Myself and hubby had evening meal recently. Service ok and friendly but some of the food could’ve been better. My starter was a chick pea dish which was stone cold but not sure if it was meant to be as had yoghurt in it! Main which was Korai was ok as was the garlic nan. Hubby’s Balti was also ok. We chose to have a dessert. Hubby had ice cream and I chose ‘hot’ fudge cake and asked if I could have vanilla ice cream as I like the contrast of hot and cold. I was told if I wanted anything with the cake it was a £1 extra, something I’ve never experienced as always comes with cream, custard, ice cream as standard. When it arrived, the cake was stone cold so not nice. The whole experience wasn’t the best, we were the only ones eating until a small group came in when we were in our dessert. Not a place we will return to I’m afraid.

We always visit The Cross Keys whenever we have the opportunity. Being a keen cook myself, I really appreciate that they cook everything so beautifully here. Also I love the fact they always have fresh fish specials available . This time I had the sea bream with veg Thai curry… absolutely scrumptious. My starter was lamb kofta with flat bread - both literally melted in the mouth and were delicious. My husband opted for the Aberdeen Angus burger which was exceptional quality. We love coming here as not only is the food delicious, the service is always lovely. We love the relaxing, cosy, home from home atmosphere. We shall keep on returning!

Made a last minute booking for mothers day and the staff were really accommodating and managed to squeeze us in the bar area. I have to say the beef roast was superb, I was very pleasantly surprised at the quality and flavour of everything. Lovely local pub atmosphere and all staff were really friendly. I would thoroughly recommend and will be returning for sure. The Sunday menu is great with some nice sounding fish options also if you're not feeling a roast which ill definitely try next time!

We were there for Sunday lunch, our first visit. Service was very slow. Starter was ok, but my main of the roast beef was cold. Other members of the party said there vegetables were also cold but did not complain. My dinner was returned and you could tell it had been put in the microwave.Deserts were ok but nothing to shout about. It was decided we wouldn't be returning.
