Stopped for food and drinks this visit to Pershore. Sat inside the pub was quiet, but it was just after 12 on a Wednesday. The HPA on-hand pump was excellent, and we both had scampi, which was also excellent. Again, service was top-notch.

Awful location for a room. The pub itself was quiet in the late evening but at 0500 in the morning extremely noisy both mornings. Room was ok but certainly not deluxe as described. There were no hooks in the bathroom, no cabinet, table or shelf to put your towel and toiletries. The 1 hand towel holder was broken along with a bedside light. Hugely disappointed, over priced. Avoid if you think its going to be a quiet spot.

My Husband & I are new to the area and were looking for somewhere to have some food on a Sunday. We came across this little Gem. Every table was reserved, but as it was only 12.30pm thet said we could have the table for a couple of hours. The young lads that took our order and brought the food were both very pleasant. We both ordered roasts, Pork belly and chicken leg roasts. Plus extra side of Cauliflower cheese. (Proper cheese sauce, homemade? Food was delicious, really well made, chef did a great job. The only thing that would have made it perfect would have been an extra jug of gravy. The service wasn't the fastest but we weren't in a rush and it was nice to know everything was being cooked to order. Advice for anyone looking to try... I would book first... really worth it.

What a lovely riverside pub in the heart of Pershore. I enjoyed a freshly drawn pint of IPA with a proper chicken fillet burger, that was really tasty. The staff were very pleasant and even brought our drinks and food out to our table in the riverside garden. Great, relaxing as we watched the boats passing through Pershore lock.

Played a gig here as part of the Lisa Voleta band, on the decking in the wonderful riverside beer garden at this venue in Pershore. The staff and crowd were amazing, and the beautiful surroundings (and weather!) also helped immeasurably. The lack of full fat coke at the main bar was quite frankly astounding, and other people I was with noted a limited choice of beverages. However, this didn't stop the evening being a massive success.

Been a couple of times now, tried the Sunday lunch and waited far too long to have our order taken and even had to ask for it to be taken; then the food took a great deal of time to arrive and got told they had issues in the kitchen, however, the roast was quite nice! After some time, I thought I’d try again for the brunch, service was very slow again and food quality was ok but nothing special. Great potential but falling short on the delivery and service given, not sure I would go back now after my experiences on both occasions.

Went to Pershore for a 90th birthday. Needed a bed and found the Star. Staff, fabulous, helpful. Room nice, bed, what you paid for. Room nice size. Loads of coffee and condiments. Shower in room. Lovely message on how to get in. What I wish I had known beforehand why only a 4star. The rooms are above a pub, so you can hear patrons talking, live music and lights on outside. Blackout curtains, but gaps. Old building, so even thou shower no water pressure or very little. We booked in early, around 39 minutes which cost us an extra £10, which needed to be paid in cash at the bar. Typically who carries cash much these days. Would I go back, yes, but knowing what I am in for.

Our family of five and our little dog arrived at the Star Inn from our canal boat trip, wet, tired, and starving. We’d heard great things, but when we walked in to the sound of live music and were told the kitchen had just closed, I think the look on my face said it all. The lovely lady who greeted us saw our desperation and quickly went to see what she could do. She returned with a big smile, saying they could still do burgers and fish and chips. Lifesaver! The food was fantastic, (even little dog biscuits) but the friendly service was even better. The staff and owner truly are stars, just like the pub’s name! Everyone seemed to genuinely enjoy their work, which made us feel even more welcome. Even if they hadn’t been able to serve us, I would’ve been impressed by their hospitality. Highly recommend and will definitely be back!

I was pretty disappointed with the brunch club at the star. Firstly it was £2.50 for tea so I expected a nice pot of a good quality tea. Instead I was served an ordinary Yorkshire tea bag in a half filled glass mug which tasted stewed as the water was not very hot. They did replace with a full mug at least. Then I ordered the halloumi loaded eggs which were disappointing. I couldn’t see the avo and the whole plate looked incredibly beige with tiny pieces of halloumi and a piece of toast on the side . With so many gorgeous brunch places nearby I won’t be coming again. I shall stick with Toast in Flyford or the Twisted Spoon

I arrived on a Tuesday so the kitchen wasn't working so can't share that part . On arrival the stairway and passage to the rooms is painted very dark . So a little off putting , however the room was very nice . Quite spacious you have somewhere to hang your clothes albeit only 3 hangers . There are also drawers available. The Ensuite bathroom was very nice , looks like the rooms have recently been refreshed . The bed was very comfortable, my only critism was the pillows , they are flat and are desperately in need of being renewed . That led to not sleeping well Plenty of Tea coffee etc which is also refreshing .. .Overall stay was OK and communication prior to arrival was very good

Does the Star want to stop customers from returning by charging £60 to park your car??? I called in for a drink and sat outside, parking in what I presumed to be their CAR PARK FOR CUSTOMERS only to receive a parking fine for £60 from Smart parking a few weeks later. We were not asked by staff if we were aware of their parking restrictions. I feel it was underhanded way of making money from unsuspecting customers. Needless to say I shall never return to this pub!

