Great little place in Clifton with excellent food, service and atmosphere. Would highly recommend

I have been coming to Saffron for a long time (hence all the different pictures), and it never fails to impress me. Their food, coffee and service is outstanding. If you are looking to have a mouthwatering brunch then you should definitely check it out. Especially on a sunny day, sitting outside is a wonderful way to catch the sun whilst enjoying some good food. My go to is their vegetarian turkish breakfast or the avocado vs eggs (with halloumi)! Great hangover cure.

The Turkish eggs are delicious and the staff are really lovely. Highly recommend. It's also very dog friendly.

Perfect poached eggs and speedy service!

so disappointed. the bread was cheap dry toast. They didnt bother to toast it more than two seconds. The cheapest bread you buy in a supermarket. the meat burnt and dry, the salad bland and tasteless. A kitchen who lost the ambitions

Great Mediterranean food, well cooked. Nice service, even though it was crowded with the bank holidays. Not expensive like other cafes in this area. Definitely recommend it. Too bad I didn't take any pictures, but there are already enough on Google I suppose 😏

Lovely food in the heart of Clifton Village.

Excellent food and service in this cute little cafe in Bristol. Had the Middle Eastern eggs with merguez and pistachio. Really tasty. Dirty chai was excellent too. My friend enjoyed the full English which looked really really good and had very generous portions. Special shout out to Freya who was our waitress and was super friendly and attentive.

Tasty, tasty tasty breakfast with spice from this Turkish/moroccan influence menu. I really happy relaxed vibe and some good trending music, Fabulous coffee. Delighted to get gluten-free bread . We ate Middle East egg dish which had flatbread , with a couple of sausages in it and spice. and ate avocados v egg with smoked salmon and chilli jam. 🤣 I asked for sunshine too and out it came. 🌞

This was my first time experiencing authentic mediterranean food and I loved it! Partially because of the weather was super nice and the vibe of the place was energetic. Food was served hot and fresh. Flavourful and enjoyable. Filled us up with reasonable price.

Visited on Thursday around 3pm with my mum. Three customers were finishing meals and there was a table of five who were ordering drinks as we went in. One young woman was serving and the other was sitting eating her lunch. Server didn't make any acknowledgement of us although she did look towards us as we sat at the next table to the five. The server then spent ages making the drinks and we could hear the table grumbling about how long it was taking. We sat there for 25 minutes without being served or acknowledged (and next table not getting their hot drinks) but we weren't in a hurry and could see she was busy making the drinks. Then four men walked in and sat down and she went straight over to take their order. Having been ignored for over 25 minutes we walked out - my mum did (politely) say that we have been waiting a long time. We went to Caffe Nero instead. I wouldn't be surprised if the table of five left after us as they weren't happy either. Two women are obviously invisible and trumped by four men! We only went in for coffee, but she didn't know that. When I visit my parents in Clifton I often pop in to Saffron with them for a snack or drink, but never again. And my parents won't ever be going back. Primrose Cafe is 100% better. I have to say in the past we have been happy with the service but there seems to be a differet vibe (and no lovely food smells now) If I was the owner or manager of Saffron, I would be putting a rocket under one or both of those servers! Title edited as apparently the usual and normal name for part of the male anatomy is considered "Profane and Vulgar Language" on here!

Gorgeous little spot, I’ve been a few times and the food is always delicious, the staff are super lovely and attentive, would highly recommend to anyone in Bristol!!

I visited saffron a couple of months ago now. Situated on a busy street in Clifton village it was the perfect stop for brunch. The staff were on hand to find me a table before suggesting that I order the shashuka - I wasn’t disappointed, it was delicious. I’ll definitely be visiting again some time soon! Thanks!

Had amazing chicken wrap with great salad and dips. Really special. Very reasonably priced and great service.

Really great flavours and theway the food is presented is most excellent. I ate with 2 people who regularly travel through India and they were very happy with the choices 😊

A must visit place in Clifton village especially on weekends. It can be full and you may need to wait but definitely worth trying. Really delicious breakfast meals. Sour dough bread is really tasty. I have tried pouched eggs on avocado. Harissa sauce was amazing. I highly recommend this place 👌

First time eating at Saffron. Great service, lovely mezze and the sun was out!

We had lunch on a sunny hot day. The food portions are amazing and the food was delicious. It was very hot and they dont have umbrellas for outside and inside was full, so we were very hot. We would have stayed for desert, but the heat was too much. It is a lovely spot to sit and eat across Reg the Veg with its beautiful display of produce. I recommend Saffron for breakfast or lunch, I would say the best spot in Clifton Village.

Dine in awful experience today poached eggs hard as golf balls & waitress had a attitude . There no customer service & basically said could not cook more poached eggs as the hot water had been thrown away .they deducted my meal from the bill. Definitely never go there again.

