We visited here with my brother-in-law and his toddler son. There were lots of toys for him to play with, and the owners were very carefully to make sure he was OK with their lovely farm dog too. They were also very helpful catering for my dietary requirements, cooking me a lovely breakfast with wonderful cherry tomatoes, still on the vine! I do think some people might feel more comfortable with a lunch menu, but others would prefer to pick from the counter. Would recommend the circular walk along the ridge after lunch, and also the pub down the road for a deserved pint, and if you are visiting in Sept/Oct, a tour of the chilli farm tour!

My wife and I were welcomed and hosted royally by David Hawkins, the owner of the Manor Farm Cafe. The traditional Sunday Lunch was well cooked, well presented and an absolute joy to eat. The range of local beers, ciders and wine available is both impressive and very, very palatable. In summary, I heartily recommend the Manor House Cafe and fully intend to return for a repeat the performance of this very satisfying experience in the near future.

As you can see by my title, my boyfriend and I found the glamping experience underwhelming and badly executed. My boyfriend spent a considerable amount of money on this experience and while it was lovely because we were enjoying time together I found the facilities we were expecting and paid for to be poor. By this I mean, we were promised a BBQ which was not provided in fact we had to borrow David's personal one (we will touch on that later), all of the lighting was broken and we had to resort to our torches on our phones. In the pictures the tents looked spacious and luxurious but we were met with a cramped and bare spare to sleep which really lacked the magic we were promised. So after supplying all of our own belongings (bedding etc) we then cleaned up on our last day and went on our merry way, cleaning up and leaving things up to a standard which would be easy to arrange for the next person; however today we receive a message from David himself saying "You left the tent in a mess", which was impossible as nothing but a bed was supplied! To add to this, although David (bless him) on the surface seemed like a cool guy who even let us use his BBQ it has transpired that this is nothing more than a feeble attempt to boost his ratings and endorsements as he practically begged us for a good rating. Now I work in customer service and I know what this looks like and David, you have no clue. You were rude, obnoxious and unwelcoming and I feel that you left my boyfriend feeling underwhelmed and ripped off and no one wants to feel like that. In my opinion if you are wanting to experience camping, go somewhere where David isn't as you will have a much better and probably cheaper stay!

That's the favourite expression of David, the genial farmer who runs this site in as relaxed and friendly a way as you can imagine. My two sons - one adult, one six - came for a spot of beginner's camping, with our rented campervan. This is a working farm, and feels like it, but visitors just fit in around it. The setting is wonderfuly rusticl. The camping field is on a slight slope but not enough to bother us. And if you want to be perfectly horizontal, there's a range of yurt-style tents and wigwams you can hire. Breakfast ... a truly farmhouse affair, fresh and tasty ingredients to set you up for the day. Help yourself to a cafetière or tea. The shop has a range of local produce, from breads to pickles. This was my little boy's first experience of camping and it couldn't have been better. And what's more, he overcame his fear of dogs by throwing sticks for Ruby, the resident collie. Sometimes, she'd even fetch them. All in all, as idyllic a campsite as it's possible to get - and all at affordable.

We had an excellent stay here thanks to the amazing setting, facilities and people at Manor Farm. David made us feel so welcome and provided everything we could have thought of (and a few things that we didn't!) We stayed over the bank holiday in the fab bell tents. Definitely recommend a stay and a visit to the shop. Excellent breakfasts, meat provided for the BBQ and recommendations for things to do. Thank you so much, will be returning.

Just returned from a hen weekend at Manor Farm and have been moved to write my first review on trip advisor. All the staff/family we encountered could not have been friendlier or more accommodating. The breakfasts at the cafe were excellent as was the produce in the farm shop. It's a beautiful part of the world, but I would return just to have a chat with the lovely people behind it all.

We had a thoroughly lovely two nights camping trip here. The owners were very welcoming and helpful: the farm is in a truly idyllic spot and watching the farm animals kept our two girls entertained. We stayed in the camping field and were lucky enough to be the only ones there this weekend, meaning the girls could run free and spend hours throwing balls for Ruby the well behaved farm dog! The farm produce was tasty and the onsite butchery very handy for bbq's! We didn't eat in the café as we ran out of time but all the food looked delicious. The two toilets and showers were basic but clean and the atmosphere of a busy working farm added to the experience. We will be returning as the peace and tranquillity of this place is heavenly!

This is my first TripAdvisor review as I felt compelled to write it after visiting Manor Farm for a wedding earlier this year. It's a nice site set in a lovely part of England which was perfect to celebrate a wedding reception. However, the enjoyable day we'd had was spoilt by David the owner's rude and arrogant attitude. Some of the party had pitched tents to stay on the site when the festivities finished. On returning to the camp site, David the owner made sure to spell it out to us that he wouldn't tolerate any noise and that he'd be very annoyed if he had any complaints. Bearing in mind that we weren't being loud on returning to the campsite where there was only two other tents which weren't part of the wedding, this seemed unfair and very harsh. Nice place, but yeah, the owner's an idiot so this gets two stars and a strong recommendation to not give this guy your money and seek a camping site elsewhere. -Martin

I come here as often as I can for a farm breakfast at the weekend. The food is really good, the people are great and the shop which the cafe shares is brilliant for fresh veg, proper butter, cakes, gifts and greetings cards. The butchers just next door (part of the same farm) is fantastic quality and value. An added bonus is all of the animals to visit.