Mixed experience!! We had looked on the website and checked the menus because I am gluten free. We thought they looked great. When we arrived and had bought our drinks (no fresh orange available) they brought only a light snack menu with very few gluten free options on. We asked about the dinner menu and we were told it wasn't available. Eventually we chose sandwiches and chips. The food we got was very good and we really enjoyed it, but it was far from the meal we went for. The website said the fish and chips were gluten free but they weren't listed as gluten free on the menu we got. The dinner menu on the website said it was available from 5pm but we couldn't have. So beware of what you see and the website and owners PLEASE update your menus, times and prices on your website.

My wife and I visited the Starr Inn after reading reviews and it being recommended to us. We were in the Cotswolds for a week's holiday. We asked what the soup was and were advised Cream of Vegetable or Tomato, we both ordered Cream of Vegetable. When the soup arrived it was a vivid reddish colour and we pointed out that we had ordered Cream of Vegetable, the young man serving us disappeared into the kitchen and returned saying that the chef had said that what we had in front of us was Cream of Vegetable and that because it had Carrots and tomatoes in it that was the reason it was red, We tasted the soup and it was DEFINITELY tomato soup, it was only then that we noticed an empty plate on the table next to us that had the remains of a moss green coloured soup - Cream of Vegetable obviously. This establishment lied to us to cover up their mistake, a decent chef would know that tomatoes are fruit and would not appear in Cream of Vegetable soup. Stay well clear.

We were visiting this new area to us and we decided to stop at this pub in May'23, it was my wife's birthday and we had some drinks. We entered through the narrow front passage and parked in the rear car park. To our surprise and horror, over a month later, we have received a parking charge notice from Smart Parking, demanding payment £60 if paid within 14 days. No one in the pub at the time advised us to do anything to avoid this shocking thing happening. There is an appeal process but 'if unsuccessful' - they decide - a higher charge will be demanded - alternative being the veiled threat of Court action. Most shocking and totally wrong. We went there to have nice drink and this now happens. Be warned, might be best to spend your good money elsewhere.

Wondering down the lovely Pershore high street we decided that the Star Inn looked like our sort of place. A friendly welcome and we were given the last table left that was not reserved. The Sunday lunch menu was fine - unfortunately there was only ONE vegan roast left. We chose the green bean risotto as our second choice. Both meals were excellent and the good wife decided that it was the best vegan roast she has had in a long time - evidence was in the lack of sharing! We decided that the puddings were to be tested as the mains were excelent. They did not disappoint. Chocolate brownie and sticky toffee pudding were lovely.. There was a bit of draft from the door to the garden and moving tables was not a problem for the staff. A young couple were serving us and they were chatty, welcoming and very hospitable. Friendly staff, although it appeared there was only 2 staff working the bar, taking food orders and serving the food/clearing tables, another pair of hands would have been better as there were times the bar was not manned but customers were waiting for drinks. The two staff were rushed off their feet but did a great job. The 3 roast beef and 1 lamb roast dinner were soon polished off. Have just had a lovely 2 course lunch for our 2nd Anniversary. Although tables by river had not been cleared, nice place to sit and relax.

Lunch average and then overcharged £34.95 when bill should have been £22.65, said where we were sat in the window and said what we had (to assist). When I said I think I’ve been overcharged the woman scowled at me and said she would put refund back on my card which i said would be appreciated. Second woman frowned turned to her colleague to say y’know we will be charged quite a bit for that, give the refund in cash to which I replied I would prefer back on card please as this wasn’t my fault! First frowned woman did apologise but with no genuine feeling. Felt really awkward and I was the customer! Dreadful customer service, should really invest in some adequate training. Will not return.

Great service, super food and good selection of drinks. We were a party of 10 and everyone loved their food. Make sure you book.

Lovely farm shop, with a nice selection of produce. There's a meat counter, fruit and vegetables, preserves and a wide selection of condiments, beers, cider and wine, bread, pastries and cakes. The restaurant is clean, with a variety of options, from brunches and snacks to more filling meals. My daughter had a latte and a blondie, which she really enjoyed, while I had the apple and blackberry crumble, which was a bit disappointing. It was a small tart and the pastry tasted quite oily, and left an unpleasant after taste. I think I'd like to try a savoury dish next time. Pleasant atmosphere, although the café was rather cold with constant coming and going. All in all a very nice farm shop.

Stayed overnight in this village pub and very impressed with the food at dinner. Breakfast next morning was plentiful and well cooked. Excellent hosts and comfortable, spotless bedroom. Staff on arrival were polite and extending a warm welcome. Highly recommended.

A great cafe/restaurant. Recently extended, they’ve taken out the in-house butchers so there are lots more seats, but ideally you should book. Having said that each time we’ve been we have been able to get a table. Quite often we just go for a nice coffee and cake but the menu is quite extensive. On our most recent visit I had the breakfast brunch, which was great! My wife had tandoori chicken and chips (I know! She passed on a great breakfast, madness), which she thought was very good. The staff are great. The ambience is very relaxed and friendly. A lovely place to stop for either a coffee or a nice lunch. Definitely worth a visit.
