Amazing for everyone, I just want to say thanks to this place. As a vegetarian cafe it makes food that everyone can enjoy even if you were a meat eater. It’s such a refreshing menu, the breakfasts are so unique and utterly delicious, they make basically everything themselves and you can tell they are passionate. As a coeliac I have eaten here countless times and have never had an issue, the menu is well thought out to make changes for accommodate Gluten free and they give you something to replace what is changed in the dishes. I bring all my friends and family here and always will. In my opinion best cafe in Bristol and maybe England. Thanks

Normally absolutely love this place - both the food and staff are usually fantastic (5 star!) but we had a bad experience today. We hadn't booked this time and although it was quiet when we arrived, we were told that they were fully booked, which was fair enough. The person at the counter eventually asked if we would be happy to sit on stools at the small bar on the first floor, which we thought would just about work ok. So, we sat down and ordered, only then to be told 5 mins later that two others were going to sit next to us at the bar in what was already a tiny space. This would have been hugely uncomfortable (physically) and slightly uncomfortable socially, as would be like sharing a v small table with people we didn't know. So, we gently suggested to the waitress that it wouldn't work too well. However, she was wholly uncompromising and slightly rude in telling us that they are a small venue and that it was how they did things. If I had been them then I would have said, fair enough, and turned the others away but that didn't seem to enter the waitress' mind, so we told her it was probably best if we went somewhere else. As we were walking out, the person behind the counter and the waitress seemed to be openly talking about how unreasonable we had been, which I felt was a bit rich. So, Sundial, you are a great venue and serve fab food, and although this isn't a massive complaint, please try and get your staff to exercise better judgement and manners. Thanks

Came here for brunch. Really friendly welcome. Had the baked Turkish eggs, which were the best I've had in a long time. The other 3 meals were also enjoyed wholeheartedly. Visit if you can.

What an awesome gem of a place with friendly and knowledgeable staff. The food we all had was divine and the confit potato cake in particular was exceptional. Good sized portions and all round fantastic food.

Honestly, the best lunch out in ages. Visited on a Monday, welcoming warm, bright cafe with a tantalising menu. We had the fresh homemade pumpkin pasta (rivalled some of the best I've tasted in Italy), falafel bowl (fresh, vibrant, generous) and oozing cheese and leek toastie. We're all keen to become regulars and eat our way through the rest of the menu. Great value, healthy and different, highly recommend.

Such a nice place for brunch, it’s all veggie with a few vegan options. The food is great, really tasty and homemade, they definitely put the effort in in the kitchen. It’s great that’s everything’s veggie but vegan options are limited, they also don’t have a barista machine so no cappucinos :( Prices are ok for the area, about £10 for the small (it’s not the small) brunch plate. And service is pretty good, super friendly and personable but can be a little haphazard (had to ask a few times to get a coffee). It’s popular so arrive early or book on weekends! And it’s dog friendly…

Quite honestly some of the freshest and tastiest food I’ve eaten in a long time. Vegetarian and all home made. The coffee is amazing too! This business deserves huge success

Really amazing food. In mine and most of my friends opinion it’s the best brunch/lunch cafe in Bristol and quite possibly beyond. Really stand out menu with everything on it delicious. Super reasonable prices, good portions and friendly staff. I recommend it to everyone! Also really great for gluten free, I’ve been eating here as a coeliac for ages and never had a issue.

Excellent food in a bright, attractive setting. We had the Big Sundial brunch and the kimchi fried rice - both recommended. Service good, prices reasonable.

I live locally in Totterdown, whenever I have friends stay I never worry about providing breakfast since Sundial is so excellent I would be robbing my friends of a really great experience. If you're in the area or even just hungry coming out of Temple Meads its entirely worth your time to come here and eat. Word is out though and the cafe can sometimes be very busy at lunch times at the weekend, so might be worth booking even a little ahead to avoid disappointment. But otherwise there's usually at least one table free, and a lot of people dont realise there is additional space upstairs with comfy seats!

The whole menu looked fantastic and genuinely think I would’ve been happy with anything I ordered. Everyone on our table had a different dish and they were all great, but all I really want to talk about (and all I’ve talked about since) is the Welsh rarebit & leek toastie Without a doubt the best toastie I’ve ever had, the sourdough was delicious, over flowing with filling, cooked in butter. It was exactly what I wanted to eat and all I’ve wanted to eat since. Will definitely be back and want to try everything on the menu, but if that toastie is on I don’t think I could order anything else for fear of missing out

I threw a surprise party for my partner at Sundial Kitchen in September and they were the best! The food was incredible, we had the place to ourselves, it looked wonderful. Chloe and Paul were so accommodating and helped me pick a 3 course meal which would suit everyone, they were patient when I found out last minute about allergies etc. Can't recommend them highly enough! I was having too good of a time to take pics of the food but it should of been documented!

Eagerly awaiting for Sundial's doors to open in the summer, after recently moving to the area, I had been following Sundial on Instagram and finally the day came to visit! Sundial went above and beyond my expectations, and still does every time I go. The food is cooked ALL from scratch, even their brown sauce and kombucha! The potatoes served with breakfast are one of a kind, finally sliced, baked, cut then fried, they are an absolute delight! Besides the food, Sundial has a gorgeous and aesthetically pleasing environment, uber friendly staff, takeaway service and local produce on offer. Go visit, you will not be disappointed!

I have eaten at the Sundial Kitchen a number of times now. I have eaten in the place which is always lovely, accompanied by a book or podcast. As well as taken food away (it travels very well if you fancy an office treat!) All dishes are stunningly created, everything feels like it has been crafted over a long period of time and all the flavours seem to compliment each other perfectly. For breakfast, my favourite dish is crushed peas with pecorino and soft boiled eggs on toast. Forget avocado toast. These peas are dreamy as hell! It’s an elegant dish that is light enough to start you off for the day but has a richness that keeps you full for hours and you’ll be craving it for days! The Sundial Breakfasts on the brunch menu are available most of the day, and my god are they to die for. You can tell how much care and attention has gone into a dish when even the condiments are homemade! Spicy greens, rich baked beans in a homemade sauce (sorry Heinz), and some sincerely gorgeous potatoes that have been blessed by a deity I tell you! I have brought staunch meat-eaters and vegans to eat here and the Sundial has always been a hit. Side note: They cater to a range of dietary requirements. Finally, my review could not neglect the toasties they make. Laden with cheese, their cheese and pickle sourdough toastie (accompanied by that sexy brown sauce) is my go-to for lunchtimes (and hangovers..and car journeys..and..oh everything!). Of course, I’m just one woman and they obviously have other delightful things on the menu but those are my highlights. Sorry this reads like one of Shakespeare’s Ballads I am just in love

Love love LOVE the sundial. The food is absolutely delicious. One of the nicest curry’s and shashuka’s I’ve had. Also the chocolate and peanut butter brownie and chocolate cupcakes are scrumptious. Not only is the food great the couple that run it are so friendly and genuinely just lovely people. Great service always. Must try!!

This is a hidden gem located in the heart of the boho Bristol Totterdown area. Run by Chloe and Paul. The food (all vegetarian or vegan) is to die for. The Sundial Breakfast (despite being vegetarian, I'm a carnivore) is the best I've tasted and the Shakshuka is delicious. It's well worth a visit.

Went to Friska for lunch with a friend. The dining area was getting full as it was clearly prime time, but there wasn’t a queue and service was efficient and smiley. Atmosphere in this Friska is nice,
