McDonald's in Hambleton

It's a McDonald's, stopped here whilst charging my car, bit awkward to get to from the charging station. I don't often visit McDonald's, chip are way to salty, not even sure if they are potato. The spicy chicken burger was quite nice but the bun is very sweet. Not my favourite take away, although the speed of the service was excellent.

Got to be the slowest McDonald’s in the country, waited over 15mins for food and the place wasn’t even busy.

Service is glacially slow. Waited 20 minutes for 2 mcflurries and then told the machine is broken. Can't give 0 stars

Good luck getting service waiting in the drive though for 10 minutes then walked into the restaurant it self couldn't find anyone not what u want when u just finished work at this time

I've been here twice both times the service was really really slow. The first time we were the only people ordering and there were no to go orders. It took almost half an hour. The second time there was one order and it took the same amount of time. There were no paper cups for sauce and it took ages for someone to come over to ask them for some. I sat down and realised I had the wrong drink which wasn't full. Went and again took ages for someone to come over to ask for a new one and then there was hair in the fries.

Has got alot better and quicker for service.

Worst McDonalds ever. Excruciatingly slow service and rude staff. This is a copy of the letter I have sent to the manager and CEO today. I’d like to rely my experience at McDonalds Oakfield Truck Park today. I use McDonalds about once a fortnight, but it was the first time I’d visited this one. I arrived at the Drive Thru circa 1.55. There was a 5 minute wait to take my order, followed by a further 5 minutes wait to pay. I only ordered a Big Mac and large fries. No drink, no extras. There are 2 collection windows, and as I’d seen someone in front of me get their order from the second window, I drove forward when it was my turn and waited. After a further 5 minute wait, I asked a member of staff taking an order to a car where my order was. She said she didn’t know because she wasn’t working on Drive Thru. After the three cars behind me collected their orders from the first window and drove around me, I got out of the car, stuck my head in the window of the first collection point and shouted “Excuse me” 3 times. Eventually a girl appeared (young, slim, dark hair tied back, long thin face, sullen expression) and I asked her where my order was and she said “I thought you’d driven off”. I said, no, I’d been waiting patiently at the window to collect my order. She picked up my bag and handed it to me, and I said calmly, this is the worst McDonalds I’ve ever used, to which she shouted “then don’t come back again” and stuck 2 fingers up at me. Had I not already been late for my next appointment due to the excessive wait, I’d have gone in and reported her to the manager there and then. I’m sure you’ll be able to identify her from the description, and working the Drive Thru shift lunchtime 17th October, and I’d expect you to take appropriate action. She was right about one thing – I won’t be going there again. Appallingly slow service and unnecessarily rude – and of course my food was cold from sitting on the side.

Poor leadership, under resourced with poorly motivated staff, almost always unable to cope with demand. Hardly anything works. Shoddily presented food in scruffy surroundings. Excellent location so would be a great place if well run, A disgrace to the brand. I cannot believe it keeps the McDonald's franchise.

What on earth happened here?? My first visit and I felt like I was at a DIY trade counter - no screens or order process monitors. My order took 20 minutes - talk about fast food. Food was usual McDonald quality - which is never great.

Food comes out either cold or 3-5 working days after ordering. The drinks never get filled to the top of the cup. To complain about anything you'd have to wait an hour and a half for someone to walk past the counter. Ridiculous won't be going back as this happened to many times

Take up to half hour for caramel frappe. Staff doesn't understand anything

Call on regular occasions, service very slow, cash only some mornings, next visit card only, another morning no hot drinks.

