Food was lovely..staff so friendly .really nice pub..will definitely return..

Lovely food , but I wish they would get some decent low alcohol beer in. E.g. Guinness Zero or Speckled Hen Blue Label. I ask them to get some, every time, and I am always disappointed on my next return visit, to find they haven't

The sandwich and soup here is absolutely unbeatable.

The only thing that lets this pub down is the awkward parking, but it is well worth finding a place on the street as everything else is great 👍

The best roast I’ve had in years. Gorgeous food, perfectly sized and polite staff (although not always around the till when you needed them). It’s not cheap but I won’t soon forget it, we’re already comparing yesterdays roast to this one so I think we have a new benchmark locally.. Definitely will be back!

Meal for 2 came to ~£90 with tip. We had nibbles to start, with Rib Eye and Fillet steaks and a drink each. Lovely little place with attentive staff/service too. Easy to park at the rear just past their beer garden. Hidden little gem!

I travel a lot and spend a great amount of time looking for good places to eat and drink. The most welcoming place to visit. Staff were great, locals embraced me and its a dig friendly pub. Highly rated great value food and drinks.

We had food here the day before our wedding and actually had our wedding meal here too. Both meals were absolutely beautiful, the steak was cooked perfectly. All 3 courses of both days I could not fault, staff were kind and went out their way to make sure everything was perfect for our wedding meal. We had the back room, which was secluded to the rest of the pub, it was quiet and intimate which is exactly what we wanted! They opened the pub early enough for us to dress the room and everything just went to plan effortlessly.

We get fantastic food and brilliant service every time we visit. Andrew is the epitome of a great host.

Looking forward to having to boxing day dinner here. Staff helpful and friendly. Nice place with lots of tables. Jury is still out on the food!...Well it did not disappoint! The food was the best I've had in years. Service was 2nd to none and the atmosphere was lovely. Thank you Cross Keys for making our family Christmas meal so very special!!

Parking could do with improving

Not been for a while but will return. A relaxed atmosphere with good food and service.

Where do I start?! The venue is incredible, very welcoming and very friendly. The staff were helpful and polite with nothing but smiles across the board. The food was well presented, tasted amazing and very filling. You can tell that every member of staff genuinely do care about their job. The table staff were attentive, polite and very approachable. The chef had attention to detail in every way and the manager was friendly and clearly knew some of the regulars on first name terms which is always a welcome bonus. The price was very reasonable indeed, and I would happily come back here again without a moments hesitation. Thank you Cross Keys for a wonderful afternoon. (Now I'm off home for a nap!!!)

Great evening and lovely warm atmosphere. The menu did not make me go wow...I was hoping for a better range...not more just better...but that's a personal view...food was good when it came...service was good

First time back to this wonderful place in a long time and so glad we did. The Cross Keys has the finest Gluten Free menu choice of anywhere I’ve ever been which as a Celiac is essential. Wonderful to see the chef offering something different to the usual pub fare with excellent fish options. Add to this the attentive and friendly service from the waiting staff and you have the perfect venue. Our party of four felt the prices fairly reflect the high quality food and service and would recommend the Cross Keys very highly.

Enjoyed the meal although very expensive. Would go again . Menu a little fancy for me as I don't eat red meat

Lovely cosy pub. Staff friendly and helpful and plenty of choice from the menu. We had swordfish which was excellent, really tasty and nicely presented. We will definitely eat there again and recommend it.

Booked a table for a Saturday lunch for a family get together. There was eleven of us in our party. Table position was fab, doors to the new lovey outside seating area we're open, letting in the lovely sunshine. Service was fantastic, food selection is great, something for everyone. Will definitely be back.

Very attentive staff but food a little disappointing at those prices

An enjoyable meal with friends, no one was disappointed with their meal. The service was friendly and attentive. Personally I was disappointed that the apple crumble had walnuts in the topping as I have an allergy. I had the Eton mess instead and it was very good.

Food overpriced for what you get. Prawn and crayfish cocktail £8 very small dish with a bit of lettuce and literally a spoonful of fish. Koftas bland served with undercooked fries and few bits of salad. Started off well when re opened but now disappointing.

Had Easter Sunday lunch here today. Lots of options to choose from we had one of each of the lamb, beef & pork. All were beautiful, loads of veg & of course Yorkshire Puddings! Great value for money we thought (the apple crumble was the nicest I’ve ever had). The staff could not have been friendlier, and really made a fuss of our dog - he even got a small doggy bag to bring home :-) we will be back next time we are in the area.

