Checketts in Wychavon

A great cafe/restaurant. Recently extended, they’ve taken out the in-house butchers so there are lots more seats, but ideally you should book. Having said that each time we’ve been we have been able to get a table. Quite often we just go for a nice coffee and cake but the menu is quite extensive. On our most recent visit I had the breakfast brunch, which was great! My wife had tandoori chicken and chips (I know! She passed on a great breakfast, madness), which she thought was very good. The staff are great. The ambience is very relaxed and friendly. A lovely place to stop for either a coffee or a nice lunch. Definitely worth a visit.

Great little place we found on the way for our weekend break in Hadley. We were made to feel very welcome when looking for a table inside with our little Dachshund dog. Table was cleaned and we were given menu straight away. We chose to share a pizza with some fries as we were eating later so didn't want to fill ourselves up. We ordered the Slow Burner which was amazing, so many flavours going on and very tasty. For a pizza it was delicious and arrived within about 20 minutes of ordering. Treats for our dog too and they made a fuss of her. Definitely a place we will go back to and a perfect find for a saturday unch. We decided we would drive 32 miles again just to visit this place. We paid around £26 for pizza/fries and 2 drinks which I thought was well priced. Thank you for making us so welcome we will be back soon..

Amazing cafe with amazing staff. Beautifully presented and a lovely town. This is what you think a rural cafe in a rural town should be. Their cakes are amazing, and I wholeheartedly recommend them. DOG FRIENDLY 🐕 I can't stress enough how lovely the staff are here.

1st time visiting, with family because it was recommended by friends. 3 of us ordered the porridge which for £9 we expected it to be damn good porridge, we regularly have breakfast at other establishments and pay between £4-£7 for porridge which as been better in quality and more friut.Only one strawberry and 4 blueberries on my breakfast this morning, there was also an order for a sausage and bacon bap and the sausage was good(Cumberland) the bacon had hardly seen the frying pan. We put a review on their Instagram page but was deleted

First time visiting Checketts and was not disappointed! I’ve followed them on Facebook for a while and the post showing the waffles won me over! I’m a massive mushroom fan so went for the Shrooms which did not disappoint. The place was buzzing with people, lovely atmosphere and fabulous staff especially Mia who was very attentive.

Called in on our way home what an absolute find absolutely gorgeous place and Beth was very friendly and made us very welcome even though she was busy will definitely take the time to go back to eat there

I ordered a cappuccino and pain au raisin. Longish wait although not that busy and five staff on. Coffee arrived tepid so drank it. No pastry. Went and asked for pastry and mentioned that l had drunk my coffee already as it had been tepid. No apology and no remedial action of offering another coffee, which, to be honest, is hardly going to break the bank. So, £7 not well-spent. Oh, and l didn't really fancy the pastry either as they are displayed uncovered and a fly had been on it rather a long time.

Visited Ombersley for a change of scenery and whilst waking the dogs we stumbled on this very inviting place which was obviously dog friendly given the watering station nicely provided outside. I opted for the full breakfast which I have to say was one of the best I’ve had of late. The standout for me was the quality of the ingredients - nice bacon, a Cumberland ring, vine tomatoes, and sourdough along with the standard fried egg, beans, mushrooms, and hash brown (I actually meant to see if I could swap the gas browns out but I I’m pleased I didn’t as they were really tasty). My partner opted for poached eggs on sourdough with salmon added - it looked great, we will be back.

went here on a Sunday afternoon, we had sausage & bacon baps & we were offered onions as well for no extra charge, they were very tasty, the decor is really cosy, the toilets are spotless, the staff are exceptional, we will definitely be back

Not even 10 minutes drive from Droitwich, this is a great place for breakfast / brunch. Tasty food, good coffee and lovely setting. Recommend coming here.

Had a lovely brunch here and returned back because it was so good. Food and service were just great. I had the cheddar bagel and an oat flat white and they were just delicious!

If you haven't already been to Checketts at least for breakfast then I suggest you make plans to do so soon. I have eaten here several times now and recently attended a lovely wine tasting evening too, the staff are always super attentive and the food is always really high quality cannot wait to come back for more.

It's a great little cafe/restaurant. However, a new person in charge appears to be attempting economies with food and menu changes. Why spoil something that is working??????