Overall it is rather disgusting the floor looked like it had not been cleaned in weeks, the tables were messy and also uncleaned

I come to this branch from time to time purely for convenience as I live locally. I am yet to have a positive experience due to disgusting levels of cleanliness, ridiculously long waits, poorly prepared food etc. I walked in this morning and there was no exception! 4 of the tables were covered in food and used trays etc with one other person in the restaurant. There is ketchup smeared on the tables and floor and my daughter put her hand straight in a puddle of ketchup on another table. Never seems to be any staff, never seems to be organised and always appears to be filthy. After another lengthy wait, I went to the front and waited for someone to come into view to ask for a Refund. The young lad was very pleasant and when I explained that the place is disgusting and service slow he explained “we’re aware and something is being done about it” - I’ve only ever known this place be disgusting so seriously doubt that this is the case. I didn’t get the refund as the food was just about ready when I asked and credit to them, the food was fresh and nice but when the front of house is so disgusting, I have to wonder how good their cleaning practices are behind the scenes! We were there for around half an hour and still nobody came out to clear tables or clean the floor. There is one in Knaresborough which is far better and also one in Northallerton which has the same owners but seems to be ran better. I would avoid this place like the plague.

Normally very good but all toilets were out of order on this visit.

We waited for over 20 minutes after our order went through. There was only one fella in front of us, and the drive-through was not over whelmed. The bacon 🥓 sandwich had a decent amount in so points for that. More smiles with the service. I asked for serviettes and was scowled at. Massive carpark, brand new facilities. More customer service.

Probably the worst McDonalds in the country, burn your food, forget what you ask for, might as well just wait for the next services

Speedy as ever ...not.... not even busy

Went for a McDonald's breakfast to get told they have nothing at all aside from a wrap. First she says breakfast finishes at 11am.. it was 10:15am when we went this morning??? So she says okay what do you want. No flatbreads no bacon rolls but they could do a full wrap with bacon and sausage. Asked why they didn't have it they said ovens broke??? Ummm okay but how did you manage an overpriced wrap then??? Also the girl on the drive through couldn't understand me and Vice versa. Worst McDonald's ever. Won't be coming back. P.S. I am ALWAYS nice and respectful to everyone but they didn't care about nice they were absolutely not bothered with any customers.

Bit slow, foods hit and miss but that's mcdonalds anywhere I suppose, you know what you're getting its just whether you get it 😅 but again, maccy Ds for you is what it is.

EDIT: FINALLY after just short of 30 minutes they managed to wake up and sort our order!... Literally everyone waiting are all complaining about how poor the service is, and we didn't even get an apology!... Unbelievably ridiculously slow! There was nobody in when I ordered a Mc muffin and latte at 8am on Saturday morning and 20 minutes later I'm still waiting for it along with a dozen other people! I can't even see any more than one member of staff and he's so slow if he slows anymore hell ve going backwards! How on earth does McDonald's let such appalling service continue!?

Burger was nice. Fries were warm. Been standing a while. Not great.

This is my 3rd visit here when parking up for the night as a driver this particular McDonald is exceptionally when ordering in seems the drive thru gets priority …. Somthings amiss here and they do seem to be short on hands carnt blame the staff to much as u can see there doing there best

Countless times our order has been missing something or cold after waiting a while for it to be made. Always check your bags.

Got an uncooked chicken nugget in with our food. I rang to complain and the staff member I was speaking to was really rude and hung up on me. Shocking service.

Bins overflowing and leaking across the floor. Really slow service. Waited about 20 minutes after ordering, which is ridiculous for fast food. Not enough staff. Limited seating space, so it was awkwardly crowded, made worse by the bin situation. Poor layout.

Always heard bad stuff about the service and quality of the food, but we’ve never had a bad experience until today. To say we went through drive through and the queue wasn’t big at all it took some time. Ordered double cheeseburger and medium banana milkshake. Got home and actually got standard cheeseburger and my banana milkshake for some reason was mixed with chocolate milkshake. It is what it is I suppose. Got one upset girlfriend now.

Many bad reviews for this one buy everything was spot on, quick decent food and friendly attentive staff.

Place was a mess, no clean tables, long wait because of deliveroo and just eat orders beig given priority.

Worst McDonalds I've ever been to. It was late night, barely anyone in, waited upwards of 20 minutes for some fries cooked in old oil and covered in burnt breadcrumbs, and a milkshake that had the consistency of a slush puppy. Avoid.

Don't allways get your order right you must check before you leave

Well it’s our local maccys but O my days what a shower of shi7e 25 mins wait cash only at counter till …. Our food (takeaway) my burger was just chucked together… our other meal cola tbh just went down the sink and this place changes staff at a fast rate than your food can be ready

Went to the drive thru, took about 20 minutes in total for a small order.