We've just returned from a great bank holiday weekend camping at Manor Farm with our 3 children and 2 other families. The farm is really fantastic, a beautiful setting which really makes you feel that you've escaped but only a 30 min journey! David and his family are so friendly and helpful. The kids loved exploring the farm, playing fetch with Ruby the sheepdog, riding their bikes, going on a walk through the fields, running down hills and finding the piglets. The evening's were spent toasting marshmallows on the open fire provided. We devoured our delicious home cooked breakfasts in the cafe and also enjoyed cakes and organic ice-cream. We had the bonus of the Saturday morning dog training which the kids loved and made a judging panel! Hot showers, very clean services, a fantastic farm shop/ butchers which helped with making a very tasty BBQ (also provided) and the picnic benches were a great bonus. We were all very sad to leave and we'll certainly be back next year! The McLeish Family

My second reveiw because this place is just great. Been coming here for several years now, but each time it feels special. Had breakfast today, which as always was great! Such a relaxing way to spend a Sunday morning. David and Catherine always have time for a chat with the customers.

Catherine, David and their clan provided a perfect camping experience at the farm in the cosy yurt residing among the bell tents. This morning we enjoyed a wonderful English breakfast made out of local meat and produce. The farm and surrounding countryside are stunning, the home cooking is a joy and the entire Hawking family, including extended members, could not be more hospitable, caring and hard-working. Actually it was all so special I cannot think of a single improvement to be made. The children all had the time of their lives and so did we! Can't wait to come back and try out the yurt again!

What a fantastic place Manor Farm is. Tucked away in the beautiful countryside near Bath, it is the ideal location to escape for the weekend. Whether you bring your own tent or "glamp" it, the facilities there are excellent, and David made us feel very welcome. The farm shop also has some wonderful food on offer, the breakfast was one of the best ones I've had. I shall definitely be going back to unwind again soon.

We organised a hen party for 18 girls, renting one bell tent and pitching 3 other tents. In the evening we were served a two course meal and in the morning had a fry up breakfast.Everything about our stay was absolutely fantastic. David and the team did everything they could to make our stay enjoyable and comfortable. The bell tent was kitted out with a double bed, two singles and spaces for 4 on fold-out futons. It was stuffed with comfy, colourful bean bags and cushions and blankets, and in the evening we lit candles for a girl's night in.We were able to request our meal in advance and were served big portions of delicious lasagne, salad, garlic bread and coleslaw, and a huge strawberry/raspberry pavlova for dessert. We didn't have any girls with dietary requirements but the team assured us any changes would not be a problem. In the morning we were served a full English fry up breakfast with tea and coffee. The toilet block was modern and well equipped with soap, toilet roll, etc., and we all loved the lambs, pigs, ducks, dogs and cows dotted about the farm. Most of our group went for a walk in the morning, following a route provided, which they enjoyed despite the rain! I searched long and hard to find somewhere suitable for our large hen party, and we couldn't have found a better location. David and the team were so helpful and accommodating, we were able to camp but still get warm, home cooked food, which made all the difference. Our bride-to-be was thrilled to bits. On top of it all this was definitely the best priced option in the county, making it affordable for our group. Thank you so much!

This was a complete surprise venue for me as the bride-to-be and it was so beautiful and perfect - I had to keep catching myself as I realised that this really was for me. My bridesmaids chose so so well. I was greeted by cute lambs outside to cuddle and piglets too, and only later discovered that I was staying in one of the incredible bell tents which was stunningly and palatially decorated inside. As if this was not enough we then we got the amazing treat of dinner in the evening... the cafe decor was really cosy and classy with lots of beautiful tea lights around, and the perfect size for our group of 18. Extremely generous portions of lasagne were served alongside salads and coleslaw - all of which were devoured and affirmed by lots of "mmmmm"s, and then we were presented with the most unbelievably king-size and delicious fresh fruit pavlova (my favourite) which certainly did not disappoint! In the morning we had cooked breakfast which was again in great portion sizes, and throughout all of our time the owners and staff were extremely attentive and generous. I could not recommend this place enough!

Besides Manor Farm in Upton Cheyney being a magical place to visit with far reaching views, a cafe, butchery and farm shop, it also has its own chilli farm! The chillies grown on the farm can be found in a variety of the products sold in the shop and butchery including chilli sausages, burgers, sauces, oils and chocolates.Thechilli farms poly tunnels are open to visit in season (May-October) and there is a well respected chilli festival here every year. 2014 date is August 30/31st. They even do farm tours of the chiili farm and offer camping and glamping in bell tents and yurts. This is a magical place and well worth a visit.

Once again David, Catherine and all the girls put on a fantastic evening. Manor Farm is a homely, friendly environment, having gun and relaxing are key ingredients. The Valentine Curry Night was another testament to this, the place was packed and the atmosphere great, helped along by lovely young singer and guitarist. The menu was varied and moved along at a gentle pace, all served up by the hard working girls. The dessert of course was Ellies famous cheesecake!! The farm shop had been decorated with hearts and flowers and we were greeted with a glass of sparkling wine. It is all the little details that make it special. We go to the Farm Shop regularly for coffee, brunch or lunch and just enjoy the relaxed atmospere. Keep up the good work David and Catherine!!

Live football being televised in a great beer garden. Staff were extremely personable, a great selection of beer and the pizza was great. Approx 15 minutes on foot to Bristol Rovers' Memorial Stadium with nearby street parking available. Would return!