Lovely food , bit pricy but nice as a one off when meeting up with friends. Limited parking

Very poor, slow service. Tried to order at counter, was advised that they would come to table. They didn’t appear busy but after about 20 mins, I went to the counter and asked if someone could take our order. The waitress then obliged. It was a simple order, .1 tea, 1 coffee with cold milk and 1 scone. After further 25 mins or so tea arrived, then coffee but no milk, then a further wait for scone which was on counter.

Arrived and went inside to be ignored . Decided to find a table outside as it was lovely day . Had to go inside to find a menu and was given a vegan menu . Went back inside to find another menu . Sat and waited then ordered a Beef Ciabatta Waitress returned and stated they didn’t have any beef . Decided to have belly pork with loaded fries . Waitress returned and stated they didn’t have any belly pork but did have pulled pork . I decided I would have that . Then I asked if I could have that in Ciabatta . Waitress said she would ask if that was possible but never came back to confirm. The Ciabatta eventually arrived.. There was a complete lack of interest and interaction from the staff including the fact we had to go looking for someone to pay the bill.. Oh and the food was extremely ordinary and expensive for what was provided..

Without a doubt, the finest cafe in the area. Super decor, friendly staff, and great food. Great breakfasts and light meals, cakes are good too.

What a find! I had the Full Checketts and my partner had the Skillet eggs, I must say the food was outstanding and atmosphere was pleasant with a steady flow of customers. Served by Jess who couldn’t do enough for us, she was lovely. We will definitely be returning and would recommend to anyone in the area!

After having a nasty experience the night before in pub accommodation in Gloucestershire, this place has restored our faith in brilliant customer service. Having crossed the 'boarder' in Worcestershire we opened into Checketts for breakfast. We were warmly greeted by a genuine smiling Jess Doyle. Who took great care of us from beginning to end and made our day. The food was sensational (a big thank you to the chef) I had smashed avocado and poached eggs and hubby had vegetarian big breakfast. The portions are generous, I struggled to finish mine! Jess was the star of the show

Just don't bother. As they don't allow bookings, coming here for brunch (or lunch or a coffe) is a waste of time. All tables full of Ombersley 'yummy mummys' and their brood. You won't get a table and staff couldn't care less. They seemingly don't need or want my custom so I won't bother again.

Great setting & atmosphere, staff very friendly, but please don’t have the pancakes!!! I chose the pancakes as I thought for £10 they would be presented in a stack with fruit etc but literally it was 3 cold pancakes thrown on a plate with about 10 blueberries & yogurt very disappointing I’ve had French toast in London which you would expect to pay more for but yet I paid less and the presentation and taste was everything. I would advise having a cooked breakfast as this looks fantastic and good value for money.

I like this place because it provides the food I like and is dog friendly. There is outside seating when the weather is good. Although there is a butchers at the other end of the building vegans and vegetarians are very well catered for, There are good cheese and deli items for sale and all sorts of treats. My partner and I enjoy the vegan mezze platter. My partner who is very keen on his coffee says the coffee he drinks here is excellent. There was no problem with ordering a decaf oat milk latte. I enjoyed my wine from a local vineyard. This place caters well for all tastes. The environment is comfortable and the service efficient. We shall be back because we like it here.

Lovely service and lovely food! So glad we managed to get a table on NYE. Even though it was busy and it looked like the restaurant was full, we didn’t have to wait long for our food. The waitress kept us updated and was really friendly, genuinely seemed to care that we enjoyed it which you don’t get at most places. Bonus points for fresh avocado which is hard to come by in other places we’ve been recently. Will be going again for sure!

Have been recommended to try this place many times but just hadn’t got round to it. We had a large group for a family members birthday breakfast meet up and from the moment we called to reserve to the moment we left the team were fab. Accommodating to accept the reservation and a warm welcome on arrival and thoughtful positioning of the table as they knew we had children with us to make sure we had plenty of space. The restaurant is cosy with a view into the kitchen, which I always appreciate as its shows they are proud of what happens behind the kitchen door as well as infront. The food was lovely, party of 9 so always tricky to get everything out warm and at the same time but they managed it. Everyone really enjoyed the food and atmosphere and will definitely come back. Diabolical service. Really disappointed. 2 visits, both times waited over 20 minutes to be acknowledged. Second time today, again had to find someone to serve us then, no coke, diet or either, and only doing brunch. Needless to say, went to the Kings Arms and got exactly what we wanted.