Absolutely filthy. For a new building you would think that the staff would have some pride in it. Disgusting toilets, tables full of half eaten food and I'm not even going to mention the floor. We were going to eat in but one look at the state of the place changed our minds.

Popped in for a coffee fast service clean and tidy restaurant

I've only been twice. Both times orders were spectacularly wrong. First time they were only too happy to correct the order, the second they told me to go suck a bag of d"&ks, you paid sucker!

Dirty. Very dirty. Flies everywhere. What died in there to cause so many flies? Food cold and stale. Chips were like bricks. Obviously been hot held for far to long. Gross.

Dirty lamps, staff mixes up meals and forgets about them. You order something to pick up, and they mark that it takes 2 minutes to be delivered, and you have to wait 15 minutes for the dish (because they forgot). Well done McDonald's, we read the opinions. Lamps cleaned. The staff tries harder.

Wish I’d read the reviews before going this morning. Long wait, staff standing around chatting then stale dry cold food. Shocking.

I never put reviews on but McDonald’s Thirsk is really poor, I’ve used them from when they 1st opened and the staff are like badly trained robots , I got the wrong order today and the staff member told me I ordered it , I showed them my bank account to prove it but that still gave me the wrong drink , re-training on how to be polite/professional/show they give a damn required !!!

This is the most uncared for new McDonald's. We went around 8pm and it wasn't that busy, but the inside was messy, tables had not been cleared let alone cleaned. Rubbish bins full and over flowing(that's probably why the tables had trays etc left), no napkins. The poor young staff were just about coping with service. Yes the worst one I've ever been in.

Ordered three coffees, one meal and one extra burger after driving a 5 hour trip. Went into the restaurant and ordered through machine. Looked to be that there was only a few staff on that didn’t seem overly motivated or bothered by the amount of people waiting as more and more people piled in and ordered. One girl who had shirt on (not sure if she was a manager of some form) was talking to a couple of younger boys that she seemed to know even leaving the till and going over to where they were stood in the restaurant to have a chat (and shouting his name across the restaurant). Nearly walked into me and didn’t even acknowledge that she nearly walked straight into me. 15 minutes later my order number disappears from the screen even though I hadn’t collected it, a few more orders were shouted out which were orders placed after mine so I went up to the counter and said order 51 hasn’t been called out, the woman behind the counter did not say a word just took my receipt off me and walked off and started doing my order. Came back and gave me my order with no apology or smile so I actually ended up waiting half an hour. When I asked for my receipt back I was told that it had been binned so I couldn’t even complain about the experience. Food Luke warm & shocking service with staff not motivated at all!

The place was dirty, filthy, nasty......too dirty to clean their act up, even Christina Aguilera wouldn't eat here!

The burgers were overcooked and cold. The sauce machines were empty, and there was no barbecue sauce behind the counter. The place was a mess. But admittedly, very busy.

I ordered 4 cheeseburgers, and all were cooked wrong, chees were under the cutlets.

It’s like a normal McDonalds but much much slower and to be honest much grubbier. The drive through lane looks like it’s never been cleaned since they opened. Spilled drinks, old napkins etc. very poor.

25 minute wait for a happy meal. Over done fries and parts of the order missing.

Worked at a 24 hour maccies myself so I never complain. But a 25 minute wait for 2 cokes whilst the place only had one table, empty drive-through and plenty of staff, is a joke. and I understand order slips go missing but we went up and asked and employee only to get nothing but a blank stare and the employee walking away. Needs sorting.

This was not a good McDonalds. Long wait for food, fries were over done, tables filthy & bins overflowing.

Extreme slow service, 34 minutes to get a breakfast order. No management to be seen, in fact you could see them in the back almost hiding. No apologies for late food, Many orders coming out wrong and just as slow as mine.

