Tipi Tapa in Wiltshire

The biggest disappointment here is that this restaurant was definitely poor value for money. For example £9.75 for 2 x 3" chicken skewers was excessive. The Calamari dish, (£9.75), was basically batter with very little Calamari involved. The Piri Piri prawns were again overpriced at £9.25 for 5 small peeled prawns. The plate of Iberian Ham was delicious but again was very overpriced, (£24), for what it was. It came with some very hard mini breadsticks & could have been improved with something like some small Gherkins & bread. We left after paying £80 for what was baically 6 small dishes feeling as if their prices were acceptable just because the location was Marlborough! I'd get a better deal at Rick Steins! Service was OK.

Visited for lunch. Whilst servings were not the size (these are larger!) or the typical content of Spanish tapas, they were certainly delicious and nicely prepared and cooked. Boquerones fritos; crispy and good with a dipping sauce. Salad 'mixta'; very generous with a great light & tasty olive oil dressing. Calamari: crispy, excellent and very tender. We were treated to a sample tasting of fresh tuna.... it was "perfecto"! For good, freshly prepared food the prices are reasonable. We were all full with no room for dessert: £60 for 3. Would certainly return...thanks team, loved our visit.

Dreadful!! Service was poor; food tasteless and whilst appreciating the concept of tapas when the mushrooms came out swimming in sauce as the last dish and I commented that it would have been good to have had them earlier the very rude waiter snapped at me ‘this is tapas’. Paid the bill expensive for portion size and quality and left! Not at all welcoming and was disappointed given reviews.

Visited on a Tuesday night with a group of friends and had an exceptional evening - the service was excellent and very friendly and the food was delicious. Highly recommend a visit and a big thanks to the staff for a lovely evening.

Had read some good reviews before dining here. The chef patron was quite cocky and I was expecting so much more. Padron Peppers seeped in oil, tasteless tomatoes with the Anchoas Con Tomate (if you going to stick an anchovy on a tomato, the tomato has to be fruity and succulent, not like wet and tasteless like cardboard). Opted for Patatas La Terrazza, but these were undercooked and soft, nowhere the consistency of good Patatas. Do I know what I am talking about… Yes, I do. I learnt to cook tapas dishes in Seville and Barcelona. To be honest, if the chef spent less time on banter in the open kitchen (within easy earshot of paying guests) and more time on tasting and refining the food, I’m sure it could be so much better. Management comped the Anchoas Con Tomate and Patatas La Terrazza from the bill after I mentioned the disappointment. Would I eat here again - probably not.

I just love this restaurant. Feel so grateful to have it in Marlborogh. Truly fresh authentic Spanish Tapas.. it’s honestly completely delicious. The squid is divine the Gambas as good as in Spain and I can go on and on! (Oh and I have to mention the Churros.. the best.. l have to stop myself popping in every day! no exaggeration! ) The restaurant decor is not terribly exciting and so it’s easy to walk in and wonder if it’s going to be ok.. but just like the Tapas bars in Spain.. you’re there for the food!

This is a great little spot. The food is incredible - cooked with real care and passion. Authentically Spanish in style, and packed with flavour. The chef/owner really knows his stuff and really cares about the provenance of his food. The atmosphere is welcoming and lively (but not too lively) and the service was exceptional. We'll be back and would highly recommend it to anyone in the Marlborough area.

Dined on 29th March. David and his crack Anglo Spanish brigade, serve the best tapas outside Spain, I’ve ever eaten. A visit is a must.

This restaurant was closed for several weeks in February through to March for renovation and some electrical works, and has now reopened as LA TERRAZA (MARLBOROUGH) We visited on its reopening night to find that it was already lively with a Flamenco Guitarist playing to add to the already welcoming atmosphere. We were sat in the upstairs seating area and were given a complimentary glass of white wine [which was light and fruity and very palatable] whereupon our orders were taken. We elected for 5 dishes including the potato bravas, the meatballs, prawns and calamari and the mushroom dish. All the dishes were brought promptly and hot, but still allowing time between dishes to relax and enjoy the delicious flavours. Its relaxed and friendly atmosphere, with attentive and charming staff making an evening feel that little bit more special. This is quality food at a very reasonable price, with flavour combinations that will tempt you back. Looking forward to better weather [to eat outside on the decked area] and explore more of the menu.

Excellent .. New Year outing ..4 friends. From the moment we entered the service was friendly and excellent. Menu was varied and our waitress advice and help was brilliant. My wife is a coeliac and the amount of food available was very good. We all had a varied amount of tapas and empty plates proved the food was very good.. It is a must go to. As a couple we visit at least once a month and it is our favourite place to lunch. The sangria is out of this world, the food is fresh and delicious. The staff are lovely, helpful and knowledgeable about what they serve. We took our teenage daughter and she thought it was amazing. Even the dog loved it here. Iv just convinced myself to go back today.

Amazing family meal for a birthday!! David the chef was really friendly and chatted about the food, it’s source and suggested a beautiful tuna on the special. The staff are so friendly and welcoming on and try the crime brûlée…We will definitely be back asap, thank you!

What a real treat this place was. We met up with friends (half way-ish between Oxford and Bridport) while family stayed at Savernake Forest. We were made very welcome on arrival and the service continued to be friendly, attentive, but not intrusive. They were even lovely to our family who spotted us and invaded! We started with some excellent olives and roasted almonds and then shared a selection of dishes. The vegetable paella was delicious as was the Tortilla Espanõla, with a mixed salad and padron peppers. As well we enjoyed some tasty calamares, crispy battered prawns, chicken and chorizo skewers and Iberico Bellota ham. Every mouthful of each dish was savoured and pronounced delicious. Churros and chocolate made a great finish to the meal. We all agreed that we would enjoy a repeat performance! Great value for money and easy to book a table online. We have no hesitation in recommending Tipi Tapa (only wish we lived nearer!!)

5 of us chose Tipi Tapa for lunch. The staff were so friendly. We were offered a quiet table upstairs, and were not rushed to make our choices. The food was great. I chose pil-pil prawns and calamari, both were delicious. The pil-pil came with bread to soak up the garlicky, chilli sauce. I made sure there was no sauce left. We all shared a couple of churros. All in all, a great place to eat at a reasonable price. I will definitely be returning - soon I hope!