The worst service EVER!!! Second visit as bad as the first. Staff would rather stand polishing bottles than serve the customers. Twice we waited over half an hour just to be acknowledged, to be told no coke, diet coke or pizza. Gave up and went home.

Visited because I wanted to see what it was like after the refit and have visited The Elms Hotel which is part of the same collection, The Elms is a lovely hotel so had high hopes for this place. Easy to park at the side of the place. It's very quirky inside with different rooms of various sizes off the main room. There's loads of items on the sides of the place, it's not that clear if these are for sale or just for show. Coffee is expensive at £4 and it's not particularly a large cup in comparison to lots of other places. The place was absolutely freezing, it appears that all the money was spent on the refit but they ran out of money for heaters. One strange thing I found was that because it's small little rooms set off the main room, if there's already a table of people in one of the rooms, it makes you feel slightly awkward walking in on them and then to sit on a neighbouring table. It would have been better to have had one large room I think. Didn't eat because I was too cold to stay around any longer. They really need to get the heating fixed, it wasn't a particularly cold day either. Such a shame because it's quirky and looks good on the surface but I won't visit again I'm afraid.

I was meeting a friend for breakfast today, and she had recommended Checketts as she is local to Ombersley. I haven’t been to Checketts since it was a Deli, and it has since been changed into a lovely bespoke dining area with lots to look at in the terms of local produce and homeware. The food was delicious, with plenty of choice for veggies/ vegans, and the staff were very informative and friendly. My friend had brought her little dog with her, who was treated to a puppucino. All in all, a very pleasant experience - I shall he returning!

I drive past Checketts everyday on my way to work but have never stopped in before today. With the cold weather I thought I’d grab a hot cup of coffee and a Sausage and bacon bap to take to work with me. The staff were excellent and the actual restaurant was clean and very well presented. Special thanks to Milly for offering me a extra sausage for my dog! I got back to my truck and started eating… I could have wept. Everything about it was amazing even the sauce! For the price, I was very impressed and I can’t wait to go back! Long live Checketts!

Impromptu late lunch here last week after being recommended by my parents who pop in here whenever passing through the village. What a fabulous, quirky place! Food was spot on, I had the chicken Kiev pizza cooked in a real pizza oven! My partner the tandoori skewers and both meals were stunning! The food being served to other tables all looked delicious and can’t wait to go back to try more. Excellent service from cheerful and attentive staff. We found some treats to take home with us and I bought my secret Santa gift! Winner!

Poor service, totally pretentious decor and after the longest wait, the most disgusting excuse for a pizza. I'd recommend you travel up the 449 to a lay bye, far better service/ food, that is unless you're one of the absurdly pretentious idiots who cannot differentiate between quality and frequents such places.

As always, the food is very good and well presented, definitely worth a visit once in a while and dog friendly.

Superb coffee which I really rate for quality and taste. Makes me return for coffee alone. The homemade pizzas are also very nice in great surroundings.

A mixed experience: very good food & non-alcohol drinks, good service, abysmal inside for wheelchair users due to steps, obstructions & lack of turning space, however tables outside suffice in good weather!

Wow what a place! Haven't been since before lockdown and since then, it's changed hands and had a major makeover! Quirky, cosy and cool, this is a cafe with a difference for sure. Home made bakes, unique homeware and alcohols for sale in addition to great coffee and food. The toilets are beautiful and clean, the service is excellent. My dad bought a pork pie from the adjoining butchers to eat in the shop and popped it on a plate with mustard and garnish; that is going the extra mile in my opinion. Lots of tables inside compared to before and also outside. Free parking, and a village shop next door for any essentials. Well done guys!

We travel for 40 minutes to come here just for their food and the atmosphere. Beautiful breakfasts - would highly recommend the chilli avocado and eggs and the iced salted caramel latte. Prices are reasonable for the beautiful little town. Always friendly and quick service. Beautiful gifts are available to buy too so it's a nice place to have a wonder round once you've eaten. We love it here.

We all make mistakes, its what you do when it’s pointed out. One of our party had a grey hair embedded in her meal. When pointed out, no remedy was offered. Will not return.
