The best restaurants in Sowerby Hambleton Yorkshire and The Humber

Definitely one of the best fish and chips shop I have ever been (I moved to Thirsk from Grimsby). Chips are always perfectly cooked, crispy and not greasy. The whole fish is lightly battered, fully, so no part of the fish get burnt and become too dried, fish meat is shiny, moist and can be easily pushed apart into flakes by a fork which tell me it's surely fresh. I was spoiled some great great fish and chips in my old town, and the Land and Sea is definitely up there with the best. 👍👍👍

Just finished eating my “Italiano” bagel (salami, mozzarella and balsamic). It was seriously fresh and tasty. Reasonably priced too for what is quality food.

We came to view items for the up coming auction to be held in the next few days. We decided to have lunch here and so glad we did. The food all looked good and it was hard to make a decision. 3 had the steak pie and I had quiche with chips. The food was lovely and portions generous. We all had a mug of tea and 2 slices of lemon meringue pie. Total bill £34.00. We all thought it was great value for money. The staff are so friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend and will visit again.

We visited when in the area with friends. Christmas stock reduced as well as some spring bulbs. Work going on to improve the outside area. Spring stock coming in. Plenty of gifts and cards on display. We didn’t use the cafe as had already had lunch. Quick service at the checkout. Plenty of car parking.
