Great little locals pub. The staff and customers were very friendly and the beer was well kept. The garden area at the was lovely to sit outside with a cold beer.

Like the previous reviewer, I too have been charged for an online order that did not go through (since discovering the place has closed!). After waiting for 5 minutes, I realised the order was not going through. I never received a confirmation email either, so assumed that was that. However, I have been charged for the order. This happened last night and I now see the link to the website has been removed from Google. I ask that the owners (old or new) please contact me to arrange a refund.

It's been a very long time since we were last here. Not going this way very often had made me forget all about it until today. Driving past it, reminded me to give it a go and I am really pleased that we did. They have done a great job in refurbishing the room, especially the booth seats and the rather unusual wall paper,. These and a plush carpet makes it a lot smarter than I remember. Indeed it's a lot smarter than most restaurants. Still unlicensed but I noticed some others cheekily taking in their own soft drinks. From opening the door for us as we entered and left, the service was excellent, friendly and attentive without being obtrusive, Kaz and Mo doing a great job. Although very busy nothing was too much trouble. I couldn't fault my food either, the only thing that could have been better would have been the chips but I say that a lot. Despite this my garlic chilli bahar was exceptional and the wife really enjoyed her balti. There was a good atmosphere on the night, very relaxed despite the fact it was full with a few large tables. This would obviously vary from day to day. The unobtrusive music was also appreciated. The bill was very reasonable for what we had, which is softened by being able to take our own alcohol. I also like their clear itemised bills. It won't be very long until we are back. Edit, which we have been and it's pretty much consistent. Given it's popularity, unsurprisingly there will be a bit of a wait on a busy Saturday night but that's not a problem for us.

Always has some sports on, kitchen opens at 1pm, reasonably priced.

Now the port has gone and the island house as taken over the food is absolutely gorgeous, the shop is spotless the staff are very polite, first time in ages I've enjoyed a takeaway but this was spot on .

Really nice food, good service. We have only used the take away service but compared to a lot of their competitors I have found them very competitively priced. We haven't eaten in yet but whenever I have picked up, there is always people in and generally lots of families.

we used to use this take away a lot. the quality has gone down, watery and rubbish meat this time. really disappointed.

Food rank, ordered online, chilli chicken was a mash up of sweet n sour and BBQ,, the vindaloo looked like vomit with chili flakes,, and the Korma was laughable,, consistency like water with 3 piece's of chicken Do Not Order From Here. First and last time

Now called Zahra Spice but name change is only thing noticeably different, having not been here for years. Same excellent food quality, service and atmosphere. Now it's back on our radar I can see this being our regular again. Great to see it full and thriving.

Fantastic flavours, fresh very well cooked food, excellent service. Hidden gem in Tipton. I’ve been raised on Indian cuisine, I’ve eaten in some of the best Indian restaurants in the UK … this is very much worth a visit / takeaway if you value good flavours! £11.95 we paid for popadoms, salad / onion, chutneys, sauces, starter, main & a side. Excellent value for money - Sunday They sell alcoholic beverages. Even if they offer for you to bring own, please don’t unless you need to. Businesses rely on wet sales when they are offering such reasonable prices on food and are paying for alcohol licenses along with all the other business overheads. Let’s support this local good business. If you expect high end decor, you’ll need to pay high end prices elsewhere. I’ll be visiting again.

Awful Pizza, Went here for the 5 star hygiene rating. Roni Roni as they call their double pepperoni comes with 12 minuscule pieces of pepperoni on a 6 slice pizza. HILARIOUS! Ready rolled dough from the refrigerator and what looks like a supermarket pizza with toppings added. Avoid if you like quality pizza.

Absolutely love a night at Bangla cottage. Always a warm , friendly welcome, the food is always consistently good and excellent value. Highly recommend.

fish was fine but chips were cold and there were way to many little hard bits. I have no teeth so couldn't eat them.
