Visited here as heard great things and my son is colieac so we had the choice of gluten free pasta!
We were welcomed with a rude young girl who just said your upstairs , so we took ourselves up there . No menus given or asked about dietary requirements, all very strange.
The atmosphere was awful, felt awkward and unwelcoming with very weird and obnoxious music which my son said made him feel like he's in a 2014 YouTube fails montage .
Great that they have gluten free pasta and pizza bases which is very rare to find . Food overall was mediocre, filled a gap but definitely nothing to rave about,Lacked flavour . !!
Took my girlfriend here for her first visit to Amicis. We both couldn't fault the food or the service, nothing is to much trouble. We will definitely be returning and would gladly recommend this restaurant to anyone
A Birthday Meal to Remember at Miller & Carter, Weston Gateway
We recently celebrated my son's birthday at Miller & Carter in Weston Gateway, and I must say, the experience was nothing short of outstanding. Having had a positive experience previously, my son insisted we return for his special day, and the team did not disappoint.
From the outset, Kayleigh was exceptional. Before our visit, she corresponded with us via email, taking the time to understand our dietary requirements and ensuring everything was tailored to our needs. Her professionalism and attention to detail set the stage for a remarkable dining experience.
The chef at Miller & Carter deserves high praise. Every dish was cooked to perfection, meeting the precise preferences of each family member. My daughter's specific requirements on how her food should be cooked, my son's unique needs for food preparation and presentation, and my preference for not being overwhelmed by too much food were all met with exceptional care. It’s impressive how the kitchen managed to accommodate our varied tastes, a feat I've laboured to perfect at home over many years!
Manager Andy and his team of waitresses were bright, thoughtful, and considerate, enhancing our dining experience with their attentive service. The restaurant was bustling, yet the quality of food and service never wavered, demonstrating the team's competence and dedication.
It’s clear that the staff and management at Miller & Carter take great pride in their work, delivering consistently high standards whether during peak or quieter times. This visit was a testament to their commitment to excellence and genuine passion for customer service.
Thank you, Miller & Carter, for making my son’s birthday meal so special. We are already looking forward to our next visit!
Sadly we had a very rude waiter who spoiled our Mum’s 80th birthday. Food was average but the evening was ruined by this poor customer service. Fortunately there are far better restaurants in town to enjoy.
Fantastic little pub on the dock! Went there with two hungry kids on a quiet February Monday. Korean chicken was fantastic. I even tried the chicken goujons my sons had and it was so tender. Thank again!
Amazing service and delicious food, really appreciate that they accommodated us despite the late hour. Definitely coming back next time we are down this way.
Super expensive (£100 for a bottle of California chardonnay, you probably can buy at Tesco) and not super food - (would you like olive oil poured over your chocolate mousse?) Great location - but unlikely to go again any time soon.
Have been coming here for years with my partners parents, food has always been excellent but sadly when we visited in December the food was terrible and the service slow which was understandable as they were packed, it may have been better to not have so many covers. My scallops were cold and swimming on a bed of peas which were not hot, worst scallops I have ever had, also looking at the reviews i'm not the only one. The chicken was dry and the potatoes were cold and almost inedible. The fish dish was also dry and tasteless, all in all a terrible meal and if it hadn't been for my Mother in Law I would have sent it all back. My partners steak was excellent though and our waiter was lovely. I have since been offered a bottle of Crement when we next visit, won't be taking that offer up!
Booked a two day getaway for R & R through Booking.com. Stayed Saturday and Sunday nights on B&B basis. (1st & 2nd March)
We checked in around 3pm and were taken to the room by friendly staff member. The room was introduced as a "Cabin" style room. At first we thought that it was quite small and very little room to move. Facilities were excellent and very clean and modern. Especially the bathroom. Again small but useable.
Bedroom space was very different, tiny area, hanging space was at a premium. 3 shirts and the space was full. The bed was enclosed in a tight corner with only one access side, so exiting was difficult to say the least. I enquired about a bigger room and the extra cost to do so. I was informed that if someone did not show up I would be informed and the room would be offered. That unfortunately did not happen. I explained that my wife had limited mobility and found it difficult to enter and exit tight spaces but it appeared to fall on deaf ears. A follow up to say sorry no rooms were available might have helped us decide not to stay the second night.
I think maybe it would have been better to book direct with the Hotel and the possibility of discussing room size etc. I thought for the money we paid Booking.com the room would have been more standard size. I get Genius discount with Booking.com so my assumption was completely wrong. We likened the room more to "Rabbit Hutch" more than "Cabin"
For the price we paid I would consider the room expensive and more to be used as single occupancy rather than double.
All other aspects of our stay were lovely, the staff, the public area's, food and drinks were all very good.
The only other worry I have is parking ticket arriving at a later date.
I asked at the time of check in if it was in order to park just up the road in the general Car Park and was told to give my Reg number to reception and that would be ok.
On leaving the Car Park I noticed the "Have you paid an displayed" sign.
We gave our details to a young lady service at the bar and she said she would enter it at reception on our room number (4). I checked later after returning from a walk and found it had not been and was done then but informed there would be a problem because the Car Park was not monitored. I hope that statement was correct!
