriba y disfrutar de comida muy agradable. Tomamos una pizza grande por solo 10 libras. La pizza realmente caliente y sabroso, con generosas porciones de queso en la parte superior y fue v delicioso. Tuve una buena taza de té. También tienen bocadillos, patatas con bacon, patatas fritas, patatas fritas coberturas cursi, perros calientes y bebidas, además de aperitivos como plazas choc.

Nice premier in, conveniently located outside York. Good restaurant and bar attached but also a good Chinese restaurant and a good fish and chips restaurant (takeaway as well) next door. And a garage with a small Asda should you need anything else. Friendly welcome and decent rooms, it does the job well

The flavouring is subtle on this dish, but it's very nice.

Just had a lovely Welcoming lunch visit here. The parmos are second to none, the best you will find outside of Teesside. The owners are so friendly, can’t wait to visit again.

Lovely find, great experience. Particularly loved the coffee and cakes were gorgeous..

Excellent chef (Connor). The steak was cooked to perfection. Our waitress (Kristine) was absolutely lovely and very thoughtful!

My favourite Indian takeaway in York.

The service was very uncomfortable with the person who served us was impatient, had an attitude showing he didn't really care, rude slamming drinks down,no manners and long waiting times for service.Food was good

We visited on April 24th having read the good reviews on here. Arrived just after 6 and the pub was already quite busy ( always a good sign) but we got a table to eat ok. We then had an excellent pub experience of some good drinks and great food. The 3 young ladies who were serving both drinks and food were all very friendly,polite and efficient. The food was good British Pub food. I had Sausage and Mash and my partner had Gammon and chips. The pub itself was old fashioned but in the best sense, beams and fireplaces, loved it. Would definitely recommend but might be worth booking.

The food was cold ...it took ages to be served and we went through the drive through..the lady on the headphones was over worked and I had to drive round to give her the last of our order as she was on her own. The staff looked miserable.

Parando en el Premier Inn de al lado, utilizamos este restaurante en nuestra visita anual a los mercados de Navidad de York. Estaba un poco consternado al leer ciertas críticas, pero las puse a un lado para juzgar por mí mismo. El servicio perfecto, la hermosa comida caliente y una noche perfecta hicieron que todo valiera la pena. El entrante de pato crujiente estaba delicioso, seguido de King Prawn Ku Bo y King Prawn y anacardos. No hay faltas de dos comensales felices. Nos vemos el año que viene

First visit to this gastro pub. Our table was ready when we arrived, the menu had a good choice of starters, main meals and desserts. All the main meals arrived hot and served on nice blue dishes. Service was prompt, there was an issue with one drink but it was promptly changed. It was clear from the moment we arrived that the pub was well managed with all staff were working as a team.