Attentive staff, good service and excellent food all freshly cooked. Can't fault it and will be going again.

Lived in the area for 20 years and first time to the cross keys. We had both sharing courses (seafood starter and 16Oz Chateaubriand). Whilst Chateaubriand has moved on over the years from a dish to the serving of the best/ thickest and most delicate cut of fillet, this steak at Cross Keys was one of the best we have had and cooked to perfection (best served rare / medium rare) and subtly and delicately spiced on the outside. It was sooo good we ate most of it without any accompanying sauces. Attentive staff and a good atmosphere. We'll be back

Just come back from a great night at The Cross Keys. A great find. Not been before and was taking my Dad out for a Birthday meal. All four of us were very impressed. Lovely and friendly service and great food. We will definitely be back .

First time ever here where I've been disappointed. Online menu shows battered halloumi but wasn't on and was truly a great dish. All good things come to an end I guess No I think it was a true reflection on how I felt on the day especially a special day for me and the other veg options were disappointing. Not a problem as the others liked it and are returning

We had a family lunch at the Cross Keys and they were brilliant. At the table we had a number of food allergies/ intolerances and the staff and chef understood. All food choices were checked and we had a lovely lunch. The staff at the Cross Keys are really attentive and we would definitely go back

Disappointed. Limited menu (Sunday) Overcooked, very small portion of Salmon. Dressed crab nothing special. Neither of the meals looked attractive . Pleasant staff.

Came here for lunch with my parents and I can’t fault the place. You wouldn’t know from the outside what it’s like inside. The service was great, the beer fresh and well kept. My Mum had the smoked salmon sandwich, my Dad had the pork & leek sausage sandwich and I had the roast beef & horseradish sandwich. All of it was delicious. It’s so nice to go for a pub lunch and to have food options that aren’t burgers. Will definitely be back.

First visit since this pub re opened. Food was excellent and service genuinely good. The staff were interested and motivated. Beers a little limited in choice compared to a few years ago, but HPA always slips down well. Worth a visit.

I had booked to take my 94 year old mum out for Mothers Day. On the confirmation link I was asked to pay a non refundable deposit which i felt uncomfortable with i and didnt do straight away. I have been emailed and phoned chasing this by the management and had rung to do over the phone but that wasnt their policy. I have now had my booking cancelled. What disgusting behaviour for someone in the hospitality trade luckily i have been able to book elsewhere.

Lovely pub the interior décor is great very cosy inside and really good food. Well worth a visit also has a large private dining venue for larger groups. I do think however that coming out of the car park is quite a tricky problem as a mirror is needed on other side of road, very sharp corner corner coming out on a busy road.

The service was good but the size of the sea bass on a Sunday menu a joke it was three mouthfuls of food , in the week it’s sea bass fillets but on a Sunday only one very thin , nothing wrong with the cooking but a ridiculous portion when I complained I was dismissed out of hand , I was very disappointed

I concur with a recent observation put on this review page in that-DONT be put off with the exterior, the import things happen inside, it has definitely been brought back from the brink..the interior is stylish and relaxing, the food and service were excellent, i had pork roast & my partner had Hake...well done Crosskeys...we will be back..

Just been in to the Cross Keys, looked at the outside and the car park l and it looked abit untidy but quite busy. So we went in what a surprise it's very nicely done up inside and clean. We had a very nice welcome and great menu. When the food came it was very nice and good value the staff were really good. I'm sure we'll be back. So don't be put off by the outside I'm sure when they have time and money the outside will be tided .Thanks everyone at The Cross Keys, very impressed 😀

Great evening spent recently at the Cross Keys with the children and friends. The food was amazing and the service was excellent. The pub has had a very stylish update which offers a very pleasant environment. We thoroughly enjoyed and will be back.

Went for lunch to meet old school friend. Excellent service, friendly atmosphere, great food too. A comprehensive drinks menu what could be better. Under new management I believe. We will be back

Rather a small parking area at the back so sometimes you have to park on the roadside. Tasty food (we have had a Christmas dinner) and pleasant and staff.

Lovely welcome, a roaringfire lit just for us. Food good and friendly service. Covid measures in place felt very safe.

9/10/2020 - met a friend for a pint and food, I had a burger, he had steak sandwich and we shared some onion rings. Well we both agreed it was the best pub food we'd had in ages! For a no frills pub its excellent 👌 😀
