Unfortunately, this isnât a good review at all after loving this place for so long. We booked for a Sunday lunch for a table of 3 including our two year old son. I had the pork, my wife had the beef and we ordered a childâs roast dinner. First of all we ordered some drinks which, one didnât arrive so I had to ask the waitress when it would come. When the food arrived it was immediately underwhelming. The pork portion looked large, but it was mostly fat, and âcracklingâ was soggy. The roast potatoâs were so dry and hard to cut, and the same goes for the Yorkshire pudding. The veg included 1 very small carrot and some dry cabbage. There was a side of cauliflower cheese, this was also disappointing. We paid the bill and left promptly, only to call the pub later that day to ask if there was anything wrong that day with the chef, and to voice our dissatisfaction with what was a fantastic pub. They apologised, but insisted the food is cooked to what they believe the correct standard, they have offered us a refund of one of the meals, however this has yet to be received. I really hope this place improves. It use to be a fantastic place for Sunday lunch. When you go out for food you expect to eat better than you would at home, sadly for this place, we should have stayed at home!

The biggest disappointment here is that this restaurant was definitely poor value for money. For example ÂŁ9.75 for 2 x 3" chicken skewers was excessive. The Calamari dish, (ÂŁ9.75), was basically batter with very little Calamari involved. The Piri Piri prawns were again overpriced at ÂŁ9.25 for 5 small peeled prawns. The plate of Iberian Ham was delicious but again was very overpriced, (ÂŁ24), for what it was. It came with some very hard mini breadsticks & could have been improved with something like some small Gherkins & bread. We left after paying ÂŁ80 for what was baically 6 small dishes feeling as if their prices were acceptable just because the location was Marlborough! I'd get a better deal at Rick Steins! Service was OK.

đ Aldgate East đşÂ ÂŁ5.30 Amstel â¤ď¸ A proper old school London high street pub. . The White Hart is located on forever busy Whitechapel High Street and just a stones throw away from Aldgate East Tube. . This neck of the woods is undergoing massive redevelopment at present, the local landscape has changed irreversibly over the past couple of years which sadly saw the end of a local and excellent pub The Still & Star, this pub is being replaced by towers of steel, glass and concrete (progress) âšď¸ . The White Hart looks like it has been slotted in to the row of buildings it sits along with. This narrow pub is quite simple architecturally and has a traditional pub frontage. At the right hand side of the pub is Gunthorpe Street, a cobblestone narrow alleyway which was a location of one of Jack The Rippers murders. I had a peer up the alleyway and it does have a moody atmospheric feel to it. . Inside, this boozer is long and narrow and does stretch back a fair bit. The decor is traditional with a wooden floor, a bright red panelled bar and lots of bric-Ă -brac on the walls and ledges. . I visited on a Saturday afternoon and the atmosphere was very lively with a mix of a few locals, tourists and a few lively characters who had been on the sauce all day and had just come back from The Arsenal win over Man U. The beer choice here is simple, I ordered a pint of Amstel which was a good drop and my cheapest pint of the day at ÂŁ5.30. I must mention the Guvnor, as mentioned earlier there were a few fellas who were raising the noise levels and he calmly kept them in check. I spoke with him briefly, he was from the same part of Ireland my family are from, heâs a big fella and was well in command of this E1 pub. . I love a high street pub, for me there is always that little edge to them about whoâs in attendance or whoâs going to walk in the door. The welcome and service here were top notch and you will be well looked after. The White Hart is a proper London pub and is a great example of how all pubs used to be around this manor. Top pub, top Guvnorâ, nuff said me old china. . đ Information correct on visiting 23/04/22

I used to go here often as a convenient meeting spot off the A419. Always enjoyed it and looked forward to it. This time the Red Lion burger (which is now ÂŁ20) was not up to previous visits. Rather dry and slightly gamey in flavour. Dog friendly but apparently they now have to be on leads.

A traditional style Indian restaurant â i.e. no frills and candelabras, which is usually a good sign that the food is going to be good and I was not disappointed. I do not know why this restaurant is not busier than it is. There are a number of places to eat in Cricklade, however the food and service here outshines them all. The staff were very attentive and our order was taken promptly with food arriving in a timely manner. I could not fault any of the dishes we had and will definitely return sooner rather than later.