I find it really hard to understand how you can have a consistently bad Maccy Ds, sure you can get a poor member of staff who gets an order wrong but everytime I come here something is missing from the order or I get the wrong drink or it takes ages to arrive. I work nearby and often work late or into the early hours so Maccy Ds is the only option for a meal. Hopefully someone at the restaurant will read all these comments and try and do something about the service

Service was terrible during our visit. Half of what we ordered was not provided at first until we challenged a member of staff. Ordered a carton of milk, no milk at first, I pointed it on on the receipt the guy took it away and came back with one of those little milk packets. Order jam with porridge, no jam so had to ask for that too. Plus a few other things. Took almost 30 mins to get food, not a lot of customers just barely any staff and those there were in no hurry to service.

*Thirsk truck stop*** Worst McDonald's I've had. Not sure why they can't it right but it seems they just can't. Long wait after ordering, took it home to find I'd been given completely wrong burger. That along with the chips seemed rubbery as it warmed up. Never had dry chewy fries before. Next time I'll skip the local one and travel.

Drive through is so slow, they give my order to the car infront, they passed it back, waited for their food then when it was my turn give the food to me which had been opened and the milkshake that was given back by the car infront, I asked the lady is this the same food you give to the car infront, she lied and said no (African lass) then I said I know it is and I can look at the dash camera to which she said sorry yes it is but it will be OK!!! Tried the place a few times now and it's been pants. Don't expect anything more than something warm or wet to fill a hole but ....... maybe buy a bag of crisps instead, atleast you know what your getting as this place is a joke !

Good for Thirsk Serving a little chaotic but got there in the end. It was quite busy. Positive and enjoyable experience.

Visited today 24th May best mcdonalds we have eaten in for a long time quick service food was hot and well presented which is unusual for any mcdonalds friendly efficient staff only fault was we don't like the new modern system find it very impersonal would visit again

Just what the doctor ordered a late night Maccy D stop. Order took a while to come but at least it was all hot and fresh as a result which is important. Can't help but feel that they need to add a chicken/beef Big Mac option rather than the chicken or beef Big Mac.

Remember the time when it was called fast food? Well, not any more. This McDonald’s is officially the slowest. In fact, they are so slow that they’re going backwards. Drive-through: after waiting an age, don’t be too hasty speeding off, because you can be certain your order isn’t right or there is something missing. Don’t bother turning up at midnight, because McDonald’s have programmed software updates from midnight for 30 minutes or so.

Your average McDonalds, as with any other store. Food is great, staff are friendly. If you aren’t a fan of the occasional waiting times then avoid all fast-food chains at dinnertime…have a takeaway!

The lady with the pink hair was great, she helped us with our order and made sure everything was correct - everything was very clean and it is clear she takes pride in her work. Thank you!

As always they managed to get the order wrong. After a long wait for a basic meal(crispy bacon wrap of the day) I ended up with a chicken mayo with bacon. Annoyingly I didn’t discover this until I got home, I was half tempted to take it to Northallerton for them to fix but they’re equally as useless, and probably would of replaced it with a mc flurry or something as stupid. How are both these stores so incompetent? Like seriously the only thing you consistently do is take forever to make the food and then it’s wrong😂

Very hit and miss with food orders. Rubbish outside the location and full bins. You usually either end up with bits missing off your order or the drinks watery. Also fries tossed in the bag at odd angles so they go everywhere. Lots of scrotey kids hang out there.

The muffin was burned after I waited 15minutes, the second one was also burned. They take forever to serve you, the service is absolutely shocking. Orders always wrong! I won’t ever go back there. Food always tasted weird!

Gets 5 stars because it delivers exactly what you would expect. Nothing outstanding but nothing wrong either. Huge plus for me is the charging hub adjacent which is brilliant!

Been here several times, each time hoping for an improvement from the last visit.. unbelievable long wait for basic orders, staff seem like they don't want to know your there or talk.. food constantly cold when served and the icing on the cake for me was the staffs lack of ability to be able to count just 6 chicken nuggets... still got it wrong. For me, as a truck driver, I don't plan to head back to this place in a hurry !

Service was terrible 2 children's meals ordered only 1 brought, when the 2nd was brought there was no drink with it and no fruit, when fruit was brought it was out of date pineapple, they eventually found 2 mixed fruit bags, staff was polite but not much use apart from the lady who was emptying the bins who sorted it all out for us.