Excellent-both service and food. We had breakfast- top quality, a must if staying in a hotel, great value as well.

This cafe was brilliant! The staff was lovely and it was a beautiful day so I could sit outside to enjoy my breakfast, which meant I could soak up the family ambience of the area. I ordered the bacon butty, which was cured bacon rashers on hot buttered ciabatta bread... And my god was it good! The bacon was excellent and the bread was incredibly tasty! Coupled with an orange juice and a coffee and I had a perfect start to the day. Prices were very reasonable too. Definitely recommended if you're in the area.

I had breakfast with 6 friends.The menu included Turkish style breakfast, Middle Eastern style breakfast, English breakfast, etc.I ordered shakshuka.After having a nice breakfast and chatting for a while, we went for a walk at Ashton Court. I went there. Elderflowers were in full bloom and the refreshing scent wafted through the air.

Had lunch here by chance. Had delicious chargrilled lamb skewers and crispy lemon chicken wings. It was very busy with the sun out but service was great and staff were very friendly. Will definitely be back!

A little gem of a cafe. The food was lovely and the staff very friendly.

Terrible service from beginning to end. Upon entering we were greeted with a cold and judgmental stare. We asked for a table for 4 but the woman who greeted us said nothing and walked away, we then watched another staff member carry some chairs in from the rain and were told to sit downstairs in the cold and FISHY smelling basement. The table was soaking wet so we couldn’t sit down but the waiter who said he’d be down to dry it went missing. After another staff member made an attempt to wipe the table with an already wet cloth we decided to go back upstairs, tragic. We then waited upstairs but were made to feel in the way. Eventually We had to ask to order and when our drinks arrived one had been made wrong (understandable in a busy cafe) but when asked to change it we were again made to feel like we were wrong to ask, we also saw the staff muttering about it (unpleasant) we then never received the drink but where still charged on the bill. Overall food great but the staff made us feel uncomfortable at every interaction will not be returning.

I went here with friends for brunch on the Easter Sunday. The staff patiently sat us separately to then sat us together when availability allowed for it, and made space for the baby; that was very kind of them. We ordered a variety of different dishes from the menu and the main ones were big portions full of flavour. I would recommend the grilled marinated chicken, the sides it comes with were fantastic, I really liked the salad! The starters were very tasty too. We were all very pleased and satisfied. I highly recommend this place and would come back next time I go to Bristol.

Really slow service and smoked salmon salad, whilst tasting reasonably OK, looked really disgusting - a pile of pale green, beige and brown. Much better at home.

A great cafe in Clifton village. Visited for breakfast and had a very unique one indeed. I ordered the middle eastern egg with Merguez & Pistachio. It was very different, not a breakfast flavor im used to. It had a soupy consistency with 3 Moroccan sausage and a poached egg inside. It was really flavorful and tasty but a bit on the heavier side for breakfast. My girlfriend ordered the Egg’s Florentine which had a massive mushroom on top. Personally we weren’t a fan of the hollandaise sauce. The consistency was a bit weird I don’t know maybe it was just me. Additionally, they have some great coffee as well, the cappuccino was delicious and massive. Overall i had a very good experience.

Best breakfast ever! Avocado V Eggs! Delicious!

Met some friends here at 8 am on a Wednesday morning. We had three pots of Tea which each held enough Tea for two full cups) and looked at the menu. The Full English was fine for me but my colleagues wanted some thing different. The menu said “ No Changes” so we wondered if this would be possible? One friend asked for no Black Pudding which was simply left off the full breakfast but the other wanted : 2 poached eggs. 2 Bacon. 2 Sausages and nothing else. They agreed to provide this without any fuss. My Full breakfast was very good. Two delicious Sausages, 2 really good thick cuts rashers of Smokey bacon, a large grilled fresh Tomato, one over cooked egg, a pot of baked beans and a round of granary toast. The Garlic mushrooms were served on a separate plate and they were huge, but heavy on the garlic! All in, this was a really good breakfast cooked well and served nicely. The cafe itself was comfortable warm and the staff were helpful and friendly. The full breakfast was a bit expensive at £12.95 But I was surprised to see the special breakfast ( sausage, bacon and eggs) came to a whopping £16.90? I can’t work out how they got to thi figure? But they didn’t charge for the Teas so perhaps it all balanced out? I would recommend this place ( as an alternative to other popular cafes in Clifton Village) but I would suggest sticking to what’s on the menu?

We've eaten here many times and the food and service are consistently good. I'm a full English type of guy and I am never disappointed by the (all day) breakfast, My wife however is a more adventurous vegetarian and has almost too much choice of wonderful dishes to sample. We love it and would recommend it as one of Clifton's best.

