Having a bad time, needed to get out of the house and after a good walk we arrived at 4.45. Such a great welcome, friendly and just what we hoped for. Within minutes we were sitting down and choosing our food. The Fish and chips was first class, the friendly and professional service was something we thought was no more in England. We were wrong. Local people were friendly and welcoming, just overall a first class establishment!

Wanted a quiet Sunday midday drink. Felt a little rushed to place drinks order, Barman please allow customers to remove their coats and locate a table in the bar area. Customers then approach the bar. Both drinks perfect ,, poured and served by new staff member. Thank You .. Now relax for a quiet drink .. Well … loudest bar phone ever , constant ringing with bookings , Bar staff loudly poising questions across the room to two customers, these guests certainly liked the sound of their own voices. Cut visit short and departed. Apart from that . Greeted and Wished Good Bye and Thanked, by staff.

Oh fabulous lunch in comfortable surroundings. We visited after the going to the confetti fields. We enjoyed great service and the food Was fresh and fast! My friends had the fish clan’s chips which were generous in size and very fresh. I ordered the koftas which i personally thought a bit expensive in relation to the fish and chips. They were nice but nothing exciting (£20.95) so I did have a bit of food envy. Overall a great pub and lovely food and I would recommend

Very disappointed with the Ploughman's sharing platter for two. We ordered it thinking, ooh platter that sounds lovely. It came on a dinner plate with two small side plates for us to eat off. It consisted of 2 chunks of cheddar, 2 slices of ham, a demi baguette of white bread cut into 8 slices, a small ramikin of pearl onions, butter and a homemade chutney and small salad garnish. At a cost of £17.95 it seemed a very small portion for two people. Hardly a sharing 'platter'. When we asked if there was any chance of a little more lettuce we were told no. I have to say we were taken aback with the flat no from the waitress. To top it all we paid £7.20 for 2 pints of lemonade and lime. We won't be returning!

A traditional pub at the end of the High Street in Pershore, which is a pleasant market town in Worcestershire has a capacity, though, it does not feel big, as the bar and dining areas are in smaller enclaves, which gives a nice quiet feel to the place. The menu is slightly better than the average pub, the service good and quick. The staff pleasant and readily turned down the piped music, which was the only real drawback to the place. Not over posh, but a nice place for a meal or a drink. Good parking facilities, reasonable prices.

I had the steak and ale pie, hubby had the sea bass with the Spanish hash potatoes , and the kids had burgers. All pipping hot and very tasty. Been here before a few times and usually good but today food was awful the festive turkey baps were unappealing unappetising and were barely warm. The pub was also cool all radiators stone cold despite asking if we could have some warmth told abruptly the “heating is on” after 2 hours it definitely wasn’t. Such a shame as the pub itself was nicely decorated and had a potential cosy appeal.

Based on a couple of dinners we enjoyed when on holiday in Pershore, nothing at all wrong with this place. The menu was interesting and tasty, credit to the chef, and the staff were freindly and welcoming even tohugh the pub was far from empty so kept them on their feet. I could moan about changing the name of the pub, but if nothing else the Pickled Plum is memorable. The pub is dog friendly and we were placed in the bar area. No problem with that, but if you have a large dog you would be best booking ahead to ensure you have one of the tables by the bay window which have more space.

We were visiting the local area and were looking for a pub that had a good but reasonably priced menu, a car park and was open on a Monday so thought we would try the Pickled Plum as it has good reviews and we weren’t disappointed. The portions were generous and the food was delicious and everyone in the party had something different but all were satisfied. The staff were very pleasant and friendly. The only negative was that the pub was empty when we arrived as soon as it opened but we were initially put on a table next to the only other occupied table that had a baby and a big pushchair blocking the table so we asked if we could be moved as it is seemed a little silly. Other than that all very good.

The person manning the entrance insisted we wear bands on wrists (plasticised, non-recyclable) which indicated payment of the garden entrance fee which would allow seating in the garden area. Having reserved a table inside, sunny weather tempted us into the garden. No tables were reserved in the garden area. Staff stated they were unable to move an umbrella to provide shade over a table large enough to accommodate the 5 of us. This request was made by 2 very elderly members of the group. We moved to the reserved table inside the tearoom which allowed dogs at tables. Our expectation of a healthy lunch with salads gathered from the wonderful kitchen garden was dashed. Salad leaves came from plastic bags, quiches were supermarket produced and almost nothing locally sourced. Mediocre, bought-in food assembled on site. When asking for water at the table, a glass urn was pointed out to us. “Glasses” were the single use plastic type. 2 of the party, sitting at opposite ends of the table, ordered the same type of tea. One pot between the 2 was provided. When the meals arrived, the waitress stood at the end of the table, announced the contents of the plates and expected to pass them to the person seated next to her for distribution down the table. A second waitress attempted a similar act with the cutlery (wrapped in a serviette) but then did walk around the table and put it in the appropriate place. The attitude of the supervisory staff was high handed. The younger members, although pleasant, were clearly untrained. Although something of a fuss was made about the displaying of the entrance wrist bands if the garden area of the tearoom was to be used, (can only be clearly displayed on a handbag strap or wrist), several customers not displaying bands were seated in the lovely sunny garden. The gardens were simply beautiful.

Early evening meal with 4 friends . We opted for the 2 courses for £10 deal! We tried the 3 options available and each were lovely. Well cooked and presented. Huge choice of dessert - all delicious. Service was friendly and warm - even though as the only person working, she had a lot on her plate! With drinks - it cost £16 per person. The main menu was also good value. A couple of us would have preferred to see a couple of salad option on the menu so that’s what would have made it 5* However absolutely worth a visit.

Now the roast menu is back Sunday lunch was just brilliant! Generous portions of tender roast beef in my case, well prepared vegetables and an excellent Yorkshire pudding with a very tasty gravy. The mixed berry crumble to follow was of the same high standard. The decor may be a bit tired but the food and good value more than make up for that.
