Oh my god! We limit our visits here to ward off obesity and type two diabetes. The bread is fantastic - expensive, yes, but good enough to be the centre of a meal. Also delicious are the brown butter cakes, cinnamon buns and cheesecake. Nice selection of Neals Yard cheeses to go with your loaf

How likely to recommend a friend - I already have to several of them. I remember when this was Francs and always loved going there so even though you are your own restaurant you always have expectations to meet when you take over a building whether that's fair or not it is what it is. From the minute we walked in to the bright open airy space and the smiling faces of the host and waitresses - I could feel we were in for a treat. The service was attentive and slick and it was great sitting by the open window in the summer sunshine as the world passed by below - gazing upwards wondering what delights we were experiencing. And wow what a delight Sunday lunch was - opting to go straight for the main course the Roast Beef was what I can only describe as an absolute feat of colours from the roscoff onion, huge orange carrot and perfectly al dente broccoli to the sumptuous crisp roast potatoes thickly sliced beef and a rich gravy with a deep shine. We also ordered a side of cauliflower cheese which was well worth the additional side as it was more than enough for 2 and wouldn't have fit on the plate anyway if it had come with the meal - all washed down with a fabulous Rioja. Dessert had to be the Creme Brulee with a glass of dessert wine - slightly pricey but as we didn't have a starter then so what. all in all a fabulous experience and one that will definitely make me come back to try the A La Carte Menu

We were visiting Ashburton on a Monday and were surprised to find just about every pub and cafe closed. Luckily The Greedy Bird was open and the food, coffee and service was excellent. It was also reasonably priced and we were lucky to find it.

Fantastic little coffee shop for dog lovers. The dogs are treated like royalty, with a special menu just for them, and lots of things to keep them entertained too. The staff are brilliant, they love dogs and are really friendly too, and the coffee is good too 😀

Spur of the moment to go in as it was raining. Dog friendly, and lunchtime offer of 2 courses for under £15:00 were a further inducement. Menu offered many choices, served with bulgar wheat and chips. Freshly cooked it also had delicious flatbread, warm. Portions were generous without needing extras, and the flavours were delicious, down to the hint of mint in my salad, which also accompanied my lamb kish. Thank you for your warm, attentive service: we’ll be returning.

It’s been ages since I left an TA review and the involvement of AI here turns me off. Nevertheless, felt we had to document this aspect of our first visit to Hereford. This eatery wasn’t on our radar at all for our day out. Now we’ve found it, we will long remember it. Typically we opt for places with no piped in music but exceptions must be made from time to time and on the day there was great jazz playing at a quiet enough volume to that we could hear each other. And a thoroughly inviting atmosphere overall. Sat indoors due to frosty weather. Lovely, welcoming service and a truly delicious meal of soup + focaccia. The golden milk and dessert of plum tart were also quite good. A really special local café. We also value its food hygiene rating (a 5).

A little gem perfect for breakfast! We ordered the all day breakfast & and scrambled egg on toast - both delicious! All freshly made to order. Recommend, would definitely visit again! They also sell a selection of pastry items and cakes to take away.

Love it here and we will keep coming back even though the menu is no longer 100% vegan. Things have changed a lot in the last few weeks: now waiting staff offer cows' milk first before dairy free for example. Despite this they thankfully they still confirm that we want everything we have ordered to be vegan as they can recognise we are ordering vegan dishes, so we aren't worried about mixups. Who knows if the cool vegan sign in the back room will remain? Either way we are glad lots of vegan food is still on offer but it is a more "standard" menu now with lots of meat, dairy and eggs in offer as well. The staff remain friendly and kind during what may be a difficult time off transition and the food quality hasn't declined at all.