Good bfast. Well cooked. Well presented. Expensive: but quality of ingredients and quality of service offset so not a big deal. Good coffee. Good service Preferred Clifton venue. Open hrs good.

Incredibly busy cafe on the Sunday we visited but the turnover of tables was quick and the service was very good. The food was tasty - our group had a full English, bacon & egg on toast and egg & avocado on toast. The coffee was average; I've had better. There's only one toilet which isn't enough but not worth knocking a star off the score.

Wonderful meze menu for a more unusual brunch! Good service and lovely atmosphere. Would absolutely recommend and go again!

Delicious food with a Middle Eastern flavour

The salads are massive and delicious! We got two hot drinks and a salad for £18 so it wasn’t super cheap but no more expensive than anything in the surrounding area. Seating area outside was nice and the staff were very nice to us 😁

I would argue that this is the BEST place to get brunch in the whole of Bristol. Always has great atmosphere and is busy, especially on a summers day when you can sit outside. But more importantly, the food is DELICIOUS.

Delicious! Great value. Big portions. Friendly waiting staff. I had falafel salad, my husband had merguez sausages, both were served with superb tasty homemade hummus, tatziki, harissa type dip and salad. A beautiful served hot chocolate too. £22.50 total. Brilliant.

Had brunch here with a friend - we ordered the Turkish and Mediterranean breakfasts, both were delicious! Simple meals but well-seasoned, authentic, warming and tasty perfect for a cold day. The service was quick and friendly. We will definitely be coming back! 🙌🏽

The goats cheese salad is the best I’ve ever had!! A generous chunk of delicious goats cheese on a beautifully dressed shredded cabbage and carrot salad with grilled courgette and seeds. A fantastic dish. They only lost a point for having Alpro Oat Milk - there are much better Oat Milks out there (Oatly, Moma, Minor Figures to name a few). I will absolutely be back, all the other dishes also looked wonderful. Great restaurant

This is a return visit. Four breakfasts. Presentation nothing like before or anything like pictures above. Toast for four on two of the plates! Items some what a little blackened. These are not greasy spoon prices.

Service could be friendlier, but the food arrived promptly and was delicious.

Gorgeous cordon bleu style food. Small portions but beautifully cooked.

Just had a really bad experience unfortunately. Ordered a "freshly squeezed Orange Juice" instead i had orange juice with bits from the supermarket. Flat bread was a wrap out of a packet and i was expecting "chips" with my main (as specified on the menu) instead they put crisps out of a packet on my plate. Really disappointing. I've mentioned this to the staff but they denied everything and said that no one has complaint before and charge me in full.

Outstanding food, tasty, colourful, beautifully presented. Best breakfast we have had the pleasure of eating. Will definitely be top of the list when we next return to Bristol.

Saffron may have Nepalese specialities… but at lunch it has exceptionally good Mezedes. Fresh, flavoursome, well-priced. Highly recommended.

Very nice place near the Clifton Bridge. If you want a place to stop by either before or after visiting the bridge then you can stop over here. It does get crowded so bear that in mind. I had the Middle eastern egg with merguez and pistachio which had great flavour and cooked well. Service was friendly and fairly quick. It's also reasonably priced. You can also go for mezze if you want to share with multiple people.

Been here for brunch twice, had sharing plates once and sandwich the other. Both were amazing and left very full. The honey halloumi was definitely a highlight. Love sitting outside in the street, would fully recommend.

Great choice of restaurants to eat here. We sat outside under an umbrella and ate delicious meals - goats cheese salad with pomegranates and courgettes which was totally delicious, couscous and halloumi which was equally delicious and a falafel wrap which scored top points too! Friendly service was lovely!

Really liked the entire setup, cute outdoor seating and food was really great. The best thing I’ve eaten recently! I had 3 mezze dishes and my friend had a salad which was really well done. Staff pleasant and good people watching.

All I am going to say is that we had poached eggs with my friend and both of us had to run to the toilet after. Not too sure about the quality of the food. At least the location is cute.

Fantastic, simply fantastic! Wonderful food that is tasty and authentic. The portions are very generous and good value. The service is exceptional and refreshingly attentive, where many British cafes are very much the opposite!

Such a lovely place that's perfect for lunch. And you must get the Mr. Falafel sandwhich, it is honestly so flavourful and the best falafel wrap I think I've ever had. Everyone at my table regretted their choice after trying mine.

Went here for lunch on a Saturday. Tried the mezze which was delicious, great value, good food, prompt service and a good atmosphere in the heart of Clifton village. I had the lamb kofte, humous, halloumi and flatbreads, which were all superb. We will definitely be back 😃
