Best Sunday dinner ever. Perfectly pink, juicy and tender beef. Gorgeous

Just been for Sunday lunch. Absolutely superb. My husband and I agreed it was all really lovely and the beef was the best we’ve ever had, lovely and pink, juicy and very very tasty. I also had ham which was very tasty and tender. Extremely generous portions of meat. Along with parsnips, roasties, again cooked to perfection, crispy on the outside and fluffy inside, carrots, cauliflower cheese, mashed potato, broccoli, stuffing balls and of course, Yorkshire puddings. We enjoyed it so much that we’ve already booked for next week. Perfect

We love Bozza Fodder and the pub has a friendly and cozy vibe. We continue to order takeaway even after moving away from Boroughbridge. We regularly order chicken parmesans/parmos and just tried the parmo chicken burger which was great. Chicken burger is good if a chicken parmesan is too big for a meal. Also love their gyros options. Highly recommend visiting here!

Great pub, well done out inside, friendly staff. Food excellent (we had parmos) and portions were enormous. Proper homemade chips and the garlic sauce is excellent. Beer on tap is great, not had a bad pint from there. This place represents excellent value for money.

My family and I visited the Fox & Hounds for the first time on Tuesday (10 of us) and each and every one of us said we cant wait to come back.. The food was AMAZING!! Huge portions, great quality, and reasonably priced. The atmosphere was chilled, the service was quick. Staff were lovely (both at the bar & the waitress who served us the food) We will be back very soon..Thank you!

We called on spec for a Sunday carvery. They very quickly sorted a table for us. Staff were very attentive, explained the system, brought us our drinks and then the experience began. There was a choice of 4 joints to choose from as much or as little as wanted and the meat was to die for. It just melted in your mouth. The veg was gorgeous with a choice of 5 different ones and 2 types of potatoes. Lots of different sauces (apple was another level) and lashings of gravy. A really pleasant and friendly, warm atmosphere and somewhere I would highly recommend you try. I’m sure you won’t be disappointed. Jill Green

What an absolute great Sunday! 👍 We do live around the corner and use the pub on a regular basis for family-friendly drinks.. but we have never had the Sunday carvery that is the talk of the town ! From booking the table to eating our food, the service was impeccable. All were fantastic in getting our drinks, getting table ready, and just generally looking after us as a whole.. and the lovely Michelle who was doing the carvery was extremely engaging with ourselves and children , helpful and polite! The choice is really unbelievable, 3 meats and a vegetarian Wellington... plus lots of veggies ( carrots , peas. Leeks , cabbage ) plus the Cauliflower cheese and gravy and sauce selection! The right sized Yorkshire puddings ! * not soggy, not too, Crispy ** The beef was pink and like a dream! Pork was meaty, and crackling was heaven ! Gammon, juicy and delightful! Wine! Well, it's a good.pinot ! Good Guinness, cold as it should be !! I've no photos of food as it was so good and tasty The price is unbelievable! And no washing up! And to end the evening, live acoustic music from ‘2 for 2’ 🎶 who were fantastic!!!

One of the best Sunday lunch carveries I've had. 3 meats, fresh veg, roast and mash, yorkies, all hot and cooked to perfection. Gravy and an array of accoutrements on the side. 2 sizes 1 course £14.95 2 cources 18.95 Smaller 1 course for smaller eaters £9.95 Puddings to die for an astonishing £4.95 Great service and lovely staff. Moved to the area last Christmas and the Fox has become a favourite village pub. Normally just drinks but Friday we had a pizza take out and today, superb carvery. Really friendly team and we have been made to feel welcome. The food was superb. Our second lunch visit. (I’m the cook at home so a nice day off). I had turkey and beef with amazing mash. What a lovely selection of vegetables! 3 mains, drinks including tip £60. Followed by an afternoon on the sofa. That’s how we do Sundays. Keep up the great work 🥳🍺

Lovely little pub in a quiet neighbourhood. Staff are extremely pleasant and the pub has a great atmosphere. Prices are good as well. The Sunday roast is superb and the home made apple sauce we had today was superb. We love the Fox & Hound

Fantastic carvery for 14 of us the chef was very accomodating giving us a bit of either meet plenty of fresh veg. Really enjoyed the food. Staff are also very pleasant.

Great beer, gteat staff, nice atmosphere apart from rowdy corner dwellers on a Wednesday night who ruin the pub quiz with poor knowledge and lack of dignity when losing over and over to teams who don't Google answers.

Absolutely love the Sunday carvery here! Great home cooked food with plenty of choice of meat that is always cooked to perfection by friendly Michelle. A perfect Sunday spot to eat with friends and family that is good value, cosy and an all round great experience!

Booked for Sunday carvery and for once I did not have to worry about being coeliac. Everything was gluten free..... from the Yorkshire puddings to the gravy. The meat choices are good, lots of fresh vegetables. Even the apple sauce is homemade 😋. If you ever happen to be in Boroughbridge please book. Good food, good wine and good service too.

Great find. Went recently for Sunday lunch which I have to say was the best we have had in a long time. Cauliflower cheese included in the price, (a lot of places charge extra for this) so bonus. The gravey was lush. Beautiful pink beef. Staff really friendly and welcoming. Definable going to be our regular as reasonably priced aswell.

Lovely atmosphere in the pub. Not far from the River Ure so a nice setting after a walk there. Very nicely cooked selection of roast lunch. Great to see veggies and gluten free options also available for some in our party. Really nicely cooked veg, crisp roast potatoes and lovely cauliflower cheese. It is a lovely carvery and there are puds too for a small extra charge (2 course very reasonable for the high quality). Much enjoyed and can recommend.

