The best restaurants in Newby Harrogate Yorkshire and The Humber

Has been closed for a few months now and I recently read on their FB page that they are not reopening. A pity as it was a decent local place with very good food.

Back in ownership of the people that made it so great. Delightful food, sometimes unexpected choices and an excellent atmosphere and service. Not the cheapest venue but worth the visit

Happen to drive past and decided to give this place a try....fantastic! Very friendly and welcoming, very helpful when it came to ordering. Both had Sunday lunches (they were out of beef so offered the beef bourginon instead which was delicious), portions were just the right size. Don't think we've ever had such great roast potatoes, so fluffy inside but crispy on the outside. Reasonably priced for the quality of food, will definitely visit again.

Personally I thought this was a great experience, a warming atmosphere and a great space it made me feel positive from the start. I ordered the fish cake to start and it was delicious, the sauce added a lovely flavour on top of the tasty and perfected fish cake it was truly splendid. For my main course I had a burger although I was at a nice establishment I was ready for a nice dirty burger, although I say dirty it wasn’t dirty at all but still had the right ingredients top class it as a dirty burger, it was tasty cooked too perfection and the right size after a good starter. On the whole my experience at this amazing restaurant/ pub was amazing such friendly faces and good jokes mad the atmosphere very comforting, and this was topped off by a delightful meal.

Popped in on the off chance. Great little pub, pool and darts friendly staff and locals.

Driving home from a day trip in my electric car (only had just enough charge to get home - didn't have enough charge for detours) and realised we had run out of water and all were thirsty & dehydrated. Stopped to get a drink - and see if we could fill up our water bottles - but sadly they were shut & the door was closed. Chap came out to where I was sitting in my car trying to work out what to do to check I was ok and gave me drinks for the kids. Above and beyond, thank you!

First of all the food was amazing i got to taste imaginary pizza for the first time, they were blatantly ignoring our family probably because we were asian, and they were serving other people that where “white” and knowing they came after us, we also asked them to come to our specific table 3 times, and they said “ok we will get someone to come” so why did it take 50 minutes for nothing then, when we first entered the place, we got all sorts of looks from all the people like we did something wrong, also when we saw them in the kitchen all they were doing was chatting and doing jack shit, so if they are not doing anything why can’t you serve our table. This was an amazing Good Friday, thank you Fox and hounds.

Fantastic food all of my family enjoyed everything we ate here today at the flower show. The staff and organisation was 5 star. Would highly recommend this place.

We have ordered food from this place twice in recent weeks as we are in the process of getting our kitchen renovated. Both times, we have ordered from the website with no issues, and there is plenty to choose off the menu. The website is really good at updating you as to how long it is going to take for the order to arrive and it was very accurate. We had different items on the two orders, pizzas and burgers and everything was delicious. When we have our kitchen back, at least we now know we have a great takeaway to treat ourselves now and again

Went for lunch on Thursday with my wife and sister in law. The food was excellent and the staff were really friendly and welcoming. Would defo again and highly recommend a visit

I would have gone if this was in Ripon, North Yorkshire. But it's not. It's in the US. The entry needs to be corrected.