Had a perfect carvery! Have eaten Sunday lunch in fancy London restaurants and classy southern gastro pubs and the quality of everything at the carvery outclassed all of the above, beautifully cooked perfectly pink roast beef, delicious gravy, everything was a level above and made with love and a passion for great food. Can't recommend enough!

Gorgeous Sunday lunch. Service with a smile. All the staff are friendly, and cater to all dietary needs. Lovely family pub for any occasion. Children and dogs also welcome, which is also a bonus. There is an outdoor games area too, to keeo the children entertained whilst you enjoy a drink also. Would recommend this pub to all. You won't be disappointed.

Whilst having a weekend break in the area we visited late Saturday afternoon on a lovely sunny day. Pleased to find that the pub has real ale options which we found to be in good condition,having tried a couple each. Having looked at the menu we decided to have something to eat whilst we were there. Apparently on any day other than a Sunday the food is not provided by the licensee but by a business known as Bonser Fodder on the premises. My wife and I both had specialist home made burgers and fries which we both agreed were excellent. This is praise indeed from her as she usually is not bothered about burgers. Large portion, very tasty and served up by two very pleasant ladies. Well worth a return visit.

This place is excellent. When you imagine the classic british village pub, this is what you conjure up in your head. The place itself is an old building with the feel of a traditional coaching inn. The beams are low (Although spoilt by modern safety regulations such as fire doors etc), the gangways are narrow and the bar is cosy. I do like the staff: They are friendly, fast, polite, efficient and engaging if that's what you want. The weekday food is nothing special, although very filling and worth the price, however the Sunday lunch is amazing for the price they charge. Full choice of different roasts (Beef, pork, gammon and turkey normally) and the range of vegetables and add-ons is comprehensive. I know the meat is prepared elsewhere (Down the road in their other pub) but everything has that homemade feel about it. My wife tells me the desserts are fantastic, although I'm always too full to manage one. In my opinion, if you are in this neck of the woods, you should definitely give the Fox a try.

My wife & I called in on the off chance for Sunday lunch. They were very welcoming, found us a table and the food was stunning ! For £13.95 we got 4 meat choices (all beautifully cooked) and plenty and varied trimmings ! My wife is dairy & egg intolerant and they provided her with her own gravy and vegetables with no fuss or consulting allergy charts. A thoroughly enjoyable experience.

After a good walk around Ripon canal and newby hall estate we felt we had earned a good Sunday lunch. I had fox and hounds in mind as it serves a good pint of copper dragon golden pippin. I was even more impressed with their Sunday carvery. We plumped for 3 courses. Creamy garlic mushrooms to tackle the initial hunger. We were then treated to a choice of roast pork, gammon, beef and chicken. I chose roast pork for the crackling and the flavour. I would have gone for the beef as it was cooked pink and looked juicy and tender with a good bark. Cooked “low and slow” according to chef. The array of freshly cooked vegetables was more than enough for anyone and NOT sat under a heat lamp until dry and frazzled. Roast parsnips, carrots, peas, cauliflower cheese, spring cabbage, roast potatoes, stuffing balls and lashings of gravy. It was more than enough and neither of us were left feeling we needed more. But of course we found room for treacle sponge with custard and my friend had jam roly poly. We left having paid £26 for 3 courses and a pint of beer. On the toppy side but didn’t eat anything else all day and flopped into bed with a smile on my face after enjoying a great meal and beer. Staff were friendly, polite, courteous and efficient. My first Sunday pub carvery in 3 years. Thoroughly recommend.

I've never bothered with a 'local' before, but we've just moved to the area and we're both really enjoying the Fox and Hounds, we've brought friends and family for drinks and food, and the takeaway that is based here (bozza fodder) is unbelievably good value. Staff are all great too, especially Jack, and it's properly dog friendly with waterbowls/ a snack bucket for them. The Sunday roast was great too, with the tiny issue that the vegetarian option came out about 10 minutes late, but that can be overlooked as a one off I'm sure. Will be spending many evenings here, I'm sure.

quite dissapointed. We looked online and it said home made food, we saw photos for prawn cocktails etc, and whenn we arrived all that was on offer was take away pizza and burgers. It wasn't what we saw online or on other reviews. It was a bit... strange. We left after 10 minutes and realising there wasnt any food.

Had a walk up to this very nice pub a few weeks ago, it was lovely sat outside on a red hot day, good beer and a lovely beer garden, only reason I gave it 3 stars was the miserable barman who made my Mrs a g&t and put 2 pieces of ice in it he then had a bit of a twist and then threw his ice tongs when we asked for a little bit more ice,any decent barperson know you need ice in a gin

My partner and i came here yesterday evening as we haven't found anywhere decent to eat local unfortunately... when we arrived we was greeted with the bar man called paddy who took our drinks orders he very polite and welcoming .... we then sat in the cosy corner through the bar .. asked for a menu for food... to then be greated by The chef to take our food order.. it was nice that he came out and asked what we would like to eat witch you don't normally get in places that kind if service and suggested some food for us to try called a parmo and a tikka curry wrap omg in all honesty we wasn't disappointed at all with what we got !! The food was absolutely amazing the size was huge !! The quality and flavours were spot on and the price was so worth the money too !! The chef then came out to check how the food was in witch I can say I was very impressed to see this type of service 👌 🙌 we will definitely be coming back again to your pub. Thank you for making our experience worth while and so glad we found you We Highly recommended coming here.
